It's a pretty amazing game, I'm learning how to use blender just for it. Blueprints are so much fun when designing your ships. The MP is pretty concrete and I'm not even a 4x MP'er. (I like to test my designs vs other peoples inventions.)
Ooh, I can't resist a sale!
Yeah I dont know why it's still that inexpensive.. I know they cut the price because they were donating $1 per sale to japan's crisis. (this was weeks ago) It's a complex game, give it the time it deserves and if you like building shipsets and ships in general youll be spending hours just making our designs :). Then there is the Galaxy and conquering thousands
I'll look into it, I guess I'll have to get it from GamersGate if it's off of Impulse already.
Thats what I mean by its not exactly pulled, it's still on impulse from the looks of it.. Star Ruler still plans on supporting it with patches. I suggest Direct2Drive it's currently $12.98 opposed to $30 ish anywhere else. <a href="http://www.direct2drive.co
Are the Star Ruler guys the ones who freaked out and pulled their game from Impulse? I'm not saying that would affect me buying it (they have every right to), just that that game name sounds familiar.
I wouldnt say freaked out, or pulled exactly. They did have a dispute of some sort though. =)
Star Ruler (Indie Game) Give it more than 30 minutes of gameplay and you might be completely addicted. It's a small budget indie game that 3 people worked on. It's pretty amazing, it has everything I wished Sins of a Solar Empire had. -Low Budget -High Value -Hours to spend in game -Very fun MP (when someone is around) You can have infite armada of ships or gigantic ships as large as a planet/s
The nice thing about the Gaming Market is that it's not drilled in a stone tablet it's frequently changing. I remember when games had little profit and was an industry about doing something you enjoyed rather than driving a ferrari to work. Now you have people who can enjoy there work and drive a ferrari or people who enjoy there work and drive there standard middle class car. Point is the industry is very diffrent than what it use to be like and I think it'
Love how the titan does OVER 9000!! damage. Good stuff Really looking forward to what you guys can do
Largest. Edit: My brothers play on the Largest maps too.

Is Janusk related to Fargoth?
Loved it.
I didn't realize the AI difficulty option until 4 days ago. Major difference. Hope those hardcore players who complained about the game being to easy knew about this. :)
Merry Christmas! Your latest exe (11b) is proving to be more than just a tweak, im really enjoying it!
I'm talking about the part where all life on the planet was nearly wiped out, and everything else left destroyed.
If something is destroyed it doesn't mean you can't gather (scavenge) from it. As far as materials go anyways I mean all you need is a building that makes materials magically (workshop) so how is that any more lore than placing a material producing building next to a forest? Hmm, IDEA *Light Bulb* So you know how the land starts out barren? You
I work for my father running a liquor business and If I ask him to do me a favor he'll say something along the lines of "No problem" I'll be down there shortly...... Hours will go by and he's still not anywhere to be found. So whenever the big boss says something along the lines of anything time related like "I'll be down in 10 minutes" we multiply it by x5 or so. <div class="ds
Turn pacing seems ok at best for me until around turn 350. at season 350ish I'm the smartest strongest kingdom and everyone is still researching old useless stuff that they can't even use or want to use. I have little else to research and things are becomming boring and tedious. (I've stopped 2 games one at season 412 and the other at turn 343 because of this) I feel like I had to rush to get as m
Calling research into magic a 'tech' does not tie in to fantasy fiction very well, at least not traditionally.
Very much agree with this. I was thinking maybe other ways to obtaining all your spells would be best through quests, but quests already need so much work as it is... We keep throwing 1 thing that doesn't feel right into another thing. (Spellbooks in Magic Tech seems doable for the time being, but Tech and Magic def sounds odd..)
City spamming would absolutely get WORSE, not better, with a system like what Op talks about. Then you'd need another arbitrary mechanic to prevent city-spam - like Civ5 had - that makes no sense and isn't fun to play with.
That would be the consequence and yes there is always way to counter things and if we could think of a better way to keep city spamming to a minimum then yes this would work very nicely... Where is einstein when you really need him. On a side
Items generator is 1 thing Diablo 2 got right I think. Learn and improve, this method is a certain way to get people addicted. Grand Scale Item Generator has my vote 2x. [e digicons][/e]

Without thinking to much of any consequences I REALLY REALLY like this idea. Resources would seem more natural. [e digicons][/e] 2 thumbs up[e digicons][/e]
U pon arriving at the quest location a window shaped as a grimoire opens up. This grimoire does not take up the entire screen It's just a window shaped as a book. As you're reading the story you flip the page (A sound triggers that suits the environment) the Quest gives
We need bigger tactical battle maps VERY badly. Right now its like a tease.. Age of Wonders had a nice feel about it, but with Elementals engine and design and look it would look Amazing!
Research something like 'Underground Route' if your built resource is being attacked outside your city then your city stationed defense will defend it? Also I think your current researched wall defense should apply for built resources inside that cities influence. Underground Route was just the first thing that came to mind, it could be like Teleportation Network or something.. Point is when you have 5+ cities and each of them has 3+ or more resources
That's a bug? I thought that was incentive to get your adventure level up, and put life into the map. (Although it shouldn't be flooding your map...) My biggest thing with the Quests is that they're kind of weak. Their should be rare lvl 1, 2, 3, 4, ect. Quests that offer more than potions and consumables.. Picking up a staff, sword or spear that's not magical is kind of shallow. Anyway if quests where awesome im sure we would love to see quest locations before we can venture into the
