City building needs two things: 1) Some randomization among the graphics to make cities look like cities (and distinct cities at that) and not sprawling masses of tiles. Each tile is beautiful individually, but they don't mesh well. As the city grows, little roads should develop, people should be walking about, the tiles shouldn't all be facing the same way. That sort of thing would go a long way to making the citie

I'm pretty certain that most of the current crop of quests are placeholders. I doubt there'll be Inn's and Nobles littering the lands in the full version. Also the game takes place 200 years after the cataclysm; more than enough time for minor settlements and city states to have developed.

As I mentioned before, I'd really like to see weather effects on the stratergy map and in battles, but I doubt it'd happen until a sequel. I imagine it'd take up a fair amount of rescources to process the weather systems and stuff therefore going against the whole idea of the game being scaleable. Still, it'd be really cool...and I don't think I've seen a 4x game with active weather on the stratergy map before...
I'd have like to have seen weather effects in both the 3d map and in battles, with advantages/disadvantages etc. I just think that weather would add a whole new level of detail to the world and bring a bit more life to it.

We need to examine their dietary habits, the balance in the food chain, their favored climate conditions, etc etc. The cooperation of some creatures with others also becomes very questionable, judging from the natural instincts of those monster. 1) Those are my favorite kind of supplement books! I hope this obsession with the selling the book doesn't totally cripple the game. We already lost any chance of decent races because of that. The Map shows 8 Races. The game has 10 Races. How can the Book Lore *** up over the game if we get 2 more Races in the **** game? Seriousl

My only complaint is that the island the video started on just looked...weird to me...somehow [e digicons]X|[/e] Everything else looks great though. I had wondered why there seemed to be very few beaches in the latest screenshots and a large number of cliffs but the reasoning sounds great. Hopefully the whole beach-landing thing will make the island maps a lot more exciting.

Aaaahh beautiful memories, I love playing evil wizards.
There are still a large number of NWN RP servers up. I only wish NWN 2 had expanded upon the toolset/persistant world thing rather than turn their focus on to the single player.
Kinda Off-topic but I just want to point out to Infantes that some of the guys behind Titan Quest set up a new studio and have a new game on the way (which looks awesome) - http://www.grimdawn.com/index.php I believe the game is at least, partially fan-funded. Which is cool.

For hand made maps there could be a tile on the overhead map with a name, like "Frogboy's Triumph". If you engage in combat within x spaces of one of these special tiles that specific hand made battle maps would show up. The hand made maps would then be named an
I'd reccomend visiting the Keberos forums, as mentioned above the Dev's and the writer love to answer questions about the game, especially the writer, I think she's given in-depth answers to pretty much everything involving the lore - like what the other races think of each others food, all sorts of crazy stuff [e digicons][/e]
Aren't the random events there to help 'balance' the early game? e.g, if the AI or other players are involved in a lot of skirmishes, those that are having a more peaceful time are more likely to experience random Von Neuman attacks etc, etc. Either way, its worth having a small defence fleet at all times. I usually build a couple of Armors (about 4 or so) and then station them on my early, developing colonies.

XP user - played a couple of games to completion, no crashes (though I also had relatively few crashes with the previous versions of 1Z too.)
So basically, if a champion managed to take a city by itself it could control that city and become an independant nation of sorts - only with limited expansion (i.e. - only being able to take other sov's cities as the champion wouldn't have the power to restore land etc.) is that what you're saying? If so, I like the idea. It'd be cool - but I doubt any champion would ever manage it. Not unless you, as a Sov, hired them and gave them an army only for them to go rogue.</
Anyone else played this? Its a free 'game' that plays out entirely on 1988 style Bulletin-boards. Very short, but also very enjoyable.
