I liked the idea of a one-time transformation of ONE shard only, into the element of your choice. Personally I think it should be a permanent change, one that you can only Undo Once, and after that you cannot re-form it. for instance, you have an air shard, want fire. Change the Air to Fire. Then you capture a Fire Shard, and want to use a Fire/Air spell. You can undo the enchant and it will once again be an Air shard, but now it is permanently an Air shard.

Well, there could be combat magic specialists instead of Ether magic specialists. Consider this ... you could either cast Fireballs, Pillars of Fire, Lightning Storms, and Tsunamis (powerful spells, wide area of effect) OR you could have self-enhancing spells only. Like greater-Ultra Magic Shield, Greater-Personal Levitation, Greater-Haste, Greater-Blade Quickening, Greater-Health Restoration .... and also some personal ranged spells like Chain Lighting and Flame finge

This sounds like a really good idea. Occaionally I have had FFH early-games when I either declare to "capture all the lizards" or "crusade against the lizard kingdom" usually I decided to "crusade" against the lizards, by fervently hunting them down and exploring their lizard lairs, even at my own possible detriment.

I don't personally mind building a "spread sheet" sov, if I get to have enough customization to make him distinctly unique. Wether that is by backstory (only useful in Role Play MP games) or some unique mechanic I get to add in that normally isn't available. For instance, there is a "hidden" backstory, or something ... Hopefully Player created, were a certain combination of Talents and Weaknesses allows you to buy a Hidden Talent or Profession. In this way, you can create your own "ex

Le sigh ... if I was able to play a LAN game of FFH so that we don't have to worry about OOS ... I would be in paradise. I mean, just 6 or 7 pure days of playing through all the mods and modmods (or at least the good ones) and playing with long games, lots of AI, ect ... not having to worry about OOS. I wonder if the Hyborem switch would still OOS? And also ... no LAG!!! oh the glory, oh the celebration. And the person in the rage-quit position (or outright killed) can take a

Yea dats cool. I also like the Dungeon Quests/ a la Calebethon/ where its an underground (smaller) minimap. with Quests and enemies within the minimap. Such dungeoneer quests should probably be much more rare than the smaller or more land-map based quests, especially considering that the "Dungeon Quest" itself has several smaller quests contained within.
Why shouldn't an outpost cost maintanence? If all it is is an outpost with no infrastructure of its own, it would logically need to import all of its supplies for the small number of people living there.
what I suppose I mean is that an outpost (level 1 city) should only ever cost 1 gold in maintanence, and not be included in the official "city count." If our "actual cities" are going to cost ever increasing maintanen

Allowing for a Round Table diplomacy function would be interesting. Maybe in SP having the egalitarian racial trait allows it (in addition to egalitarian's normal benefits), while in MP anyone can use it.

Ok, so I played Making of History demo off of Impulse. The WWII campaign or whatnot. Now ... here is the thing. EVERYONE in that game is losing food and goods, while MOST of the world powers are making excess Coal, and alot making steel, and some making Oil. The point being is that EVERYONE is making alot of Industrial Resources and NO ONE is making enough food to avoid starving. Is there something im missing??? Cause if the game is this flawed no way I would buy it ... as add

I don't think equipment should be cosmetic ... but maybe you can make their card FIRST (which is totally cosmetic) and then actually assign their equipment in flux. This way, you don't need to make a new card every time you "upgrade" your Sovereign, and you can have the card that you think looks the most cool. In addition, actual equipment purchased should cost Sovereign Points. Later in the game, when you get better equipment, you can simply upgrade. **Actually, now that I th

Yea, we definitely need a "Raze City" option, at least upon capture. Also, I think level 1 cities (outposts) shouldn't cost any maintanence, and that further city levels cost 1 gold each. (so a level 5 costs 4 gold). I finally managed to build an apartment, or at least order one to be built, however Im confused, as I could of sworn building apartments was impossible yesterday. In any event, the tech that finally unlocks it doesn't even SAY it unlocks it IIRC. Also two different techs

I think if you defeat a Champion/Sovereign in battle you should have the option of "capturing" them instead of killing them. With the option, of course, to torture or kill the champ/sov at any time during the turn, and torture should have maybe a 5% chance of death. In this way, you can capture an enemy's son or daughter, and hold her hostage as a political/diplomatic tool.

I honestly don't mind SuperStacks as long as they are slower. Not just on the Strategic map but also on the tactical one. What do I mean by this? I don't mean that units will move slower, but that a smaller army can retreat at almost any time (if it is small enough). Dragons and other large units wouldn't exactly be able to do this (for balance purposes, although it would be nice) ... but small ambushes could come in, chop up a corner of a super stack, and retreat. Most of the basket is intac

I think the bigger picture is that Soldiers are currently seen "by the game" as Sovereigns. IE the default Unit is a Sovereign, and thus all new soldiers are sovereigns. The only difference about these soldiers is that they cannot level up, use items, or cast magic. I mean, think about it. 40 HP, 15 Essence, 1 Mana regen? SOVEREIGN! A soldier shouldnt start with 40 HP regardless!!! Maybe beta 1-H will have the default unit to be a peasant with 10 HP, as opposed to the Sovereig

Oookay. Well yea, I mean ... yea. I suppose your right. And thats what I like about the game. However, I still thing the idea of spending turns to Train and Equip your sovereign on Weapon/Armor upgrades is "silly" and the upgrade should be fast and at little to no cost.

I'd like a slider on "some" of the traits. For instance, Ugly, Insane, Inefficient, Cowardly, Blunt, Cruel, Intimidating, Natural Leader, Organized. However ... the others are more like "one shot". I would not like to have a meter to determine how "lucky" I am. or how "Hardy" I am. I feel that certain people would be inclined to go 100% hardy or 100% luck to completely maximize a particular aspect of the game. I like maximizing a particular aspect of the game to an ext

I like the Idea of Spouses for Sovereigns to be Champions instead of "pin-ups" that remain in the capital. However, I don't mind the current system. I will use an example of the female Sovereign. Her husband is a man not inclined to fighting, instead he cares for the Keep in the Capital City. Occasionally he will travel by carriage to the location of the Sovereign, and there they will be maritally "intimate". If the Sovereign becomes pregnant the spouse will stay with her, until the b

hehehehe ... true dat. Well, as far as bugs, there are random bits of the map that decide to stay revealed. Also, disbanded units stay on the map. (although units that auto-disband from lack of gold properly dissapear) -> manually disbanded units stay on the map. Also I don't see a way to disband units that are inside the city. Also, from a UI perspective, selecting groups of units are Haphazard at best.
I mostly agree, I don't think upgrade should be free exactly though you should have to upgrade him which should take anumber of turns depending on availability or raw materials, just as it would for upgrading the equipment of soldiers.
Soldiers are an abstraction (usually) of multiple people. The sovereign is one person. The sovereign is meant to be uber, simply not *always* uber from the start. At the

I perfer option 1 as well ... spend some attribute points on your starting equipment. However, I think you should be able to equip your sovereign with items and equipment you find and research as the game goes on. IE, the Sov should have one of those "character sheets" that shows all potions, rings, necklace, pieces of armor, robes, cape, ect. This would have your stats in a lower left hand corner, and here you can pick different equipment, ect for your sovereign to wear. you could also refor

It probably would make more sense if the Child was born in the same tile as the channeler, but ah well, its much more conventional for the wife to remain in the capital, and thus that is where the child will be born.
