But honestly? I see this game going down the way of Demigod if Stardock doesn't do something DRASTIC to improve the basic gameplay within the next few weeks. As of now the platform has a lot of potential as a TOOLKIT, but really the core game is weak.
be realistic, surely stardock will work on it but you cant expect in 2 weeks to have every concern you express solved <p
Quoting Nenjin, reply 35As it is, when Civ 5 releases, people aren't going to play Elemental because it's still trying to get up to its own standards. Yeah, instead they'll be complaining about how broken, unbalanced, and poorly tested Civ 5 is. Trust me, it's going to happen.
its absolutely possible but here we are NOT saying stardock is a bad company in fact stardock is g
But even the implementation is rocky. In one game I found the Midnight Stones quest (which didn't work) the Silver Flute quest (which was go here, kill monsters, sell flute) several alchemist quests and a load of generic Materials, Metals and Gold finds. (I had Level 3 Locations giving me +5 materials. Uhm....yeah.) I haven't gotten into the 4 and 5 level locations yet, but assuming only half of them have quests, I'm not that excited. Like EVE
the problem is i thought there would be items for mana but i didnt find them if you add a ring (unique ofc) with 1 mana regen and some cloth with 1 2 max mana its fine like now too often the game is painful
i think in the end the game is pretty heavy patch after patch there are improvements but still its heavy
The problem here is Master of Magic really set the bar too high. But then again they focused IMHO only on the fun part - MAGIC. Perhaps EWOM is trying to hard to do so many things.. in the end they ended up neglecting the magic system (perhaps they think they can easily fix this later), A odd choice for a game with magic in the title as pointed out by many.
i dont agree some
i agree with pretty much everything you said
yeah there is some problem into magic scaling same with archers, i dont feel like they are scaling correctly
Seriously... if I can make bunch of broadswords for my units, why do I have to buy one for my champ for over 800 gold?
because your champion/sov has 10 15 20 STR and can get it higher and higher
another guy was complaining about children maybe the algorithm to make their stats is a bit too kind also dont forget children are more far in the game and so need to be stronger (not as they appear to be right now though)
the point is the first champions are not that strong but later champions indeed ARE you cant take a first champion you met and paid 50 grow like a demigod but sure you can find later some very good fighter with enough hp to survive some tough fight
i found out its this: Clarity This unit regenerates 1 mana every turn during combat. Unit
probably some passive special ability dont you have a savegame to read the description of that children?
you can boots hp, i usually do it once or twice at start to avoid random deaths for unlucky hits
1) cities are NOT SUPPOSED TO be all around resource collectors so you should take the route based on the game, ie build market and % bonus (also on level up) if you have mine otherwise try to use the resources you have if you REALLY wants to get money then find a gold mine, build a town nearby(or expand the existing town to that limit) etc its not civ where every town does everything( thnx god) also there are some spells buffing citi
thats a good option to have a less randomic system but from the ACTUAL elemental i dont think very portable i mean creatures have 40 50 attack/defense also dont think stardock RIGHT NOW is going to change completely the combat system so i think its a better idea to suggest small changes the point of mom was correct anyway
i remember frogboy saying the system was actually like that there had to be "parts" which grants a fixed amount of defense no matter what im going on memory and also dunno if it will be in the release
tbh i find something improved in elementa compared to mom dont forget in mom you could kill champions with a single spell and sometimes attack
it would be no harm if a summon had a small spell to cast imo just not the whole sovereign book
also i have a small concern about the pause between action i saw there is a new animation showing action points going up and down which is nicebut id prefer if everything would be way faster and less pausy
the problem in all kind of dmg, like i said many times, is its high randomness a full roll from 0 to max and another roll for defense makes it fluctuating a lot also it scales not so much with int (well there are shards too so its correct imo) it would be enough to have spells min damage set at a good % of max instead of 0
the problem is not the summoned rush tactic the problem is summoned creatures are often OP summons cost is waaaaaay too low (call it NOTHING), research is not so expensive etc like pointed many times in the beta so a thing you can get in less than 100 turns shoudl be comparable with troops or sovereign you can get in that time ie 10 15 hp tops, 10 attack 5 def tops and maybe a weak casti
sometimes try to actually fight, you surely have a better strategy than ai at attacking
Damage spells like a fireball should automatically do damage no matter what--the enemy should have a resistance based on constitution to save for half damage or to prevent burning on successive turns. In my opinion, rather than rolling against armor, the target's INT score should just be used as a form of spell resist. Perhaps a function of INT and Level, such that you need to bump up INT occasionally to maintain the same resist percen
you sure about this? can you link an official thought on it? There will be a patch tomorrow - and read the SD badge, baby...official enough for you?
ok :D you know the forum is a bit crowded today hard to follow this storm of threads :P
