Hmm, I like the idea of an Idol to the Blood God of Khorne being buried under a particular plain, and if a certain number of murderous deaths occur atop the plain (warfare/massacre) it will fuel angry demons to be released/appear on the map near that area.

Im not sure that "Counter Spells" should have their own book of magic, but I think that each book of magic should have its own unique flavor of Counter Spells. Perhaps counter spells should only be available in Magical Books that are readily available to anyone who seeks to invest in them (aka in each, or most elements .... other than Death/Life or inclusive?) Probably Water and Earth have more Basic defensive/protective spells, and Fire and Air have more inventive spells. May
In that case, it is the CEO's preference. Although, Hex tiles would be nice to play with. I seem to have forgotten that East-West is straight in a Hex map as well. having only North-South axis as non-straight seems to lean me slightly in favor of Hex maps. However, to state non-straight lines as "The nature of the Beast" is amatuer and rudimentary at best. I understand your point, but still ... In any case, I used to play BattleCry with Hex maps, and that worked wonderfully (a
Ah, so Prestige will reign over Population Distribution ... not only within your Own Nation, but also Globally?? Very intersting ;)
Its largely symbollic. In any case, I would love it for my Sovereign to Grow Wings at some point, that would just be cool. And to then grow a scaled forhead, with scaly protruding eyelid-like eye coverings, and slited Snake pupils for glowing yellow eyes ... hmm sorry? Oh yes, I quite love customization ... I just wish there was some High-End magics to "enhance" our sovereign's physical form, even if it was purely cosmetic (although it would be nice if the wings allowed flight, and th
Yea ... in the end it sure is nice to be able to actually move in a straight line ;) ... of course, with squares there are MANY MANY different ways to reach point X in the same amount of turns as going straight. Of course, the nice thing about squares is that you can actually GO straight, instead of have to constantly zig-zag.
Apparantly the Tone rebellion is about leading an army of jellyfish to deveat the Leviathan. I'll certainly give that its unique ... Ive heard many good things about Ascendancy though.
Hmm, I suppose we could have pearly-white skinned, and feathery winged demons to add to the general fiery red and spikey demons. In fact, we could probably include the fact that most demons have pearly-white skin, many feathery wings, and are STILL surrounded by flames and have multiple eyes and mouths. To me they both have their coolness factor, although to actually have a DIVINE battle between God and his most powerful creation ... well I think we know who would win, but still it'd
@ Outlaw, setting the import/export levels of food would be nice, although I don't think we are even having an economic system with that option. Its simply a hard Resource-Availability-Per-Turn from each networked source. This is why the Concurrent "Global Food/Pop Cap" idea is probably the most elegant and fits into the current system with the least amount of fuss. We have been told by the dev team that the mechanics of the game can be changed fairly easily (as opposed
I for one don't want elites to have as much power as demiansky might be thinking of. In real life it only takes a man and a sword to kill another man. And beyond that if one side has two men and two swords, the victory is all but certain. Also you can count on me using magic to wipe out or charm your elites until you either rage quit or sign a disfavorable treaty.
BUZZ. KILL. but anyways, it takes more than two men
Yes, life starts as Barren deadlands, but I assume from screenshots that the Empires will spread a very populous and diverse land, however it will be twisted, demonic, ashen, and vile. The Kingdoms, when spreading of their land, will be more "normalized" with the occasional Dire Animals, and maybe a Troll. Of course, im assuming Mountains, Swamps, Deserts, and Jungles are largely unaffected ... although I could see the latter 3 becoming some demonic form of its normal counterpart. Kingdom swa
No ... the biggest way to stop spamming is to make FOOD a global resource, shared amongst all cities (based on Prestige, to the limit that the housing will fill). If Food is global, and City-level Thresholds are made much Higher (as I understand it), then City spamming will not be a problem and a gigantic size-5 city will be a true accomplishment. as it currently stands, it seems every city can grow large if they truly wish to. I say that without some serious Re
I think that Food should be a global resource. All other resources are fine as currently implemented, but Food as a global resource could really accomplish something here. Food should be something worth fighting over, and although you can research farming techs to get more efficient farming, or can farm in more places, ALL levels of city should have access to these new types of farms, and There really should not be enough food to go around. You can have a level 1 settlement with 3 or
Okay, so in a way my idea was only expanding the Idea of Prestige in a way? See, it seems to me that Prestige controlling growth-rate/birthrate/immigration rate, is completely included into my City design. The only extra depth is that Prestige would ALSO hold a great deal into population distribution ... within one nation. Lets say that City A is 50 prestige, and City B and C are both 25 prestige. Assuming that there is infinte housing (and enough global food) City A will have
Did you decide to randomly have a sub-internal debate about Pancreatic Cancer within a Political Thread?
Well, if someone is going to go with an idea, you might as well make it the best sort of Idea. Im still not sure if I want that in my basic "core game" of Elemental ... but if my idea for the Astral Plane was implemented than it would be (imho) hella awesome. Especially combining the idea that the Big Baddies in the Astral Plane can be anywhere from a lowly ghost to the MOST POWERFUL THING IN ELEMENTAL!!!! type of deal. For once, I could actually play out my desire to Storm the Black
Indeed, your coverage of essential points was quite excellent.
Empires use Death Magic, and Kingdom use life magic. Supposedly this makes the Eastern Empire lands to be Blackened with Ash and roaming with Vile, twisted things, as well as Cool and Powingerful creatures. The Kindom's land looks more harmonius, and is a true restoration of the land to its Original State. It could potentially be said that while there is a birth-rate in the Kingdom, there is a Death-rate in the Empire. Emperors would be more concerned with how quickly people are dying
same, probably better suited for the expansion pack "Elemental: Planes of Torment"
Yes ... and, at least with Prestige being the only factor of Pop distribution, the city with the Highest prestige gets to hoard the food and starve off last. Only cities can't really starve past the natural forage rate ... like 10-50 people. I suppose you could also Prioritize which cities hoarded food moreso during an emergency via City Governor, but in most cases its Prestige that (ideally) should handle such things. Assume the Nobles bribe their guards to send them all the
Hmm ... I would say that a Massive slaughter would definitely be more advantageous to the Death Channeler than to a Life Channeler ... sure the life channeler might have the advantage at the start of the battle, but once peoplrre start dying, the Death Channeler gets more and more powerful, until he is more powerful than the Life Channeler. As you say its all about timing. Life Channlers have a greater peace-time advantage, and a greater advantage for protracted wars with low Casualties.
Hehehe ... instant mana recharge wether the Oppenent's army is being slaughtered ... or even if your OWN army is being slaughtered. Perfect Equation for the Evil Sorceror sending his people's to their deaths. "Ha! you have defeated my army, now I shall DESTROY YOU!!!!! muahahahaha."
Well, if the Succession system is used, and there are no avaiablle generals to control it .... If there is someone by marriage or birth that is affiliated with the City, they are the appropriate Governing Rank, and belong to Nation X ... the city belongs to nation X under that family affilitated CHampion. If there is no such marriage/birth based succession leader on the OTHER side, but there is on YOUR side, you could choose to keep it with a large inefficiency, or abandon the city, o
Only a little volcanoe bubbling up in City-Central(city square) as oppposed to the whole city being destroyed xD
Well, as I have said before, each city should be allowed *some* population regardless of available food. Probably some low number close to 10-50. Any increase in growth beyond that should be directly tied to food, while the rate of growth, and the Distribution of Population should be Directly controlled by Prestige. Prestige is the First factor of where Citizens will go, Housing is the second factor. The amount of food determines the number of citizens in the empire (beyond the first
