Interesting ... Well first, only those with "Serpent's Pact" are supposed to be able to build Dragons and Nagas from beast lairs. Second, it does seem logical that there should be some sort of 'limitation' on when you can build the lair ... or even simply the growth and strength of the unit involved. Once there was an idea circling around (pre WoM) about the various stages of a dragon's life. That you could recruit them/bui

except pioneers are not very important in the late game? :P
3 move pioneers wouldn't be so bad ... but I can see how they'd be move 2 as well.
I would agree that simply "shedding the body" to become a robot/android/AI or whatnot ... (part of a machine) would simply be transmogrification and not transcendence.
Hmm. Special techs that are unlockable through quests ... as well as traits that give 2 techs (1 now, 1 much later) would be an interesting way to introduce "random" techs of a sort into the game.
I think the question was 'should' not 'could'. If we could I don't think we should ... the depths of the universe may drive us insane :p
Hmm ... perhaps Trogs could have this "Bushido" type ability? Would certainly make them a scary bunch :D
Wouldn't that be closer to output? hmm.
Hmm. Well I think it would be cool if Champions could be attached to units as "Captains" or "Commanders" of that unit ... but I can see how initiative could become a bit of a problem.
The specific plan is as follows: The city hub gets 1 tile. As a city grows, it would add 1 sub-tile based on the city's specialization. Each faction would have their own look and each specialization within that faction would have its own look. So at a glance you will be able to tell what type of a city it is and how big that city is. A separate screen will display the bustling full city. This allows us to add a
I think the main flaw in changing the system would be ... how can I build towards forests and rivers now? To get the special bonus bulidings? :p Would make initial city placement a lot more important. (unless docks and lumbermills can be built independent of cities now ... or can be built in the city if the 'Influence' of that city reaches a river or forest) Overall I'd say that I think such a move would be an improvement on the system. I agr
So outposts are blocking city settlement? Someone should report that bug with a savefile.
Hehe ... new DLC for each ending perhaps? :p watch it be "buy this DLC to watch the cinematic epilogue!!" 5 dollars for a cutscene? [e digicons]:X[/e]
True. Its probably best if the Campaign doesn't unlock anything usable in sandbox/multiplayer ... Hmm. While I would like all my toys available for the Sandbox ... Starcraft 2 DID allow for extra units and upgrades in the campaign as opposed to multiplayer ... But ultimately I think its just because that is the type of game Starcraft is ... its designed for professional multiplayer. Meanwhile, in a game like FE, every in-game asset should be usable i
Quoting Natjur, reply 7(as long as the AI never turns my city into a volcano)Precisely. I hope Volcano and other nuke spells, are medium range - many turn casts, for which our sovereigns can detect and have opportunity to eliminate.
Indeed. In this way, 'nuke spells' would only be a tie-breaker .... or rather a way for the human/AI to win if there is only a single obstacle in thei
First Part Hmm. Part of that article makes an interesting point. Many nations have laws banning the advertisement and marketing of youth (especially small children), yet such laws are not in place in the US. Not just video games, but fast food, cereal, toys, etc. Marketing towards youths should be severely limited if not outright banned. As far as video games g
I think that there should be no multiplayer 'bonus' for finishing the campaign. Maybe playing through the campaign could unlock an extra faction, or an extra race, or a few more options in the "Custom Factions" screen ... but it shouldn't give any actual BONUS to multiplayer/sandbox unless that bonus is simply more options ... In the spirit of unlocking new Racers in a racing game, or a fighter in a fighting game, except that none (for FE) should be OP ... ju

Text Based adventures would be a nice idea for an expansion :)
Sounds kind of nice ... Civ IV BTS and FFH2 had this in a way ... announcements when Wonders and Heroes were built (recruited). If you knew the Civ, it said the civ name. If you had visibility on the city, it said what city it was near as well. Meanwhile, if you did not know the civ, you got the "in a faraway land" bit.
Dispel should probably at least cost double the attacking spell, and should probably take longer to cast. (or the same amount of turns). That being said, Offensive spells should have some sort of mana maintenance (of at least 1 ... I think they do? do they not?) and expire if the nation runs out of mana (or if the Sov decides to undo it for any other reason). Offensive spells should also, as nomorebeef says, take multiple turns to use.
Take Shogun and Shogun 2 on Brad's list for example; according to that list Shogun 2 is only 2% better than the original - that's outright nonsense.
New iterations are usually judged more harshly than the original. Either that, or they are judged on a new set of standards. Each year the standards are a little higher, and FIRSTS get a lot of originality points. The original Shogun was a masterpiece
I can, however, do something for the majority who think FE is already at a 6 or 7 and bring it up to an 8 or 9.
Very nice!
