I agree that the fishing sounds good.
No one else testing this...?
I'd consider confirming your findings, but unfortunately my laptop died a few days ago and the desktop I'm using to monitor the forums is too old to be capable of running the game. [e digicons]>:([/e]
On Windows XP, like another user said, it is in: Documents and Settings/All users.WINDOWS/Application Data/Stardock
On Vista the saved games are in: \Users\userid\Documents\My Games\Elemental\Saves
Well, it FEELS like we are still in Beta 1F. And by that, I mean where are the quests? Has anyone gotten a quest, and if so, where did you find it? Ive explored entire maps and researched nearly complete tech trees .... ????
There seems to be a problem with the quest files being placed in the right directory. See this post for a work around.
I reported this in this thread , and a developer said he'd fixed it in the internal build for the next driver.
Possible reasons - you need time to accumulate mana, and you can't cast spells if you have zero essence. The spellcasting system is still confusing to me, but at least when trying to cast the healing spell I found those two condidtions to be true.
Something that I think was new in .295 was that if you don't declare war via the diplomacy window, your sovereign gets transported back to your city.
After researching quests, a number of "quest huts" appeared on the map. If I moved my sovereign to one of them, I was offered a quest. So perhaps there are quests that require the tech and some that don't.
seems like yall have been in beta D a long time now
Yup, we're actually in Beta 1G now, but the header post in this thread hasn't been updated.
Yeah, I have a 17 inch screen on my lapop too, but I prefer to use my 24 inch external monitor. [e digicons][/e]
After I copied the quest files as you suggested in this thread , I was able to get quests, but as you noted I started getting them without researching the adventure quest tech.
Nice! I've been researching quests but never got one. Now maybe I can [e digicons][/e]
That's been reported before, although I can't find the other thread now. Anyway, it seems that the AI opponents are getting killed by ogres. I saw one get killed by an ogre (I was zoomed way out when I hit next turn) just before I had a similar conquest victory.
This has happened to me a lot, and initially I thought that here were 2 units stacked in the same tile, like DrGuppie. But after seeing it so many times, I've concluded that sabrestrikealpha is correct, and that this is a bug.
After somewhat less than 50 moves, the Victory window came up, presumably because the AI opponents had been killed by trolls, since I certainly hadn't done it. After clicking, I was then presented with the menu for New Game, Load Game, etc. Continue Game was one of the available options, so I clicked on that. I was then taken back to the game, but the next turn button was greyed out, and it was impossible to continue playing. I suggest that after a victory either t

I clicked on the icon for the sovereign at the center bottom of the screen, trying to bring up the sovereign details window. The game crashed. debug.err is here. dxdiag is here. memory dump is here.
I can't remember if this has been reported before. When the research window pops up, it looks like one of the techs is selected (in the example below, Training), but the text that shows what the tech unlocks is from the last tech researched, not the current one (in the example, the last tech I'd researched was Farming):
Debug Message: Map Random Seed: 1267990291 I don't know if it's related or not, but I seem to be getting more of these bad locations when I use a custom sovereign and custom race. Starting location surrounded by forests and mountains. There's an orchard and a mine nearby, but any city built here will have no place to build any housing. The only way out of this little enclave is over the hills to the southeast, and it's a 20 tile trek to the nearest fertile la
Or play in windowed mode, then alt-tab doesn't cause problems.
In my last game I discovered that after a crash and reload of the autosave, farms in my 2 towns were producing less food than they were before the crash, as if the fact that I'd researched 2 enhanced farming techs had been lost.
It's a bug with the loading of saved games. Also reported in this thread.
I hit a freeze 201 turns in, after pressing the space bar for the next turn. I had to kill the game with task manager. debug.err is here. Saved game is here. No memory dump. However, if I restart the game and load the saved game it doesn't freeze.
My custom sovereign is named Naba. My eldest son, named Johol, has just come of age and joined me in my capitol. However, when I bring up the tooltip for him, it seems to say his name is Naba, not Johol: Is that a bug?
