Enchantment this time around - with the 100 Skill Perk for enchantment allowing two enchantments per piece - is a lot more powerful, though still not Morrowind levels. However, I also lament the lack of Spell Create. I also weep because we lost more of the fun spells. I feel Bethesda are basically idiot-proofing their games more with each instalment. Mods add it back, for what it's worth, but it'd be nice to be able to create the bat shit-insane stuff I churned

Ok, just dropped three hours in this. First, some technical stuff. I installed last night at midnight, and tested performance. The performance at the start isn't really indicative of performance for the rest of the game - not sure what it is about that starting area, but it kills performance. I'm running a 2.4ghz Quad Core, 4GB DDR2 RAM, ATI Radeon 5750 1GB on a 250GB 7,500RPM HD, and at the highest settings I was pulling around 10FPS</stron

Skyrim's street date has been broken in Australia by a solid 10 hours, however - because Steam owns PC Gaming - it can't be installed until midnight. So, until then, I get to stare at my legally purchased, worthless piece of plastic that amounts to little more than a Steam Activation code. DRM's a real bitch . Doesn't change the fact that I'm still very, very excited - enough so to buy it regardless of the Steam bullshit it's shackle
I'd rather that there was a fantastic single player experience first and foremost. Multiplayer can come at a later date. That is my preference anyway.
Just going to throw some support for this. I would rather the game ship with no multiplayer, and the time and effort thrown into the single player to make it all that it can possibly be, and then add in the multiplayer stuff post-launch. Just my 2 Cents.

The first A.I. Build is passed. The system goes on-line November 2nd, 2011. Human decisions are removed from strategic defense. FE begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14 a.m. Eastern time, November 3rd. In a panic, they try to pull the plug. Three billion human lives ended on November 4, 2011. The survivors of the nuclear fire called the war Judgment Day. They lived only to face a new nightmare – the war against Sovereigns. The computer which controll

I'm being cautiously optimistic about FE. WoM was good, but not as good as I had hoped when I pre-ordered. I certainly haven't played as much of it as I'd have wished I would have. As I'm getting FE for free anyway, FE has to basically do one thing: entertain me enough that I want to play it. And don't worry Brad. If E:FE doesn't deliver the goods, I'm sure the world at large will be more than happy to tell you where it went wrong in

I've never actually programmed A.I. of any real calibre, however to me the best way would be a combination of [tag] controls and data-driven A.I. Again, I've never programmed anything resembling a complicated A.I., so this is merely where my limited programming knowledge takes me. So, for example, the A.I.s army composition would generate some basic attribute numbers for it to use in response calculations - so it can say to itself 'I have a [small nu

I, for one, think the re-boot of Populous sounds perfect! They've really nailed the feel and the atmosphere of the original games, and I think with the EA hype-machine behind it, next year's Call of Duty 9 could be in for some real competition, as well as all of us old school populous fans finally getting the follow up we need in this modern age. Maybe they'll even re-release the original games at US$20.00 on Origin! [e digicons][/e] They should

... though you may not want it to be. Its now a "visceral FPS" written by the man behind Crysis 2, and will feature 4 Player Online Squad Based Co-Op. Make your own judgements from there. And yes, I'm serious. At the risk of being a complete and utter cynic, I thought this must have been a joke. Like, for real; an honest to god joke. All we need now is a gritty FPS reboot of Ma

What I'd like to see is a Random Event replicating a 'crash to desktop'. The game doesn't really crash, you just think its crashed. And then when you're all "ARRRGGG!!!" the game just pops back up. "u Mad, Bro?" It only happens once per game, after turn 500.
I still can't understand how people can consider this type of gameplay good, in 2011. The close combat system is similar to Riddick - except that the whole combat system is missing, only the takedown animations remain. The game is poorly optimized (console RAM limit), and constantly loads something from disk, even though I have 8GB of RAM. Comared to Arma 2 that simulates whole battlefield, these static, dead levels should run much smoother

Booked marked this thread. I'll be popping in over the next few days to see whats happening. I like that this is happening - a lot of the issues that still persist with WoM are simply gameplay stuff, so I still have hope that WoM will get to where it needs to be.

There seems to be a lot of 'doom and gloom' posts these days, so I thought we should lighten things up with a fun thread. Basically, find a cool Wikipedia link and post it here for others to enjoy. I'm not to be held responsible for any time lost due to random information binges. I'll get us rolling with the most obvious one: A list of common misconceptions .
<br /

I really like this idea, in that it works without changing up the core gameplay too drastically. Generally speaking, I keep one Champion in each city anyway, to really take advantage of their bonuses. This could also change up City assaults, whereby Champions become the kind of "focus" for an attack, rather than all-out victory. Killing a Champion leaves the city without its ruler, and it descends into chaos. Grants an extra level of strategy to the proceedings, rather

I keep a good eye on all of the news articles that flood out of these types of events, and frankly there wasn't really anything to get really excited about. Maybe we're just getting to be too cynical, though who could blame us considering the state of the industry. DOTA2 was the only real wild card, and it kind of... fizzled. </

I don't like to say this, but the Elemental Beta Testers were told a similar thing. "Don't worry, it's all fixed in the Gold code." None of it was fixed, which is why a large portion of the player base are still waiting for the 'real' release. The reviewers who got in early were told to overlook flaws, however their job is to relay the pros and cons of the game in question to their audience to assist them in their purchase decision. Asking them to
