Personally not sure its worth complicating the Item Vault further than A) existing from the start B ) being accessible from any location C) a convenient way to store extra items. I mean, you can already store a TON of items for a single hero. I don't think its much further abstraction, and decreases on the tedium of a 'true' item vault.

Yea BarxBaron .. I only started actually playing the FE beta a few days ago. Right there with ya about being skeptical about the whole process. Also there with ya about being pleasantly surprised once I got into an FE game.
So ... how long are you planning for the game to take? (or how long will it take for the AI to get to phase III, heh) (in 0.77), its already 200 AC (turn 400-ish), and I feel like I've only begun to enter phase II (medium map) But honestly, I kinda like it. I mean, its fun spending hundreds of turns exploring and leveling (I've only met 1 civ so far in my two games ... at turn 400-ish on each. Took about 10-20 turns to kill him too, would
Well, the thing is that Intelligence doesn't seem a 'good enough' choice. And if all it does it make your 'slow' spell more likely to succeed, then I don't blame them. I don't mind having the evoker traits, I mean they could either be less effective or just do something different, but I think making Int and Dex stronger is a bit more important than keeping all the traits just for the sake of keeping them. (that being said, I like traits, but new one
What is the main thing which made DA2 worse than DA:O? I haven't played DA2 (or bought it yet) but the story seems decent (although I am dissapointed it doesn't seem like the hero ventures into the 'shade' like in DA:O. very interested in the Black City :) )
I think someone is biased against numbers ;)
Remove evoker and make INT enhance spell damage.
Sounds good, I suppose.
I see that monster lairs will spawn monsters but ... do unsettled forests also spawn Wolves + Bears? Do new monster lairs spawn occasionally? this would be good to know :)
I would like EFE to be the best of Civ IV, King's Bounty, Master of Magic, Heroes of Might and Magic, Tropico, and World of Warcraft. Is that a good suggestion?
I'd prefer the best of Civ IV(FFH2), Medieval2: Total War, and Warhammer40k ;)
Well, I think Dex could easily cover both Accuracy and Dodge (at least in part, all units need some level of accuracy, regardless of Dex) meanwhile, Magic is an entirely different story :( Do we have intelligence be everything? Resist, Power, Magic Defense, Magic damage boost? Somehow I think giving everything to intelligence might be too strong. Fireball is already strong enough with Evocation III, do we need to add an intelligence based damage boost to
They disappear? they yea, need a global vault (I guess may be accessed at any time, from any where?)
The middle class, the 99%, loses out in that equation but the 1% profits handsomely.
Its more like the lower 30% lose no matter what, the middle 69% are slowly combining with the lower 30% to become the lower 99%. Although I'm sure at least 10% or so will retain that 'middle class feel'
I marvel every day at what it costs in this country to get a job. When I was going to grade school, over half of my teachers didn't have actual college degrees--they had a 2-year teaching certificate they got at the regional teacher's school; now you have to have at least a bachelor's degree for that. My late sister was an RN before she got sick and she got her degree at a 2-year technical school...now you have to have a
I guess we could have a global 'item vault' that is attached to every city. So you could drop of extra gear at any city, and pick it up later. Not sure if its needed (at least early game) but could reduce late game clutter :)
Well, I had a cousin whose father didn't communicate with her for years because his 2nd wife didn't like (my cousin). Then suddenly he wanted to talk with her at her college graduation. Yea, that didn't happen. (its a permanent break by this point). I'd say, whether you allow him to visit or not, keep in close contact.
Or maybe per-city waypoints for newly created units (for the human to use)... not sure if we have enough cities for this to be an issue, but still :)
I think for Resolyn, we should either increase constitution, intelligence, or Dex by 2. I would suggest either +2 to intelligence for lore, or +2 to constitution for balance. (or +1 Int, +1 con) Also, I agree that Dexterity should perhaps affect Accuracy in some way. (in a similar way how Strength normally affects attack?)
thank you :)
gets me every time.
I look forward to playing Beta 2.
Being able to do everything limits tactics. sometimes limiting options increases tactics (do I engage yet since I don't have a healing spell? maybe I should weaken the unit with ranged attacks first ...) Maybe give that Troll ring to a mounted or skirmisher hero (although yes, if it could be coded that a single tile 'retreat' is possible, that would fulfill the niche of interposing units without creating new exploits)
Personally I kinda like how champions are in 0.77 Its the coolest when its just 1 Sovereign + 1 or 2 backup champions ... once you add more than that it starts to feel a bit cheesy ... although I dunno, maybe its just because on both my normal games, on normal settings (medium map), I've only met another nation once, (albeit I slaughtered him after about 20 turns), and I was fine with that. Its really fun just having 1 or 2 champions + a few units go
