It would help much if they'd just increase the sound range.
Skyboxes are easy enough to change in-game so people who's eyes hurt from bright ones aren't doomed. Just click and unclick the "Use Colored Skyboxes" in the Effects menu until you find the one you want.
That works during game? :O Thx a bunch, I dislike the dark skyboxes because I can barely see the ships against those. Especially Vasari. In SoaSE I just started new game so many times that I got one that isn
I guess I'd call it fairly deep, yet accessible. All the choice with the tech trees and upgrades is a bit overwhelming for a new player, but I just play and learn it bit by bit. Currently there's TEC factions (each now has loyalist and rebel subfactions) and Advent factions. I don't yet know if they have major differences, but at least not visual ones. I guess I'd recommend this rather than the expansions, since this has all of the
Well you can't really hear any of them from a playing distance. Can't see projectiles either, except beams.
It will all be revealed in Sins of a Solar Empire: Pursuer
This topic really seems to divide people in two. I for one would enjoy a sexy amazon army or a domina sovereign taking over the world, but I understand it's not everyones cup of tea. Anyway this kind of stuff is rarely official material (except in German games). So expect it to be modded in.
Confirmed. Game turned to playable. Increase of 15-30 fps on 3d map. Don't know about late game yet though.
I can't play Elemental with the fps my rig gets. So while hoping for a patch that would solve the issue I've been playing Starcraft 2, Anno 1404 and Settlers 7 mainly.
When you get a breakthrough in the given area, the likely and unlikely stuff won't necessarily appear for you to select. They are rolled for separately in each breakthrough.
Yeah there's a lot wrong in the way combat works now. It will surely get improved, because there's so much talk about it. At the moment your damage is between 0 and your attack rating. Same works with spells, from 0 to maximum. Then the defenders defense, which is from 0 to maximum, is taken into account. Often damage gets fully absorbed, but current version doesn't have a report for it, so it's just displayed as a miss. These will certainly change, so just hang on :)
There are actually some great ideas here, but you might want to give a little less all-knowing impression in your writing. But still, some good ideas.
So now that we have a game that is rich in features and options, people actually want to start reducing them? Bah.
So you play it like I play competitive starcraft. That's nice. I'm here to have fun building my empire.
If you like the features the game promises. If you liked Age of Wonders you probably like this one. I have many issues with the game, the lowfps on 3d map being the worst, but I still enjoy it.
I have major slowdowns and many bugs but I still enjoy the game. And it can only get better.
Meh he should shut up about the graphics already. It's not like his opinion was the only truth in the world. I for one find Elemental very pretty, and would not find it as luring with realistic Anno style graphics.
There is always Dwarf Fortress as well! Sorry, I am an ASCII whore.
Technically it's not an ASCII game ;)
I played some fall from heaven 2 when waiting for elemental and it just didn't work for me. Sure elemental has it's issues, but it will eventually be great. Fall from heaven 2 on the other hand is already old, and still the only viable strategy is to build moar archers. Also don't like the way how they use art from baldurs gate and icewind dale. It's a robbery.
I think that's how it works. Nothing complicated in it. It's better research it when you have 3 or 4 towns.
There must be something wrong with the new patch. Fire up a game and there are at least 6 resources in the immediate vicinity.
In short, I'm a bit sad that Brad isn't the kind of designer who can look past his own personal preferences and figure out what is actually best for the game.
And what kind of a player / forum goer does this make you? This game is like so ruined by squares, like so totally. Yeah. Total.
Have you moved out of the city square and then tried to cast on it? Do you have too many enchantments going on? Also see this: https://forums.elementalgame.com/393014
Well I had this inland island that (well actually wasn't island but the land route was blocked by a mountain) housed the blacksmith. The one time I managed to grab those midnight stones, I couldn't get to the smithie :´(
I don't know about you but I usually have problems acquiring iron. So I have to buy it from others with a hefty price. This forces me to really think what I put on my troopers, because they can't wield all the best stuff I know.
One that comes into my mind right away is: How do I get married? Get a life. No seriously, hire an adventurer of the opposite sex, select him or her and click on the actions tab next to vitals (down left). From there click propose. You might need to raise your reputation though, if you try this quickly. Reputation seems to increase when you do pretty much anything. So go fight and be a big hero!
