That diplomacy list by abob101 looks nearly perfect. Ideally, I'd request one more: 10.) Allow trading of CHAMPIONS. But I wonder if even Stardock can put enough engineering hours into the C++ coding required, at this point of release. Just think of all the bugs, balance issues, and new AI requirements that would be introduced by such additions. While I'd love to see abob101's list fully realized, I think the most important one, if we could have but one, is
Not sure if anyone asked this yet... Will this game use .xml libraries like Elemental/Fallen Enchantress before it? Will modding it thus be a very similar affair? 'Cause FE and LH were so wonderfully moddable, and I would love to go wild with this game as well.
This reminds me of a thesis that comes back to my brain, again and again as I read reviews of promising, newly released games. The quest for high sales from "good graphics" is holding back the evolution of video gaming, and not just on consoles anymore. I know that visuals are important, but I think players vastly over-reward visual quality to the detriment of their own enjoyment. Indy games that can find graphics-neutral audiences seem to have the only hope of meanin
Ctl+M x5, Ctl+R, cast curgen's volcano on all their cities?
Known bug, player is getting access to the AI-only benefits if an AI sovereign surrenders to them. Should have a fix in today. EDIT: Fixed now.
This mod is intended to counter the 'Mop up" phase. It will juice up AI opponents at turn 300. And by that I mean, they will get so much more powerful that you may, in fact, lose! Even if you do have enough power built up to press the advantage and win, it won't be the usual drudgery - you'll need new unit designs, and all your power to fight off the units that the computer will be throwing your way. If you hate the idea of losing after it seemed you were winning -
Oops ignore this
Hmm. I enjoy how the AI takes fewer quests and goodhie huts. On Expert/ridiculous, they always seemed to take them all before I could! Yes, it hurts them, but I'm not sure it's a huge difference.
What difficulty? All units have a dodge bonus on expert and higher. Was the cave bear blinded? His accuracy might have been reduced. Also, any attack has a 3% chance to miss. It will say 'dodged,' not missed. If this keeps up, there's someting else involved, but it could have been extremely bad luck.
Primal knows, like, everything, breh.
This is the tag from my path of the ninja file:
Unit AdjustUnitStat <StrVal>
it must be something in path of the ninja.
abob101 was working on unit design traits. Black Market Bazaar adds new armor and some new weapons.
Did you notice if the AI starting units were on the coastline? I haven't seen this happening often, but when it happens in my games, AI units seems to be on the coastline...
Nothing kills imperial ambitions like the easy-going coastal lifestyle. Pina coladas, pushing captive mites off the cliffs - it's just so laid back!
I have many more hours on Civ V, and still play to this day. LH, not so much, because it is just not quite as complete and polished as I feel it ought to be after four years on the market (I consider LH a direct expansion on Elemental.) I appreciate what Stardock has done for the consumers regarding the Elemental fiasco...
To be fair, hasn't the civ series had years to perfect their game, while LH has on
Duh, Winning.
Related to the discussion, multiple developers sign an open letter to end the hate. I am not sure why this issue is such a lightning rod to passionate feelings. Imagine if all this energy were dedicated to protesting the real issues in the world, like the TPP, financial crimes, hard analysis of climate science, the surveillance state, etc.
...why should modders have to perfect a game?
It'll never be perfect. I'd suggest you learn the .xml modding of this game, it's not very hard and gives you a lot of control over the engine. Then you'll make it the game you want it to be most. Any questions, I could help you, or pretty much anyone who frequents the "LH Modding" category.
Mods and DLC could bring most of the new features you've mentioned...
i've seen the custom shards in d&w but never the upgrades.
Come to think of it, I don't think I've EVER seen the AI upgrade shards altars to shrines, or temples. Ever, ever.
Not positive about upgrading iron mines to foundries and above, but I am fairly certain I have seen them do it. AI builds on wild ogres, order of asok, mercenary camps, etc all the time.
I believe you claim that there is no point in building armies, and then further down that there is no point in building heroes. Yes, you're missing something. Higher difficulty, keep playing.
Included old FE champions? Cool! Updating my version.
