Nearly every successful game has all its core features at release. As it is, it doesn't stand the comparison to day 1 Age of Wonders 2, or day 1 HoMM V, to give a few examples. A lot of the core mechanics are broken or very sketchy. That's what "unfinished" means. Okay, but what core features aren't in Elemental? Bugs means it's unpolished, after all, not unfinished.
seriously magic and combat arent real
Well, there'll be a patch on the official release day (tomorrow) that fixes stuff. See what people think of the bug level after that comes out.
you sure about this? can you link an official thought on it?
blizzard, chain lighning etc not too high lvl to get
1 thing i dont get what are we playing righ tnow? not the day0? still the gold of couple of weeks ago?
its not the brute strenght the issue but the charisma they lack personality and sometimes fun you care them, you feed them, and they dont repay your love enough, imo
yeah but there are spells also squads get halved in the first 2 turns usually
yeah archers do low dmg and it is correct otherwise it would be too easy to just wipe enemies without being touched even a sovereign with first bows does 3 4 dmg and often 0 which is counted as a miss anyway probably bows could scale a bit more, but thats a balance we can talk about in the future
Which would be true, if that was actually the case. It's also very easy to get high in *offense*.
sure but then the game would be only champions against champions cause all the rest would be like ants for them for example i rather see champions level up faster, usually i get 3 4 levels easy and then 1 2 more each game i rather instead have at least 7 8 levels
Yes, some of the balancing still needs a lot of work. One big issue that hugely affects champions is the fact that a unit group simply pools all of its stats and treats it as one. So if you have 10 units with 10 damage each, on an attack the game just rolls 0-100. This is obviously bad when your single champion only has 30 hp. What should happen is each of those 10 units rolls 0-10 and the champion is then given a defense roll for each of the 10 a
yeah i agree, champions arent really improved from beta i was hoping for good skills but its not the case the main issue is not really balance, is that there is not an idea behind, they are not characterized at all just a pool of "slightly" better stats CONFUSED stats cause they all are too much "balanced", not clearly warriors or caster or anything same goes with sovereign though
i dont agree every leader shoudl be different and charaterized like you say they are all the same apart what we do with them bad
still the main problem is all sovereign starts with all books thats VERY bad, i hope that can be hotfixed b4 the 1 or 2 month first patch it ruins half the fun to have all sovereigns casting the same things
early game i agree late game they can be weak did you proceed in the game? i got attacked by a pack with 3 multi ogre all with 100+ hp and my spells did like 20 25 dmg max also ai of enemies seems pretty better in the management, i see a LOT of strong troops around later in the game (consider only sovereign can cast and some other champion in case)
another research i forgot the name
not sure 100% for the release but should be 1 roll for attackers attack and 1 roll for defender s defense(i "think" subtracted from each other and if 0 its a miss) and even if noone cares i still point out its better a less rng multiplicative system :D
dont know what you need exactly but in general you have 2 teams fighting, every unit has its own stats of which combat points decide the actions you can take in your turn you can then move each unit in the order you prefer and/or attack when possible sovereign and eventually some other champion has the option to cast spells too( you can cast spells pressing the lil buton near mana in the bottom right of the screen) melees units get c
yeah very importat critiques "the game does not explain how to end turn" "my toaster does not explain i have to connect it to the power" "my car doesnt explain me i have to put keys to turn it on" plz...
maybe you did more expert troops?
i notice all have core2duo also i have that processor and huge drop in performance after a bit in the game
i just tried my first game and got 2 of these... do you guys all got them? they just steamroll everything
to each his own. im more a sword guy than a magic fan. but if someone would have asked me, i'd have said maybe 20 spells. 60 sounds like A LOT to a nub like me.
yeah the number doesnt matter what matters is the variety of the effects they do
Why all sovereings have all spellbocks?
oh again like this? i didnt try yet but still all spellbooks for everyone? btw is this day 0 or still gold?
Quoting delijoe79, reply 4 Why would he use the zero day version to do an AAR and then release an older build? I'm pretty sure tomorrow's release will be the zero day minus the multiplayer servers... Maybe because they're still working on the 0-day patch? It was scheduled to be released on the 24th. Just because he's playing with it doesn't mean its completed.
they are working on it on sunday?
Quoting Zawath, reply 104Well, obviously tactical battles would also have a timelimit. Not that obvious. If you are playing with friends, things like pause, and turn length aren't an issue. There are really two different crowds being addressed, and their needs are different. I've played with friends where we took an 30 minute break, just left the game on pause. Who cares. No big deal. The coop, know each other group doesn't need a
well there is a flow in general if 1 quest can change entirely the game i dont want 1 player getting a demon slayer sword 1shotting everything nor in a mp game but neither in a single player game whats the fun ? ofc we have to see better how quests work in the release but i dont see how removing completely a funny feature from a game is better and i still remember that civ 4 SUCKED TOTALLY <
