What specifically do you mean by fixing multiplayer? Wow, there's a lot of negativity in this thread, and I don't think all of it is enitrely deserved. I'm just about finished the single player campaign, and I'll put up a review once I'm done, but frankly I've found it to be a whole lot of fun. It's more kinetic, and much faster paced than Crysis was. While Crysis gave you vast levels and tasked you with getting to the other side, Crysis 2's level are more like a funnel for the action. T
I thought I’d share some of my thoughts here for those looking at getting a 3DS, and those on the fence about getting one, as despite the mass media coverage I still don’t think the “hands on” info has been good enough. I’ll cover one quick thing first, which really needs to be addressed and actually hasn't been so far. I’m calling it the… 3DS-yndrome When you turn the system on for the first time, you
You might not agree with it, but it's most definitely not "arbitrary".
The problem with this thinking is that it relates back to an older system and style. Why can't I access my digitial download of Crysis 2 until two later than the Americans? In the mean time, I could pirate the game, finish it, and decide weather or not it's even worth the trouble and cost. These small delays are bareable - I can suffer two additional days. Howe
Head over to RockPaperShotgun.com to join the call. Tired of waiting days, weeks and even months to play games after their supposed "release" date? No? You must be living in North America. Sign the petition, and do what you can to promote the removal of these arbitrary release delays!

So, they made everything graphical instead. It's still menu driven, it just
Oh, now it seems it was all a big mistake.
Unfortunately, there was an error in the system that accidentally suspended your entire EA account. Read this story over on Rockpapershotgun.com.
To summarise, EA can take away your access to your purchased games at their sole discretion, and not offer any refund. That’s what you agree to when you buy an EA game. And of course this is not unique to EA. We are very aware of other services with similarly draconian bans, and are actively investigating them.</

Honestly, DA:O left me feeling a tad underwhelmed by the end, and unfortunately the shift towards a more Mass Effect styled experience for DA2 has left me feeling fairly uninterested. I hope you guys enjoy it, but I'll be sitting this one out.
I can understand why Soren Johnson would say what he said. Supreme Commander, for example, had a UI that could be described fairly as 'obscene'. Making the UI simpler would have allowed for more people to play the game easily. Unfortunately, when the industry talks about 'streamlining' and 'cutting to the chase' we don't end up with complex games that are easier to understand and play. Point in case: Supreme Commander 2. An improved UI, better path finding, a mor
I don't think Nintendo have to worry about iPhones and Mobile Gaming any time soon. While the amount of games on an iPhone and the like is impressive, the App Store is filled with hundreds and thousands of games that are terrible, and far worse than the shoveware that clogs the DS's library. Of the good ones, they mostly follow the usual trend of burst gaming - 5 minutes here, 10 minutes there, 15 minutes when you're really in to it. They're starting to offer more hardcore g

If I buy a US Version 3DS, I have to buy US Games. Then I can't play multiplayer with any of my friends who buy an Australian 3DS and Australian games. Blizzard are doing the same thing; their digital purchases cost US$90.00 in Australia and New Zealand.
There is
Well, the original PSP cost AU$400.00, and it had no touch screen, gyroscope, online store or stereoscopic display. Welcome to Australia: where shit costs more.
How does it compare to other casual action RPG's like Magicka? (I don't mean casual in the pejorative sense.)
The gameplay is actually pretty good, as long as you like Action RPGs. It doesn't do enough new things to win over non-fans of the genre, however it's solidly designed. The Hero Swap mechanic, for example, allows you to have three Heroes - with independant Health and Power bars and abilities, as well as upgrades - in
Well, DarkSpore is really something interesting. It's like Diablo, only with less loot and a far more inventive setting. The game mechanics are different enough that it won't really compete with Torchlight or Diablo, and yet similar enough to attract a similar crowd. The graphics are nice, though with horrible outlines around everything (I turned them down, however you can't disable them) and the music and sound are pitch perfect and quite unique. My original
I remember when the DS Lite came out, and everyone - even me - rushed to buy one. It was a far superior design to the original DS. Then, Nintendo brought out the DSi. This one has a camera in it, online store and memory cards to store everything, as well as a longer battery life. The DSi, however, was also regionally restricted. I didn't buy one. If I'm remembering correctly, the DSi has the same, or greater, install base as the DS Lite. After the D
Well, I pre-ordered my 3DS today for AU$298.00 with free delivery. Considering the base price is AU$350.00, I think I got a good deal. The Australian launch titles look a little weak, though there are few good ones that I'll be picking up. Super Street Fighter 4 3D looks fantastic. <img src="http://static.gamesradar.com/images/mb/GamesRadar/us/Games/S/Super%20Street%20Fighter%20IV%203D/Everything%20Else/Finished/072910_streetfighter43d_obs03--article_image.jpg" alt
Well, some interesting news: I've been invited to the Beta for DarkSpore. I don't recall signing up for it, however it's installing as I write this and is very legit. I did make a few well received items for SPORE, perhaps that gets you an invite? In any case, I'll post some impressions in case someone, somewhere, was intersted in DarkSpore. I can't help but think EA are tired of me bashing them up and down the internet, and this is actually some kind of trick.

In terms of MMOs, there isn't really an actual "Free 2 Play" model. If you pay, you're still grinding, you're just getting through it faster or easier. If you don't pay, your grind takes longer and is harder. It all comes down to the presence of subscriptions. Lord of the Rings Online has the best MMO F2P system I've seen, bar Guild Wars. You buy "quest packs" which unlock all of the quests in a specific area, and you get the first 30 or so levels of content fo
