I chose "Man (Mutt)" as my race. My starting units looked fine. My new units are getting clipping in the chest and arms. It looks kinda weird:

First off, I'm not sure what the point of building Ironeers is. Very expensive, looks like a pioneer but armed like a peasant (ironically costing painfully more than both combined, if for 5 less turns). Second (and this is the bigger thing), I can't actually build them. They are in my designer but not a build choice...

I was trying to get a second picture for the halo bug I just reported, and was having trouble seeing the halo well in contrast... So I scrolled deep into the fog of war (and yes, that halo is quite visible there), and found another bug. I'm getting popups for goodie huts on the other side of the world. Not a huge exploit, but a definite bug. &nb

After completing combat with two bandit groups, I'm getting a red halo on my screen. It moves with my camera (so as the screen moves, the halo stays on the same exact part of the screen, not the same part of the game map. This is weird stuff.... I don't remember any such halo in the combat itself.

Just got 2 glitches in a row. I did one of the Bandit quests (this one inexplicably throws two separate bandit+wolf encounters. I would assume it should just be one encounter, either that foe or 2 bandits and 2 wolves). First fight, Janusk took no damage. The summary showed him as -2hp. The next fight he was all fit and raring to go at full life again. The second fight...well the screenshot will explain the bug: <im

I just finished a Bandit mission, killing some Darklings (not sure why there are darknlings in my bandit mission goal)... The game froze on a level-up screen for my sovereign, with a combat-move cursor (I cannot grab the cursor in the screenshot) : Screenshot is attached in case it's of any help. Not sure if it's useful without the curso

I'm finding every time I try to create a building, the game is permanently slowing down until I quit/restart. Some of the time it'll just crash when I try to quit. If I save, leave, and reload, then everything is just fine (with the building being built). If I undo the build command, slowdown isn't lessened. Here is the necessary information Crash File

We all would. Half the people who found this game have been following Stardock for it since the rumors that they would try to license Master of Magic for a sequel ;)

Why is it bad that the Fed is closing down illegal filesharing sites??? Because they're not all illegal. They're filesharing sites. The technology tied to filesharing (p2p) is amazing and just now being picked up by huge corporations. The problem with these sites is that it's not possible to look up licensing information of every torrent (you don't even know what's in the torrent) stored on them. The site would have to have employees download e

I'm getting this strange glitch when I try to change my sovereign's hair color. The color picker pops up (working), but doesn't disappear when I choose a color. Instead, it just continues to sit there. Eventually, when I leave the character creation screen (in my case with the Back button), I get the wait screen and a color picker. The application is otherwise frozen in the wait loop. (waited much longer than should be necessary).,

I spoke too soon. The error is "Invalid Call" and it seems to happen regularly enough when I alt-tab. I don't get any crash logs, either.

I just had my first Tactical battle that didn't go as well as I'd like. I killed two bandits, but not before Janusk got hit for 10 (all he had, I tell ya!) In the battle-end screen, it showed him as -10.0 right above him (again) as -7.0. Needless to say, he was still dead.

Alt-tabbing caused me to get a DirectX error. Then I tried it again loading a game and the video sequence (flyby of a village?) kept running forever. It seems loading screens are just hating alt-tab. Unfortunately I can't replicate the original crash... however I have no problem replicating the freeze-ups

I think tying a farm to the first city is a good start...the rest...I dunno. I got here in 3a, so it's hard for me to see food as my limiting factor (for me, Materials are always the problem)... however, the idea that food is scarce and heavily contested just fits the theme of the world. Just needs to be made more clear, with a few more options (I like how the empire can create its own food in small quantities, for example).

At this point, I say nix shards or just tie them to massively powerful spells. If you're holding the last remaining fire shards from an opponent who you know (somehow) just finished researching "Armageddon", fine. I'm not going to look for shards to summon Fire Giant, who happens to be no stronger than my swordsmen (and much more work to obtain). Perhaps if shards were only tied to powerful enchantments, and instead of generation, they were "utilized".

Here's a suggestion. Instead of placing the player near fertile land, magically place fertile land near the capital. Give it some essence--revive land--whatever story purpose, but make it clear of its importance by forcing its existence. Just my thought on this. Right now, we're stuck with a game that requires a certain opening that isn't well defined or game-enforced. If you fail in that opening, your empire is effectively

Let's be honest...retreating doesn't take more out of you than chasing. Better, retreating gives you a better opportunity to choose the fighting ground (to your advantage). A well-designed retreat is traditionally an extremely important tactic in war. If you have no ground to hold, you can fall back, regrouping in defensible territory... or you can break into a march after the retreat and meet up with your allied troops. Generally, giving chase to a retreat is a hu

I think I'm in agreement with Recnelis2 here. The essence cap (plus requiring other resources for good spells) keeps the power-level of magic horribly low, and the penalty for character-death equally horribly high. As mentioned a few times, the death of one character will ruin your magical potential for the entire game. I hate to compare this to Civ, but that mechanic just doesn't fit into this genre. The only way I want to find myself suddenly powerless is if someone

I, too, would love a Wheel of Time mod... it's perfect. The lore refers to a "Breaking of the World" where the world is in a state not entirely unlike that of EWOM. Men beginning to go mad channeling dangerous amounts of power, with the women with that power (although somewhat weaker) fighting to keep the world and civilization from being destroyed utterly. A culture of pacifists slowly falling from grace by the necessity of the dying land, and the nob

Playing an Empire game, I noticed I was unable to build parties. I had a level 3 city and picked up the first party technology. The box never un-greyed for a party of more than 1 unit. Also (possibly my ignorance), the "Imperial" tech tree was unbelievably short. I finished the tree off except the advanced "Majesty" line, but still had no better buildings than huts. I found that between the lack of housing and the higher pop-cap (500 for Empire w
