[quote who="Sir_Linque" reply="97" id="2865419"]Thormodr, my post was directed to people who wish a company goes bankrupt just because a game didn't meet their expectations. If I am treated bad, I will not give a company additional business unless I have a good reason to. Going out of your way to start a crusade against a company and spending hours upon hours on forums declaring how evil they are is another thing. I guess my feelings have a lot to do with me thinking that it's insane to waste

As part of a public company, 2K has a policy where only certain individuals are permitted to talk about the company and its games in public. The only exceptions to this are for special events, like trade show interviews. Everyone employed by 2K is beholden to this policy, and it does not expire after someone departs the company, regardless of the circumstances. Some people d

I was a playtester for Firaxis since Civ3, and know a couple (now laid off) members of the team, so I got some level of insight into their development team, and basically I think Soren fucked them by quitting, and left them lacking in real experienced staff. 2k then denied them any real resources to hire anyone with development experience, so they were force to promote an intern to lead developer. However I understand that most of the time these people are still too young to have met with the realities of working for a living and supporting a household. They also always have a very narrow and unrealistic view of how developing software actually works. If you realize this (or rea

An excellent thread indeed and thanks to Lord Xia. I'd like to see many of his and other people's ideas get implimented. I especially wish there was an easier way to protect your caravans. Maybe pay to have escorts for it or something or guard towers as someone already mentioned. I'd like to see champions that have various limited magical abilities. Some might be able to summon basic illusions or others might be simple clerics with a healing spell or two or maybe turn undead.

I think it unnecessarily divides the gaming community, and it has nothing to do with anything. People play the difficulty level that provides them the most entertainment value. That's not always based on skill. As for Civ IV, it's the only game that I can say I played for 5 years straight and thoroughly enjoyed. I certainly don't require other people
