I would be kinda scared to allow people to beta it after all the bitching they got last time they let out beta builds of elemental. People downloaded the beta then complained that it was buggy junk.
Nope, and that was part of the problem. In the beta for WOM most people talked about how awesome the game was. Very few people complained about the beta and they were quickly pounced upon by the others. Ulti

I'm just surprised stats such as intelligence or Charisma are not going to have effects on the spells. It makes you wonder what type of effects these stats will have at all on the game.
I apologize if this has already been asked and answered. I was wondering where acuity stats fit into the spells. Does Intelligence, charisma or any other stat have an effect on damage or number of targets etc for spells?
I hope you all are having fun in your game. I wanted to share a link to the Dominions 3 wiki. It is pretty thorough and should help with most questions you have. Here is the link: http://dom3.servegame.com/wiki/Main_Page Goodluck!
Love the idea. Make it so :).

That is the only place. I think now it is offered direct download in addition to buying a hard copy. $55 after all these years is a steep price tag, but the game is worth every penny. It comes with a 300 page user manual even. I have put more play time into it than Master of Magic and Age of Wonders combined... and that is saying a lot :).

That being said, rebuilding the data.zip is a pain and totally inferior to the default way. Sometimes it seems like they're making things like modding harder and slowly removing some minor features (which were kinda cool).
I think really what it boils down to is modding was thrown out the window. I've never even opened it but if you did a vid tutorial, I would try it out :).
Let's just call EWOM a failed beta. Scrap further work on it. Allocate those resources towards fixing memory issues and creating mod tools for the community in time for the Fallen Enchantress release. Thanks in advance!
I think it should be noted (and perhaps Jon has done this elsewhere) that while the DLL and scripting work is on the backburner, everything we're implementing on the XML-side for FE is being done with the modding community in mind. Many values for the countless new game modifiers are made accessible via XML, so while we may have only 1 use for a new system, Derek is making sure they're implementation can be used a dozen oth

It’s something we’ve wanted to do, but there aren’t the resources for it right now. The engineers have been busy working on implementing Derek’s new vision for FE and helping to improve WoM in recent patches. As Brad has talked about elsewhere, we’re currently hiring new developers to help out, but the priority for who w
Speaking as someone who's hardly a prolific modder, but at least a chronic dabbler in modding most applicable games I've played, I hesitate with Elemental for the same reasons. Mainly '2', War of Magic's current state and all the promise surrounding Fallen Enchantress encourages a 'wait and see' attitude; I take it for granted that FE will break WoM mods, while fixing many of the issues that any WoM mod
I'm very curious about this as well. When it comes to TBS games I am normally a prolific modder, but with Elemental I am afraid to dive right in for a couple of reasons. 1. I have no idea what kind of support for modding we are going to see in the future. We were promised a lot of things in the "official" beta, but I have a feeling we may not see those things. 2. How will FE break our mods? Will FE be so different from WOM that mods will have to be completely rewritt
I would like to see Stardock products on Steam. As it stands now, Impulse is the only thing on the planet that rejects my Visa debit card when I try to make a purchase. It took it for Elemental, but nothing I have tried to buy since then, so I have gone to Steam for all my direct download purchases including many that are offered on Impulse. Before anyone suggests it, I'm way too lazy to go through the customer service process with Impulse to get it working when on Steam the game
VICTORY! It is a pain in the ass to get it to work now, but it is possible! Here are the steps to change the medallion of a sovereign: 1. Place the image in elemental\gfx\medallions\ 2. Edit the CoreSovereigns.xml and add your new sovereign. You do not need to include the path when you specify the medallion picture. 3. Rebuild the data.zip. In windows 7 you will have to do this as an administrator. 4.
Looks great. I wish my windowed mode worked like his. When I deselect Full Screen and choose any resolution, I am given a static window that cannot be moved that takes up most the screen.
Looks like it might have been removed.
Ugh, first the large portraits and then the medallions? I am going to fiddle around with it a bit more and see if I can get it to work.
In one of the older patches, I was able to use an image instead of the pose for sovereign and champion pictures. I've decided to take another shot at modding and I noticed no matter how I modify the sovereign file, it still uses the pose for the medallion. Here is the code from the sovereign file: C:\Users\***\Documents\My Games\Elemental\mods\my mod\images\rangerb.jpg </Medallions
Forget the good game stuff. At this point I just want some decent modding tools to make a good game [e digicons][/e] .
YES! This is the way it should have always been. Nice job!
Awesome. I hope this patch fixes my crash issues :).
Great descriptions and concept art. It is obvious a lot of thought is going into this expansion. Thank you for sharing.
