I played a game last night and the AI didn't even do anything on normal difficulty? They never built anything beyond the starting city and that had no improvements well into the game. The sovereign never even moved. Braindead is one thing but they need to at least actually try to play the game. Does the AI work for others or on other difficulties? I know this will be fixed shortly if it is happening to others but I'd

The cloak makes more sense from empires point of view, since they don't have that warrior cloak. If I recall right.
What's wrong with the UI? Other than that it's not explained enough. But that's not the UI's fault.

The attack/damage system is bad atm, simply raising the minimum damage a bit probably wouldn't cut it.
Hmm true. So it could be that: if attack > 10 then use strength as minimum damage. But any improvement is fine with me really :) &nb
Guys, try disabling the in-game cursor and use hardware one. I just did it and it basically solved my problem with stuttering scrolling. Fps over cities is better too. The fluid scroll is so gamechanger lol, everything is fluid just how it's supposed to be.
No effect. As you can see this view runs on 9 frames per second.
You are playing as Empire then? It's the fourth one then. Conquest or Domination or something.
As it is the damage troops do is inconsistent with their stats, thus prohibiting tactical play. Because, you know, you can't trust even your most elite troops to do damage when it counts. It is my understanding that damage is randomized between 0 and attack value. How about making it so that damage is rolled as it is now, but there would be a minimum of strength value. I think it might work nicely since strength also contributes to the maximum. You could do the same wi
I think the problem is that damage is in all cases randomized from 0 to maximum. I believe defense also reduces magic damage, so even mediocre rolls will seem weak at late game. In my opinion the minimum damage needs to rise a bit with the maximum damage to produce more consistent results.

Heh the adventure research is powerful, has good benefits. But I just had one of my towns defenses devastated by a sudden shriek attack. My boys with their leather armor and spears didn't stand a chance :
It seems that most of the time when a party of troops takes enough damage to reduce it in size, the game reduces the amount of soldiers displayed for that party. That's all good, but when the party heals, they don't get the troops back. So I end up having troops that look like a single unit, but have the properties of a party. Another issue is related. When ordering a unit to hit an enemy, the game of course makes all the calculations for that attack. However it sometimes immediately

The game has crashed 4 times now. I patched it already, which took like an hour. The game is awesome looking, but I haven't gotten a turn in yet
Make sure your GPU drivers are up to date.
I've had cities produce more than 110 gildar per turn.
Wonder if these posters ever ask themselves: "what am I trying to achieve here?" ...
Have you loaded a savegame and tried again?
Is this still an issue? Since 1.05 my trade routes have not been attacked once established. And before that, normal stack will do.
Well you need to do some adventure research. I think the descriptions on the techs kind'a sneakily reveal what part of questing they increase.
Right on. Warhammer: Mark of Chaos was pretty much unplayably bad on release, and there was a desperate cry for improvement on the forums. Official response never came and eventually the cries vanished leaving empty echoing forums.
I thought the sovereign and spouse get capped at 30.
Just throwing in my 5 cents. First I thought that my computer just sucks but after reading these I think there's something wrong. I'm going on around turn 400, so there's pretty much town everywhere. On 3d map fps is 10-14 as long as town can be seen. Cloth map jumps to 40+. Even though the fps is so bad, the game doesn't seem to be putting my computer to much work, fan speeds and temps stay low, there's free ram to be had and so on. Changing settings doesn't really affect the fps at all.
No and no. Surely some future patch will allow us to disable the follow cam though.
I've retreated once. The first that retreated made others panic and the enemy got enough free turns to kill them all. Luckily my sovereign made the cast a spell escape.
Somehow it would seem that all children regen mana and health in combat. Probably a bug, since it seems weird.
Also the latest patch made the difference less dramatic. In 1.00 it was like: uh?
Crystals are required to produce gadgets to troops. Magic rings etc. You need to do some magic research to get that stuff.
