[quote who="Delmoroth" reply="8" id="2767041"]What is it about blending the weak humans with supernatural or otherwise powerful beings to make much stronger being? It is in movies, anime and now games. It seems Badass + Badass Conservation of Ninjitsu. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ConservationOfNinjutsu?from=Main.ConservationOfNinjitsu

How up to date with the Homnomnom webpage be kept? I do really like the idea about letting users tweak it and create their own XML Tech Trees. +1 for that, great idea.

It's like the boardgame... "Diplomacy", I believe. Basically, take RISK, but make it only Europe instead of the whole world. Remove the concept of turns. You have three stages: "Discussion" "Give Orders" "Execution" Discussion, you talk with all the other players and talk about who you want to gang up on and rape (in theory). You basically make an oral "promise" to do something. Something which you aren't required to do at all

on the other hand, I guess each person who makes a return on the game because of poor or incomplete or missing MP makes MP slightly more important? iono. If the only people who stay and play the game are SP people then MP will always suck forever because they already left. Which sort of "justifies" SD not investing heavily in MP because no one used it anyway :/

It'll go through QA Tuesday. I expect that it will be more thoroughly tested, and probably at least one Sev2 issue will be found, and will have to be rechecked. Expect it to go live Thursday at the earliest.

It's really just a marketing scheme. Basically, they are just saying they will be actively developing lots of free content for the game for one year. Then, an expansion pack will be released (around that time), adding more content. If you want the further "free content booster packs" then you'd probably have to purchase the expansion pack. Bugfixes would probably be back-ported to the non-expansion pack editions (I hope), but I doubt you would see more original content. The firs

it won't be happening, at all. Stardock tried to purchase the rights. They were denied, possibly because the right-holders were planning on making their OWN remake in some crazy point of time in the future.

That does sound like a much more exciting combat system. I like how you can tie up in melee, and having the orders execute all at the same time rather than one unit at a time.

MP was on the box. It should be on. Period. There is very little excuse about it, especially since it was supposed to be turned on at release. They should not be doing actual implementation for it (really. they shouldn't) They may be recently tweaking values based on recent feedback, etc, which is fine. But they aren't writing the code. It's already written, and it supposedly works. See Beta 2. The reason it is delayed is because the second MP goes on,

Remember that the the "Guardian" upgrade could be basically more mundane "dragon-roles". Medium damage, a little slow, but high armor + hp. I've currently modded it so that I get one Guardian @ the City Level, and a second one at City Level +2. (that is, if I promote at 2, I get a level 2 Guardian and a level 4 Guardian). It's been working out pretty well, and the Guardian's aren't particularily overpowered or anything. Strong, sure, but not a huge difference between the guardia

I think that Teleport should be move to skill level 3 or 4. Imbue Champion is what everyone starts with. THEN, the Sovereign gets a cheap 1 mana spell with a long cooldown (10 turn) that allows him to teleport (and only him).

Played a game last night, and nearly every opposing Sovereign had the "Sand Golem" token sitting around in their inventory. AI should basically always summon the Sand Golem as soon as they get it. The only reason to ever not to would be uh... To keep your might arbritarily low?

Just so you know, you do lose 1 Essence per Sov-death. I think increasing it to 5 while in enemy territory would go a good way to help this problem, as long as your Soverign cannot be imbued by your children (infinite life Sov :/ ) I also think that losing all your cities should become an additional lose-condition. That way you don't play "find the Sov"

Releasing the Source Code would mean releasing the Engine which is a very, very bad idea, financially. Some random person could completely rip it off. Secondly, you'd have to recompile the entire game for your tweaks, which isn't something Impulse::Reactor can support, nor something that the average user is up for the task. Plus, it would be a HUGE compile. I imagine it would take a good amount of time...

Frogboy did still do the same thing with Demigod. It got flamed, he retreated from the forums. He came back a few weeks later... I do think that the emotionally, Frogboy is much more invested in this game than Demigod. I guess that makes the poor release that much worse. However, I'm pretty sure that Frogboy/Stardock know the current state of the game as it is and telling them more isn't helping. Though the initial firm reminder WAS a good thing.

I'm pretty sure that right now the Stardock team is frustrated. Which is understandable. They are worried about being fire (possibly), having negative reviews across the board must really bruise their ego. And their forums are full of angry customers that cannot play the game and posting their frustration everywhere, making it worse The latest Dev Journal made *that* clear. and the Gamester thread. We'll see what happens.

[quote]If you were a beta tester and have sour grapes about a bug report you sent in that didn't get fixed, please move on and get over yourself. EVERY beta has testers like you...your not that unique, nor smart or insightful. Get over yourself. Lets just move on and let Stardock do what they do to fix this thing. Help when you can, or have time, but do like Brad says...post as if you are talking right to the person in front of you. Keep it constructive, positive or negative(and
