What the title says. Tactical battles are so simplistic that designing a specialized unit is, well, not really even possible. If I'm aiming for autocalculation, I design for getting the most efficient "unit weight" for my buck. If I'm designing to be effective in tactical battles, I just pile on as much whoop-ass I can. Get a new tech? Add additional increment of whoop-ass to all newly trained units. What.&nb

after the many critics and complaints i have to say this last patch changes everything (for me) i did only 1 game but it was fine till the end, no slowdown even with 8 towns, map scrolling was smooth till the end, combat is faster and smoother too
Agree on the equipment cost. Early game you make around 5 gildar a turn. Why is a wooden club costing me 60 G ? A full set of paded armor, will cost 150 G +. Lots of money for very little gain imo. And a dagger costs almost as much as a warg?
no imo its fine the point is still the randomness of armor so having 6 7 armor is nearly nothing but in general its ok

lol funny story :D anyway i think the squad size doesnt affect its stats (apart from hp) and thats wrong btw dont like to repeat but the whole idea and math behind squads is broken
Quoting Annatar11, reply 23 If you bring up the city details by clicking its portrait when selected, it will show you which bonuses it has. Can you do that when the game asks you what bonus you want next? I always just pick a random bonus lol.
dont think you can but it shows the stats of that city you are upgrading its bad if the c ity is new without bonuses already so you
Months ago, several people (myself included) did attempt to warn Frogboy against such an early release. Read the rest of the post, maybe? I'm well aware that people were "warning" about it, and I expressed my concern as well. But it's moot. They're a small company, putting off the release for another 6 months was likely not feasible financially. There are lots of things that go on behind the scenes we don't see. Better
As far as pulling the release trigger now, I wonder if Brad just sensed alot of burnout in the office. What people never seem to realize is that release dates aren't just spur of the moment things. They're set in stone way, way in advance because there's a lot of competition for retail shelf space.
tbh i remember frogboy saying he COULD have delayed feb 2011 but HE DID think the game would be ready for aug
I think Elemental is a great game, but side with those who wish the battles had more units--and units with more troops--than the small, skirmish-style that the tactical game became. I understand the reasons behind it, but my play style just prefers larger battles. So rather than sit around griping about a publisher kind enough to offer a no-questions-asked refund, I'd be interested in putting together a modding guide on how to make the game "bigge
The only thing this game really needs is more of the same. More magic spells I agree with. More techs I agree with.
lol no NO NO AND NO we dont need more spells, there are already too many useless we still use all the same 3 4 we dont need 20 new spells we need to have the ones in game working better, more balanced, more funny same w
luketan, I don't think they would bring out a game which they know to be seriously imbalanced. And... it isn't. There are quite a few issues, but on the whole it's okay. And will be fixed. but even with hp i had last gamy try a full warrior sovereign i had 100 hp 200 defense etc still i got 1 shotted 2 3 times

8 Replies 27,763 Views

well things are just crazy if you keep going in the late game some issues in random order -stackable items are bad, should really be hotfixed soon or champions/sovereign get X00 hp/atk/def -multiple units need some work, they just make no sense when you research the top tech, not even talking about elementium which is rare, just with normal crystals and stuff its crazy -enemies have too much attack, with this combat system (which w

i saw it in many games and NEVER did what it should , usually i just see fuzzy numbers, sometimes 0, sometimes negative, sometime+10k, just random numbers appear when some npc use confusion on me

0 Replies 368 Views

yeah but youi talking all about early rushing thats hard even for humans to counter in fact most of the strategy games are based on some sort of rushing have you tried late in the game? to me it appears the general defense of empire and cities is decent early no, but thats just cause early they probably research and build other things
I think what likely happens is that with a shard bonus, the game doesn't roll 0 to (int*shards), it rolls 0 to int, modifies by the opponent's armor roll, and then multiplies it by shard count. So You would constantly be rolling 0 to 19, subtracting the defense roll, and then multiplying for the shard bonus.
i thought the same but the in game tests and the op suggest thjis is not the case it also appear
