@ Raven, I mean in a society like the United States, free-living people can't be forced to live in such a regimented society. If you want to say that the world will eventually become a Gattaca esque Police state, then just say it. I don't think there is any proof for or against that argument. However, if you want to say that the exclusive lifestyles of the rich and famous are going to become a popular trend, then I can say that I think you are wrong. &nb

I played Dawn of War:Dark Crusade, Dawn of War:Soul Storm, Dark Crusade-Pro, Dawn of War 2, and Fall from Heaven 2. I also cut three tatami mats with a clay-tempered cloud sword (Korean katana)

Probably expanded by the modding community. Theoretically, I don't mind if you can custom make Armor-designs to fit your version of "Pretty" ... however it should still be clearly identifiable as X level of Armor (light, medium, or heavy)

It wouldn't be uncontrollable ... it would be late growth which would require to COMPLETELY ignore the lair for 100 plus turns. That's why LIVING is better than RANDOM. read my posts correctly, please sir, before you leave inane remarks.

@Aractain ... by that I mean only the most Macro of creatures. AKA, several small independent nations forming a "Pack" (A Confederate Alliance) Or a giant pack of bug-bears splitting from the Lair and migrating south, burning villages and eating people as they move.

Have you ever looked at Internationalism? And its failure among plebians? //by that I mean the Internationalist style, and how it was left to rot by the poor, yet worshiped by the Corporations. Most skyscrapers are built in Internationalist style. Internationalist Style Architecture started in Chicago, continued in America and Germany, and was the Flagstone of New-Age building for both Capitalism and Fascism. Regimented, planned out lifestyles only work

Nice ... @ UO's attempt at a "living ecology" I think breaking it down to resources/ food is a tad too micro for elemental, but certainly migratory patterns and pack forming. Maybe even certain monsters "prefer" to live in certain lands ... so some are content in their driveling caves while others wish to take the fertile land from the Humanz.
Tasunke Cherrypicking parts of an argument doesn't work Protoss are VERY durable. Their units tier for tier got like 2x to 3x the hitpoints of the other races. Eldar are fragile and got way less hitpoints for what you pay Protoss are NOT the fastest/most mobile race as Eldar are. Eldars effectiveness on high lvls of play lie in their speed (Fleet of Foot)
Yea ... I agree its FIRAXIS/2K that will be approving or dissapproving mods. Also, if they have a strong modding community (after all this mess) it would be logical if they coordinate their patches/ patch schedule with the modding community somehow. Making it easier?? (I don't code) for mods to upgrade to newer patches might be a fixation of Civ V if, again, they wish to make a steamworks game modifiable. Because obviously we won't have the luxury of making 6 digital c

So .... basically the only difference between Eldar and Protoss are that Protoss have Forcefields. and your trying to say that they aren't alike at all?

And for horse archers-> Cantalabrian Circle +4 defense vs ranged attacks, -2 defense vs melee, movement 0 (move in circle)

So would your "serious" DnD mod have no cities? Or would it be a relatively Static map with living factions?? Giving yourself the "going gandalf" motiff ... with only a band of adventurers?

If they aren't making meaningful decisions, investments, or contributions for staying at home then they shouldn't get any experience ... lol We are welcome to suggestions for alternatives of course ;) (and receiving suggestions from those that wish for a game with multiple play-strategies)
- On Frogboy's post: really cool. Wonderful that SD is making a game only for PC, using that fact to the max. Can't wait to see what might come out of it. - I have to agree with Cephalo that now the next beta still has to accomplish to find the fun - and I don't mean for the total gaming experience (with graphics etc) but really for the basic mechanisms. What is worrying at this point in time is that we still don't know much about e.g

Well, I am glad that there would be support for Dungeons. I would certainly like to have some "simple" dungeons (just a single map) with several quests inside. (kind of like the Fortress of Grey Wardens ... where there are internal factions and you are suggested to team with one or the other)
