Playing on Normal... not really an RTS guy so I'm sure I'm doing things in a non-efficient manner... But damn, this game is hard... Cities are bewildering.. Basically, I'm just building anything and everything in each city as it is available. What I don't understand is when/why I can build some things in some cities, not in others, etc... I can barely afford to buy anything... Things
Weapons need more than just a damage type for anything interesting to happen, but I'm not expecting it. Simple RPS systems are brain dead junk for RTS games. Alas, we lack entirely the functionality for implementing them. No functional morale system, no flanking, no formations...
I am very perplexed about a good strategic\tactical system coming out of a map made of squares rather than hexes. It is very hard to try surrounding or flanking an enemy when you can o
Heavy (plate) armor is best suited for spreading a blunt impact over a larger area. Classic "anti armor" weapons are effectively piercing weapons like a bec de corbin - or even a sturdy spear.
I really don't care how things are implemented since mine is just a generic idea for a system. But the above is not correct, since certain blunt weapons were in fact specifically designed for attacking armors. Hammers for example didn't look huge dumb and flat like those desi

it would only make sense to develop a system like that to justify the great number of weapons present in this game. Aa a general rule light armors should e more vulnerable to pierce weapons (monsters and animals getting killed with a spear) and heavy armors should be more vulnerable to blunt weapons (a heavily armored knight is unable to avoid a hit from a mace or a hammer, while an animal would probably just dodge it, because those weapons are strong but slow... would you pick a hamm

Just change "green thumb" into "hunter" be kind - No grandma skills for heroes please. ("Family guy?") You guys don't use enough drugs. Go out, get laid![e digicons] ... There must be a compromise as a name for a skill like that between "family guy" and "hormonal fury" (besides the sovreign could be a woman not a "guy")
I'm all for PBEM being included but if im offered the choice of a turn based lan or internet mode with tactical combat and all the SP sandbox features functioning or PBEM as my only options then i'm going to vote for the former...
Sure, if I am offered the choice to have my friends around any time I want, for a LAN party me too... Actually half of the times I would just go out for a beer and meet girls instead [e digicons]:D[/e] ... My point is what works and if

Excellent but the hyperhigh mountains are very unpractical. They deform cities when they are built next to them and they are extremely annoying when trying to zoom in. They always seem to get in the way. It's a great job but I hope that in the next version you'll add a setting to keep regular size mountains. Cheers [e digicons][/e]

I completely disagree with the OP, not because it wouldn't be nice to have a copy of SP in MP version.... but just because that is IMPOSSIBLE unless it is done by email: This is my thread about the only way Multiplayer will ever work in this game: https://forums.elementalgame.com/397908 It basically explains that only PBEM can ever work and why. In fact PBEM wi
Is it just me or is this game so bloated and full of bugs that it's almost unplayable?
Is it just me or you have posted this without even having taken a look at the forum EVER? So... you are going to feed your empire by catching deer for 1000s of people?
Actually when I hear green thumb or hunter I imagine that the sovreign doesn't do all the hunting or the farming all by himself and that is only a small bonus on the overall food... But considering your profile pix I can imagine that all your thumbs and fingers ...a

All tech trees at some point allow to improve somehow a faction's military or to discover some sort of "unlikely allies" (spiders, darkling camps etc...) On that line, also the civilization tech tree could maybe allow to research an advanced tech that immediately creates a militia force which could appear in all city of the kingdom in case of attack, PROPORTIONAL TO THE POPULATION. Napoleon Total War has that: in case of attack cities that are faithful to the faction, part of the popu

A bunch of people you take from a generic group of workers and suddenly you decide to make them do something can hardly be considered "specialists". I mean they will become specialists AFTER you put them to work but while they are in that pool they are just a bunch of people old enough to work. If the word Artisans is not perfect either (because they don't work "yet") at least it attracts less attention on that paradox. You could maybe want to call them "workers", if the problem is th

Exploit is not the good term you areright, the good term is probably game breaking, because if I place teleports on to far sides of my empire and you do not I will have a huge advantage, which means that you'll have to do it too and so do all the other players. The game will all be about that, I am not saying that there is no strategy involved whatsoever, just that all games will end up being the same.

Another legend goes like this: you got to do the whole mission with your sovreign and I forgo wether the egg should be selected in the inventory or not but that was also part of the legend... Bah! i did manage to get the dragon once actually... Anyway it's a known issue, I am sure thet'll fiix it.

That's right! It would truly be interesting. In Age of Wonders they solved naval combat by just having ships shooting ballista shots at each other, with the occasional intervention of flying and swimming creatures attacking in melee. In that game missile units present on the ship do not shoot at each other, only the ship ballista does. personally when two ships get in contact in Elemental I would do something like Heroes of Might and magic, where the battle begins with the two

While I'd like differentiation beetwen champions, I don't think they should be uberfighters. I see them mostly as generals who should have skills to improve the performance of other units. But it's true that having champions specialize in different directions could add some fun. (goodgimp tell me that's not an actual picture of you)

Or since nobdy cares about this thread maybe navigation seems useless? ...Let's se why can it be so... 2 reasons: a ) There are no islands because the AI is unable to use ships b ) Let's see... what is the name of that overwhelmingly game breaking feature that makes all other forms of movement useless...? T... Tel... Telep...? I forgot.

I like the look of the land and the fact that it can turn into a full screen cloth map in a split second (but certain forests are hard to recognize when playing in the 3D map) I like the sovreign customization I like the fact that there are random monsters, which forces the player to keep units inside his cities (Actually this is the best feature in term of gameplay and something that makes this game truly unique, since having more or less random monsters would really ch
