I sue this to get around the 2gb limit since I have 8gbs in my machine currently. http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=112556
Thanks for the link. I will give this a shot. With the latest version of Elemental, it doesn't take long at all for me to run out of memory.

This is incredible, thanks for all your effort.
Release: Elemental: F (Beta was shipped as finished product) Mount and Blade Warband: C (Not terribly different from the original, but a decent improvement) End of 2010: Elemental: D- (A lot of bugs fixed, but the game has no direction or soul. Various aspects of the game have 0 synergy and a lot of the features I was looking forward to during development have been cut
I've been keeping away from Elemental for the last several patches waiting for it to get closer to 1.1 to give it another go. Wow, this game has come a long way! It actually works now, and is mildly fun to play, which is a big leap from the release. I really like the way the game is heading. Here are a few things I noticed: Building a sovereign has changed a bit. Instead of choosing elements, you choose schools now. This doesn't make me happy or disappoint me, the change is ju
Bah, nevermind. That is the 3d model with a different background right? =/
Very cool! I have one question though. How did you get the large portrait to be a portrait instead of an up close of the model? Thanks!
This wasn't an issue of PCs being difficult to develop for. This was an issue of a company releasing an early beta as a complete product so they did not miss a release window. Unfortunately the precedent has been set, so a lot of companies are doing it and will continue to do it because they think it is acceptable to deliver unfinished products devoid of proper testing as long as the other guys are doing it as well.
Seriously though Brad, you're like one of the best hype dudes around (this is a compliment). You know how to motivate people. Even though this game is a super turd I still get excited when you're like "Wait till next week when we announce this!! it's going to be amazing!" And then i'm thinking... holy crap maybe they WILL fix this game and then it turns out to be something even worse and i'm sad until you say again "Wait till my annoucement NEX
The whole "knowingingly" thing is just, frankly, bizzarre. What exactly would be the motivatin to release Elemental before it was "finished"? The typical game industry reason why games are released early is because it would affect their public stock price if they slip a date. That is, "the street" (wallstreet) expects public company X to generate Y revenue during Z quarter. We're privately held. We have no such pre
All the goals for 1.1 sound perfect. I'm finally excited about this game again.
I love it! Karma for you!
Raven X, I agree with pretty much all your points. You are misunderstanding me about what I mean by Morgan's actions though. What I meant was a couple of negative sentences sent him into a post deletion rage, meaning that he probably wouldn't have lasted long on the forum as the mod progressed because there is bound to be some criticism later on. Not that he would quit your team. As far as your mod goes. I think mods like the Dragonlance p
Forum activity will pick back up and it will be more positive. Right now a lot of us are planning waiting for 1.10 just in case the game is drastically changed before then.
I kinda wish the Stardock forums were laid out like Talesworld (Mount and Blade) in relation to mods, so the dragonlance team would have their own sub forum with stickies and everything.
I thought the main reason for using one thread is so it is easier for us to keep up with what you guys are doing. You sure you guys are taking the comments the right way, or am I taking them the wrong way? Either way, if Morgan took his ball home that quick, there was little chance of the project having a long life on this forum, someone would have criticized the project down the line and BAM Morgan would have been gone. Either way, the Dragonlance mod seems like an ambitious, amazing
The book is at a bookstore near you. We’re pretty happy how it turned out and the book takes place 800 years AFTER the War of Magic so you can get some hints and allusions to things coming up in the game world over the next several years. What about us nook owners? When do we get our content/content code?
Right now the AI doesn't have to scout, it sees everything on the map. You will see wanderi
If only J.R.R. Tolkien had accepted Kael's help...
This gave me a chuckle for two reasons. The reason you intended and the unintended comparison of Wardell to Tolkien lol.
I'm glad you guys like the story :).
Do the AI opponents have different goodie huts than we do? I started a new game and ran into an opponent. I moused over the AI sovereign and it said he was looking for "empty crates" or something, but he then proceeded to ignore 3 goodie huts (he actually went between them) and went off somewhere else. Needless to say I was happy to then get the goodies huts myself, but I don't think that a very intelligent opponent. <
You could use an image for the medallion and the portrait. I've tested the medallion and it works perfectly. I am not sure about the portrait but I remember Verga having a portrait in one of the betas. Here is an example of how it looks in game:
I plan on using those as magic technologies researched in game :)
