Quoting Thormodr, reply 17 Personally, I can't stand vapid FPS's, dull grinding MMOs and the plethora of crappy games that are all style and no substance. I like history, realism and complex games that actually make you *shock* *gasp* think. Pride of Nations is that type of game. Deep, complex and pretty realistic. That I find fun and interesting. In a day and age where so many ga

I'll give it a whirl when it gets released. Shame about the minor factions. Hopefully they can be brought back in the future somehow. All in all, it sounds promising though. + LOTS of code to handle the increasing costs in terms of people to run your improvements. If anyone thinks that getting highly talented people

Double post. Lovely. It appears these forums are too complex for me. Lol.
Well the issue was not 'complexity = bad' it was 'needless complexity = bad'. I can't comment on this game, because it doesn't interest me much for other reasons, but I really don't find many paradox titles to be engaging (yes, I know AGEOD is not Paradox...) because I do find the level of complexity too distracting, and ultimately pointless. Different strokes for different folks.<

Personally I'd be surprised if there is much AI work going on though. You've got to settle on how the game wors before you teach someone how to play it. Most of the problems I have with the AI would be more easily fixed by changing the game. Ie, stopping the player us
quoting post Anyway, this game is not for the faint of heart but anyone who loves historical realism and a deep, complex game would be interested. Best of all, it's only $20. It won't appeal to a lot of people I'm sure but it's a game I'm excited about. BTW, I don't work for them and I'm not a beta tester or anything. I just love history and grand strategy. ^^ B

Still turnbased though obviously...
Well, it is simultaneous turns anyway if that's what you mean. 2 more days until release. :P

I love you guys, but that name is just awful, I can't say it to friends with a straight face.
Fallen Enchantress is perfectly fine. I like it because it implies magic, darkness, corruption and danger. Sorry to hear you are so embarrassed by it. <img src="http://web.stardock.net/images/smiles/th

Yeah, as mentioned it's turn based which is nice in my opinion. Not a lot of good turn based grand strategy games out there these days. It also focuses more on realism and historical accuracy for the most part. Should be good for anyone who likes the Victorian time period and for anyone who loves history. A Jules Verne Steampunkish mod would be awesome as well. </
