U.N. report recommends against encryption backdoors
There was a front page article in the New York Times yesterday (5/30/15) about new laws in China focused on restoring 'rule of law' - read homeland security - that requires mandatory backdoors just like these on all foreign software introduced into their market. I disapprove of the FBI inserting backdoors, simply on civil liberty grounds. Yet the one reason for surveillance/engineered vulnerabilities that rarely comes up in media, and actually seems like it MIGHT be a good one
4. Just buy LH, it's a great game.
This is an old TED talk from just after Ed Snowden's first leaks. For those interested in exploring the issue of internet surveillance, I think it's incredible food for thought.
In these Forums, people respect each others' right to have their own opinions and disagree politely...
Doc, you were wise to post about this crucial issue in the OP. If people don't show some opposition to unregulated surveillance we risk people's very right to have their own opinions, on the internet in general. Name calling was hardly the focus in my opinion, understanding the issue is the focus. Tha

The "I have nothing to hide" argument is incredibly weak and fallacious. Anyone interested in using critical thought (you clearly
Modders are freeloaders that use DEVELOPERS design and tools to modify a game. They are hardly professionals and most likely do NOT test what they have made many times over or use others to test the BALANCE issues of what they have done. Graphic modders are another thing and I have no qualm with them. But, those that change number around and core things that are possible to change I will always be leary of and so should everyone else.&

I think it's a great idea. There will likely be unexpected issues, particularly regarding ownership, but I think after working through them this could be a rewarding new system for PC gaming.

On higher difficulty levels, the AI can cast spells even when out of mana, going negative. It can also spend iron and crystal into the negatives, as well. Not sure if this applies to normal, but sounds like that is the case.
Then I have no clue how to do that... A Sovereign can start as any race or any character model. A quendar could lead a Mancer civilization. A dragon could be the sovereign of Tarth.

There are AI bugs that make the monsters less likely to attack AI units and cities in general. This is based on Brad's feedback. The forum link you left has someone say they think it's based on difficulty level, and that 'Brad said something like th

Pretty rough start with the settings. Going to have to try this one again. Derek Paxton said in a thread a long time ago he considered a maintenance cost for Mantle Of Oceans, but decided that doing so implied one should do math to weigh the cost versus benefit. Like, a linear programming calculation to decide if it was worth the cost over time, based on vague expectations of future spell casting need for each champion. He decided it was not fun to think like this, easier to just cast it as much as you can afford the casting mana cost. I agree with him.<b

I think the idea with Sanjo is that you can use death magic as a kingdom. Other heroes can benefit from the life shards, while Sanjo must do go without extra death power. But some of Death's best spells don't even use or need death power to become awesome. Curse and oppression are both Death1 spells you'll use all game. Wither and shadowbolt is plenty useful with 0 deaths shards. And Death 5, Sacrifice, requires no death shards and is so good it's almost a guar
Might be a garbage collection issue. Objects on the stack that are getting the random loot/champions may not be cleared out "in time" in some cases.
So what you are saying is: 1. Create a sovereign for altar in-game 2. However to be certain turn on 'Use Mods' and put that file into the /Mods folder. The idea is that the game is looking for a unit "InternalNa
Relias starts with Fire and Air magic if I recall. Summoning magic comes from the mage path primarily, so relias could become a summoner just by choosing Path of The Mage. If you want to re-write him, make a custom sovereign for altar, then over-write that unit's InternalName to "Sovereign_Relias." I am assuming you want to overwrite relias because you are playing the scenario? Are you playing with the Demons and Wizards mod, by chance?
