I'm disappointed as well but I trust that Mr. Paxton and company knows what they're doing. I'd rather have a tight, focused fun game than a game that is all over the place and by trying to please too many people it ends up pleasing no one.

Ha ha! Stardock sounds like a fun place to work. [e digicons][/e]
Huge thumbs up for Transport Tycoon. Damn that game was fun. [e digicons][/e]
I found Civilization 5 to be more of a game. I found cIV to be more of an experience. Different tastes I guess. However, when I note that the AI doesn't like me since "You are trying to win the game the same way he/she is and they don't like it" that turns me right off.
The game is beyond hopeless. I played an island game as Japan. Though the AI built a reasonable force, it parket all the units on water in front of my city and waited there to die from ships and city fire. No attack, no maneuvering, nothing. And not once, but multiple times. A simple scripted event that went wrong, I guess (problably pathfinding of a unit failed, and the others got stuck behind it). The AI declares war, then you buil
Nice to see Stardock is continuing to update EWOM. :)
I like the idea of fishmarkets. I'd like to see much more marine action in the game. [e digicons][/e]
Nice interview. Glad the UI is going to be vastly improved. Looking forward to EFE. [e digicons][/e]
Looks like a cross between Dig Dug and Bagman. count me in! ;)
Sorry guys, it's disappointing on this end as well. Our first priority has to be deliver a solid, fun core experience. When we've accomplished that, it will give us the opportunity to flesh out the other parts of the game. As you all know, the launch of Elemental was rough, and being a small company means its impossible to address everything we want to at the same time. Jon
Thank you
Crappy news. One of the reasons I bought Elemental in the first place was because it promised great modibility. Hopefully they do find these new developers to do just that otherwise they need to change the game description. Key Features
Man, if this thread was on Civ Fanatics it'd be deleted so fast it'd make your head spin. One of the many reasons I love Stardock. They tolerate wackiness. [e digicons][/e]
Civilization 5 is still a mediocre game (or worse) in my opinion because it was released far, far, far too early. That bun should have spent at least another year in the oven if not two. 2K Games wanted to appease their shareholders and make their year end reports look better. Civilization 5's AI is not good at all. The gameplay is lacklustre and the diplomacy is horrendous as well. Frankly it just isn't fun to play. Speaking of Civilizati
I thought Kael said that by focusing on single player they could introduce some crazy stuff and not have to worry about multiplayer issues regarding balance. That sounds acceptable to me. I don't want single player watered down just so multiplayer is balanced. However, it would be nice to have some form of multiplayer. Even if things are unbalanced it could still be a lot of fun. That would be good for co-op style play w
Very cool stuff. EFE is going to look awesome methinks.
Alright, you tube works today. [e digicons][/e] Looks pretty sweet. Love the chasm and the dinosaur.
The video doesn't seem to play for me. :( All I see is a white screen. Bummer. EDIT: My computer seems to hate you tube today for some reason.
Looks good. ^^ I especially liked this part: Seeing a player with a huge amount of mana stored should be like seeing an opponent with a stockpile of nuclear weapons. It's not good.
Lord Xia is once again the voice of reason. [e digicons][/e] I have no problem with the decision to put most of the resources into E:FE. It will be a far superior game and it will be free. I can't fathom how anyone would think this is a bad deal.
I second the motion of gnomes on foxes. [e digicons]:bebi:[/e]
Good stuff! If this level of detail is carried over to all aspects of the game, FE is going to rock. Getting more and more excited. [e digicons][/e]
April Fools???
largely, i agree with crass_monkey. in sheer technical terms, elemental is as graphically powerful as it needs to be. strategy games don't need 10 billion poly models. even huge budget games like The Old Republic have realised that it is not always worth pushing the envelope any more. but i do think there are good arguments for questioning the dogma that everything that isn't an idie or retro tital should be sold at $50 (£30
Sounds good. ^^ Hope to hear all the nitty gritty details afterwards.
Count me in as another person that loves middle market games. I "discovered" Stardock with GalCiv II and was quite impressed. I now love Stardock games and I also love the attitude of the company. You guys genuinely seem to "get it". I've been playing Paradox Games since EU1. I love history, turn based games and historical what-ifs, so they are right up my alley. I love EU3 divine Wind and am having a blast playing. EU Rome I immensely enjoyed and Vic
