You basically already have the animation for these things now lets enhance our Staffs ect with some magical properties and turn them into Ranged Magic Based Attacks. Magical Staff of Firedart - Firedart INT Based dmg. Not Strength. Magical Staff of Fireball - Fireball Ect ect. Weakness? They're not as long ranged as Archers. Maybe 3 squares range? This means you need soldiers guarding them in the front. So

Royalty is kinda lame now that CHA effects prestige. Royalty should instead add maintence decrease or something more fitting to a royal role.. I mean they can bend the rules right? Never the less good suggestion but I would like to see a lot more skills than the current one. FF Tactics/Total War had some interesting ideas. (Psst.... I want a dragoon)

Their might not be a whole lot of depth at the moment but the design and cooncept is in there and now more than ever it has me wanting "MORE" rather "FIX" which is a mighty step. Research- Caravan Reinforced : Now when caravans are attacked it will take 3 seasons for them to engage battle. You have the option to save the caravan, Caravans should also increase there usefulness if they maintain the same route or if they are veterans of trade. Yes this game is def ready to play. Only you're going to want MORE and a lot of changes but its a ton of fun now.
The races of Men and ect... are fine its how the game shows you them is whats lacking (This goes for most games). If each race had its own group of equipment to pick from outside of the already generic we would appreciate the races far more. Put an Ironeer in heavy decorative mythril armor and make him either shorter(Dwarf)or taller(Nord)and you have yourself a unique race. Unfortuntely to do this with every race takes a ton of time... money.... and time... and money

I agree that Heal spells should be a combat spell and non combat spell.
leveling system could be more advanced than just increased DMG also. You could give the wielded the option to customize his weapon... Abilities, stat increase, armor, attack, ect. This would make equipment unique and custom weapons are always fun. This would prob be an expansion idea and frogboy has talked about crafting in later expansions.
It should level. I think most weapons should level or atleast the special ones.
