I like the idea in general about divergent paths for WoM and FE. But, yea, I don't think there is enough resources to make WoM really good. But, also, you really can't work on teh AI until you have most of the game finished, so Brad working on WoM now really doesn't take any resources away from FE. I'm sure that Brad has everyone working on FE that needs to be right now. So, why not make WoM better. I

Gameplay and good AI>Speed. Within reason of course.
Not sure if this got mentioned already but M.U.L.E. was truly an awesome game for its time and a game I considered groundbreaking. [e digicons][/e] I think I'll play it again for old time's sake. ^^ http://www.planetmule.com/
Interesting article but it felt like it was unfinished and left me wanting more.
AI is the last thing you do. It doesn't do much good to code AI while the game is being significantly altered. I wouldn't want Brad to put real time into the AI before getting some real playtest time so we can get feedback on whats fun, what we need more of, what we need less of. The decision is, do we lock our design, do AI work, then release playtest for minor tweaks (mana cost o
Lol, the AI is Achilles' heel of WoM. And Stardock just making new shiny things for next game, "ohh, forget about ai programmers". FE is a priori an epic fail.
Thanks for sharing. Already condemning the game to failure before it's even released. Anyway, since you like Latin so much: Antiquis temporibus, nat
Some pretty interesting sounding monsters in that link, I must say.

That last post was painful. *Ow* [e digicons]x_x[/e] EDIT: It's all good now. Good post.
Would love to see something implemented along these lines with walls and sieges.
Beautiful stuff. I can see what you mean about Fable 2. There is something to be said about consistency. You make the artwork really come alive It sets a mood and leaves a wonderful impression. Seriously, you are on to something here. :) Hope the music that accompanies it is as good as the artwork. </
Fallen Enchantress and Torchlight II. I think Diablo III will be 2012 and frankly, I don't know about it. It looks great in some areas and not very good in others. Region locking is also super lame. Crusader Kings II is going to be awesome but I think that's 2012 as well. EDIT: I checked out that Skyrim. It does look pretty darn cool. Bonus points for the mammoths. ;)
I wasn't too impressed with much at this year's event. Torchlight II looks awesome though. :)
Tridus --> Why civ 5 is better? what example? AI is better in civ 5? I think is AI better in Elemental war of magic . No, there won't be a polish translation of WoM. I guess its not impossible that if it does well they could translate the expansion (FE), but there's been no suggestion it's going to happen either. How many technologies in Elemental? In game missing expanded encyclopedia ;/. -- Tho
Hello Thormodr You play more in civ 5? Thormodr ==> Which game better? Civ 5 or Elemental?
I play Civilization 5 after each patch to try it out again. It just doesn't do it for me, unfortunately. I blame meddling 2K Games. I think their vision of the game was not the same as the designer's. Marketing bigwigs and shareholders won out. [e digicons]#:([/e] <p
I loved the fights to win an elemental node from the guardians in MoM. ^^ That was one of the funnest parts about MoM I think. :)
Looks great. ^^ I like the system and love the UI. [e digicons][/e]
Looks pretty cool. I am liking the look of E:FE so far. A lot more character it seems. Glad to hear it's easily moddable as well. Win/win.
I must concur. I always thought that the :) smilie was a little disturbing. :P An update on magic would be nice when you get the time. E:FE is looking great. ^^
Looking good! I was just thinking that it had been awhile since we'd gotten some more info on E:FE. [e digicons][/e] Going out to recruit champions sounds good. High risk, high reward I think as the Fen Queen seems to be situated near the chasm/fissure. Could be dangerous to recruit her. Sounds like fun. I do hope that there are a few wandering champions though. At least the occasional one. Wandering minstrel or masterless ronin type of
Sounds great. Can't wait for the beta. In life, making mistakes isn't important. What you do after that is important. Stardock has shown integrity in owning up to what happened and is striving to exceed expectations this time around. This thread makes me happy.
Hello Azzazell, Nice to see you from the Civ Fanatics forums. :) I sure hope that the game can eventually be translated into other languages. I know there is a vibrant gaming community in Poland so it would definitely be worth their while. :)
Quoting Thormodr, reply 23 However, if a thread pops up on an upcoming FPS or something I have no interest in, I'm certainly not going to go in there and tell people, "Don't like it. It's boring. I'd rather commit suicide than play it." What the heck is the point in that other than to be a dick? I didn't mean to come off like that. I just said what I thought about it.<
I think they should keep tactical combat. It was super fun in AOW and it still could be in E:FE.
