seriously calling them f bombs is annoying. What I mean is, saying the phrase "f bomb" is annoying.
Well, I can't help being annoying, but I can use clean language in a public forum. EDIT: You know you are correct. That was annoying. I heard the term on the news I think, and I guess I'm not real sensitive to what is annoying and what isn't. I guess I'll have to submit to whatever penalties there are for being annoy

I always enjoy your sense of humer Xia, but the f bombs do not flatter you.
The Frog has basically dismissed modding as a mover of sales repeatedly, considering it a wasted investment fiscally.
Modding can definately move sales of expansions, but modders first and foremost require an audience, or else they won't mod. If Kael can put together a functional game out this, its likely the community will grow to a point where the mods are a big part of the value.
I can't believe the criticisms of piracy regarding FfH! In no way could the use of those assets have harmed the creators interests. If FfH were being sold for money, then they would be entitled their fair share but that was not the case. To make such a critism, the burden is on you to cite an example of assets used in spite of permission being explicitely denied. It's a non-issue. It's as if you expect that he will continue to use copyrighted material while making games for stardock! Get real
Kael! That means I didn't waste my money on Elemental, and I also didn't waste my time making a map generator. This is going to be alot of fun. Welcome!
Whoever he is, he better have an iron chin and no feelings. Because we're coming after him!
There was a bug in 1.09E but they just hotfixed it. The bug prevented any custom map from loading. I've updated to the very latest version through impulse, and I can successfully load elementerra maps.
Ok great. Still waiting on the ability to place shards and resources.
Uh oh, it seems that an investigation is in order.
The gamers bill of rights is just easier said than done. Making great games is alot more difficult than people realize. If I'm not mistaken, Ewom is only Stardock's second game if you count all the Galcivs as one game.
If there was an option in the map file to disable the random placement of resources and stuff, I could do some experimentation in regards to how things ought to be placed. That's what I've been hoping for anyway for Elementerra.
One thing I loved about AoW:SM were all the little surprises. For instance: Leprechauns being terrifying masters of hand to hand combat.
Before the patch the longbow does 6 damage compared to 3 for the shortbow. After the patch I see they change the longbow's damage to 5. That's pretty close to twice the damage, but when you have groups of twelve guys in a unit, that bonus is going to be greatly magnified. I bet a group of longbowmen could take out
The way bows are handled is an astonishing example of how so many of the game mechanics are way off the mark. 30g for a shortbow is just a bug, that's not the problem. Even at 3g, the longbow is nearly twice as effective as the shortbow! As the unit figure counts grow and fighting strength decreases as a unit takes damage, the effectiveness difference expands out to more like five times more effective. You want to lose that to save 1gp? So when I research the technology
I do not believe they exist yet. I think the idea was to port a bunch of the code to python at a later time after it solidified.

I have the idea that it could be interesting to have randomization of the tactical maps based on a set of presets like was mentione

I can't imagine that a fix will be long in coming. It makes the cartography room almost useless if we can't control the most important part of any map.

I noticed that the fire shard has no such entries. It's probably because it looked a bit goofy to have circles of terrain all over the map. If I do something like that I'll have to break it up somehow so it looks good. Maybe I can slow the expansion on mountains and hills so it at least has a natural
