There are a lot of positives for civilization as a whole staying out of space development. In society today, its a space race. Next thing you know, we'll have nukes in space. Go look up the rods of god program. Scary shit. Im pretty glad that NASA funding got cut. I hope all funding gets cut for all space programs. When it becomes cheap and militarily effective, we will have nukes and weapons of great variety just floating about in our orbit. I don't trust civilization with technology yet, we

[quote who="austinvn" reply="3" id="2521048"]I'd like to see something that boils down to rock-paper-scissors, but not quite so simple as the Civ4 system of "unit x is +50% stronger against unit y." This really removes gameplay choices rather than adding them, when you see unit y coming, you build unit x, end of story. What I'd like to see are units that are stronger in certain aspects/situations, which naturally leads them to be especially effective against certain other units that are weak

I've always had a problem with rock paper scissor combat. When it comes down to it, your strategic choice is focused around building more units than the other person, and building the counter of that person's units. If they have a lot of footmen, you build more archers. Its boring. Chess is a fun board game, but thats just it. Its not a videogame, its not a 4x game, its a board game with extreme simplicity that cant have bits and pieces applied to something as different as a 4x TBS game. Ive

I don't even want to know the mating rituals of the fallen. I was like 3 seconds away from asking until I remembered that they somewhat resemble goblins.

I am sorry to see the resource stockpiling is definitely out, I was still holding out hope that down the road that would be open to discussion. I won't rehash the reasons why I don't like the resource handling as it is; there is still so much about this game to love. If an

Did you ever consider that you don't have a clue as to how the ancients colonized planets? The seeders' mission could be to plop down gates on as many habitable worlds as possible, disregarding the location. The issues and benefits you consdier, may have been insignificant to the ancients. They may have been able to land a whole city with a static climate and weather protection right there, without hassle, right in front of a gate in the middle of a desert. We don't have enough informat

[quote who="Xan" reply="12" id="2504312"] Am I missing something? I didn't hear anything especially new or unusual in the video, except maybe that they're providing official servers while still supporting private ones, instead of doing either/or like most companies. Other than that, it looks like the same multiplayer matchmaking used by pretty much every game ever. You're kidding right? Name one strategy game that works like this. One. <p

I have never played Sins so this list obviously doesn't make sense to me. it doesnt even look good to me, and I never considered ever getting it. Hmmm. Interesting. Galciv didn't suprise me *nergasms* amazing game, and after getting more familiar with Civ IV, That doesn't surprise me either. I recently got into ANNO 1404 and I have to say its probably my new favorite game of it's genre and it definitely gives civ IV a tought fight on the strategy game front. I honestly thought fallout 3 was b

I am actually looking forward to the return of SGU because of that last episode. Who knows what will happen with the extreme change in circumstance. They don't have their lead scientist anymore! :D go stargate universe writers.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRnSVN_ITdg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yV3JswQi48 Fallout 3 had very unique settlements. I think it had to do with the whole theme of the game. The only people that were friendly existed in tiny pockets of civilization. Every place seemed so unique, because there were so few settlements that were even large enough to call a town. Each new experience was fresh and well recieved, like a gift or treat to add to your already unique experie

I for one liked the mid series finale episode. I thought it was one of their better episodes. It had an actual conflict instead of just petty drama. At least someone actually took initiative in that episode. Its not like everyone is just talking about their feelings and crying etc....they are leaving each other on arid planets to die...now that is what I am talking about, go cycle of revenge!

*slams head against desk repeatedly* WHAT HAVE I DOOONEEE!!! EDIT: Just remember kiddos, patriotism is a synonym for nationalism, a kind of mentality that basically consumed a majority of germany allowing for mass genocide to occur by the hands of those brainwashed by a power hungry leader. Oh, and before WWII, American students pledged their allegiance to the flag with their hands flat and their arms pointed to the sky like a communial "Sieg Heil"

I really, really, really want to see something involving your vassals such as: Lord Aersma: "My King! My King! A band of Murlocs(or semi-sapient creature x) have overrun Issus(city/town/village x)! They showed no mercy, not even for the children...I managed to lead 800 men and women back to your keep(75% of populationx), but we have no homes with which to rest the weary and wounded. Oh yes, I could definitely see this working in a feudal civilization structure, or manorial structure(kinda the same thing). I didn't see elemental as having these traits though, other than the vassalage system that seems more of an added feature than a core part of the game. Really, though, money has been used for more than 4,000 years, only during the darkest times of human history have a majority of the world's sedentary population used no kind of money. If I am wrong and Elemental
