@OP Torchlight is a pile of kiddieland garbage compared to DIABLO II and can hardly touch a candle to the CHALLENGE of D2. They should just take out MP altogether. Nobody really plays it and it's just a waste of resources to include it in these types of games. Put those resources and time spent programming MP into the single player AI you promised you wouldn't take away from time on the single player game for multiplayer anyways Brad. So just can MP and let's get on with a great single player experience. ;)

What I didn't like about IV is just because you research something you automatically get it as a resource in your territory. In III you had to "fight" for some resources you researched. This was one of the best features of III but III sucked because it didn't have all the options of IV which made IV great like setting ai aggressiveness and turning on and off many different options to your liking. @OP go spend $6 on Master of Magic over at GOG.com and you'll definitely get your moneys worth until 1.3 comes out. Just stay clear of Age of Wonders except the first one as the ai in that series is horrible.

Try playing a game without champions and see how well you fair. That's what I'm doing and having a great time and a lot of challenge. I never did like champion building in these games anyway it ALWAYS unbalances the game as you build them up. You get powerful and the ai doesn't. So, just don't play with them and you'll be afraid....verrrrry afraid. lol
Nah we don't need multiplayer updates right now. Fix the CORE game first and maybe in a year or two they can work on multiplayer. No use jumping back and forth from one to the other and who cares about CivV's mper this is Elemental a GREATER game and it doesn't even need multiplayer really. They could give the money back to just the multiplayers and still comne out smellin like a rose in sales.
Master of Magic is still the best turn based fantasy game ever. Behind it comes Warlords III & IV which is a fast paced great fantasy wargame. HOMM II & III are the best of that series. Age of Wonders first game is the best of that series. Dominions III is merely ok, the ai is pretty lame and the combat is rather lacking in that mostly all you get to do is WATCH the outcome. Setting up before battle isn't that much fun. But, there is a mod where you can play against up to 64 ai oppone
