I think if the game was released (polished) at 0.78 it would get a 5.5 or 6/10. I think if it was released at 0.86 it would get a 6/10. While we are playing with the different pieces of the game, I think it will shift between an average of 5.5 and 6.5 based on personal preferences (of the masses). The key aspects that will bring it from a [5.5-6.5] to a [7.5-8.5] or higher will be as following: 1. Meaningful choices (truly unique p

Hmm. Alright, I suppose now is exactly when they need to start the preview buzz ... all the talk of reviews made me think that they were allowing journalists to write actual REVIEWS about the game, which would be a bad thing imho. But certainly pre-game hype and buzz from Stardock itself is a good idea at this juncture
My head is spinning. Really. Because... The bad news is the good news. Give us a beta when it/you are good and ready. Okay, I'm a little sad to wait another week to play a new iteration - but I'm very happy also because I assume that means it really is going to be new and worth playing/beta-testing. Last thing I want is some buggy piece of crap. But the good
Ever play Settlers of Cataan? By that logic you should never trade in that game either, except that trading is often the best way to win. As long as a trade is mutually beneficial, both parties will come closer to winning and thus have an advantage over the rest of the players in the game. Your theory on trading only works in a binary system. Of course you should never trade with a direct rival or a warmonger that has shown his true colors. <br
The screenshot looks like there is a battle going on in the strategic map ... hmm .... maybe its just my imagination. Maybe its just to test all possible angles of the game :p

I'd agree "more naval AI mod" is the best because its well ... base FFH2 (Kael) stuff with ... better AI ;) although other than that, I like Magister Cultuum mod, Tweakmod, the early Wildmanas (before becoming Master of Mana), and of course my own mods :p
I don't think Champions should die (at least in combat) ... But I think you should CAPTURE champions when you win in combat (only if you ALSO have a champion in your army ... aka if a champ beats a champ, they make a capture, but if Soldiers beat Champ, champ runs away. Sov always escapes). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ That way, once you capture the Champion, you can either release him (+V
I tend to think of it this way: have you ever had a disk crash on you, or you lost your USB stick, or some moron deleted all your critical files your entire project depended on? And you yelled and screamed and banged the computer, but in the end you just had to redo the entire project? But you get it done the second time around much faster, and it ends up being better than the first time around. In fact,
As far as ascending armor types Leather early leather/animal hides -> available from the beginning of the game Hardened Leather-> early game Studded leather-> a few techs later Specialty Hide Leather -> Troll Leather/Dragon Leather/ Skath Leather, w/e ... available MidGame + or so Chain early Chain-> early game heavy Chain -> mid game reinforced Chain -> mid game ++
Oh I forgot Path of the Rider! I'll add it to my post via edit :p Path of the Rider (better usage of mounts, more HP with mount, more Initiative with mount, possibly more movement with mounts) --> Nomad/Horse Archer --> Cavalier (focus on armored+melee usage of horses. Focus on Lances and possibly swords as well) Cavaliers should probably be allowed to equip Spear + Shield (or Lance + Shield) if it is not allowed for infantr
True. If you have metal, you might want to skip leather and just go to Chain and/or Plate. (I think Chain might should be a prereq for Plate though?) meanwhile if you don't have any metal, you might want to go down the mundane leather path (or even magical leathers as well, if you have that option-> aka Tarth) (with potential upgradeable leather types, Chain types, and Plate types ... other than simply X and Masterwork X) Fo
Maybe the road should be to the nearest 'enemy' city rather than their capital? :)
Hmm, perhaps the proportional difference should affect the 'clink' chance? Personally though, I don't mind there being a distinct *difference* between a questing army (good for killing super beasts), and a warfare army (better to handle the mass of peasants with) So personally I don't have too much of a problem with it :) I think the *main* problem is not enough HP in general (at least at low levels) which causes a severe glass cannon syn
Path of the Warrior -> Path of the Swordsman --> Bladesmaster (Sword Saint/Samurai --> Can be the best sword path, but requires a lot more levels to fully unlock) --> Duellist (unarmored, the 'skirmisher' of swords) --> Fencer (armored) -> Yes I know fencers are normally duellists, but Valkyria used it and I don't want to use the word "Knight" -> Path of the Archer
I think that the *time* it takes to build units is fine, just the maintenance that is bad. Meanwhile, buildings should both be more meaningful and take longer to build (at least the early game buildings). --> Now some buildings imho already take too long to build, (at least for what they are worth), but in general I think buildings should be something you need to invest in. (I'm not sure ... maybe investment should
Hmm. Having a court with titles is an interesting idea (names taken straight from Crusader Kings II I see :p) ... but before we consider it I think we should take a step back and see if a court is even possible. I DO think that we should be able to unlock more administrative abilities (Path of the Governor etc), but I think a full court at this time is somewhat beyond us (perhaps). ----------------------------------------- In Medieval 2 T
I don't think penalties for switching the que around really add much to the game. It just falls under the pitfall of noob traps. It doesn't fall into the 'easy to learn, hard to master' category but rather the 'hard to learn' category. I think Bread vs Butter is an interesting choice but please make the build ques more flexible.
The Title is not meant for you to write the main post in, that's the purpose of the main body of the thread. Let's ignore the fact that there is nothing to discuss in your title as you are just stating your opinion and don't add arguments for Stardock to consider why they should accept your suggestion as something to implement/change. Which is the same as me making a thread titled "FE should allow me to order pizza online"
Well, the function to retain spent resource already exists in the Tech tree. Should be relatively easy to retain production spent on buildings.
Yea ... It'd be nice to be able to have a more flexible build que. Like for instance I'm building a library, then half way through I want to switch to a unit ... and then continue the library again.
Currently its #units*cost/100 if # units is A, and cost is B then ... A/10+B/200? Or perhaps ... A/10 + A*B/500? Could be played around with, but the two I am essentially proposing are A/C1+B/C2, or A/C1 + A*B/C2
