Is Elemental still targeted to run on the crappiest netbook? The game runs clunky on my Dell 1.8 Dual Core, 256Mb ATi X1400, 1Gb laptop (cloth map is fine but tactical battles, loading for quest loot and the like are clunky). Is see the requirements on Impulse are significantly higher than an "internet only" netbook, what happened?

Have not read all the posts on this thread. I'm not surprised to hear there are "Munchkins" posting negative stuff about Impulse. In Elemental, GalCiv or Sins you would do the same to beat a competitor and win. I joined the Beta 1G too and have found that it does crash (actually just came back to the computer after getting a drink and its back on the Windows screen, "Where has the game gone?") but not as bad as what you report. As others have said, autosave is your friend :)

Whoa, I had to update Impulse multiple times (kinda weird, you update and then it immediately asks you to update again, but thats computers for ya), restarted Impulse and there it was! I'm waiting too, no email or game on Impulse, but I suspect things will be resolved in time. We are all just too keen to try the game, our patience is out the window.
I second this, I'm pretty keen too. I have pre-ordered and will (hopefully) join the Beta tomorrow. The game will be good, Stardock has a great history with TBS so I'm sure they will do a great job. How about somebody with the power to do so create a seperate sub-page for all the forum games. Its a pain to have to scan through them all to find the threads I'm interested in.
