[quote who="Frogboy" reply="51" id="3225122"] Quoting Cruxador, reply 50You know, I agree with the specific case of this as it relates to Stardock's current legal dispute. But I do think that "They hate because they're haters, so I don't need to listen to them" is a dangerous viewpoint to take. There are certainly people like that, but there are also people with legitimate criticisms that might merely be wrapped in vitriol for whatever reason, be it (sub)cultural or due to em

[quote who="Cauldyth" reply="35" id="3224108"]You can actually rephrase it in a much more immediate way. The cures you mention are likely quite a way off, but there's something looming much more immediately. If we pinpoint which genes are responsible for everything from cancer to near-sightedness, it then becomes possible for couples to custom build their offspring, and never need cures for those problems in the first place. But should we? If you think having

The idea is not to intervene without cause, to select and produce freaks/monstrosities or someone's idea of "perfection". The idea is to prevent disease and its attendant suffering, and to enable people to live their lives in good health. I am a bit disappo

He was more prominent in the first Expendables... "Cauliflower Ear". Oh, and the movie is good if you're going in expecting a summer popcorn flick with ridiculous action sequences and plenty of one-liners. It's basically a 1 hour, 42 minutes version of that "Dr. Pepper 10, it's not for women" commercial.<

If the "Settle" button is grayed out, hover your mouse over it and it should give you an explanation as to my you cannot settle there. After playing Beta 4 a few times, I've noticed that places that are actually fertile are few and far between. Keep exploring with your troops and when you come across tiles that have the materials/grain and essence icons, those are the places you can settle. Everywhere else, you can't, even if there's a bunch of cool resources next to each other (i

I remember Brad mentioning that his body doesn't even need the full 8 hours of sleep to function normally. Knowing that probably exasperated the condition because Brad could say to himself, "It's okay, I don't need that much sleep anyways." If he had to get by on 8 hours, I wonder if the realization that working 60-80 hours a week was not good/healthy would've come much sooner.

Yeah, it's becoming pretty sad nowadays when I have to fact check everything I read. Especially frustrating because I know a lot more people that are "purple" voters (like myself) rather than straight red/blue. If only we could vote on policy a la carte and not bundled in a giant red or blue package.

Gamersgate had SE IV on sale last year for something like 2 dollars, so I figured, "What the heck, why not? I like space 4x and haven't played this one." I think I spent the next 7 months playing the crap out of it with tons of different mods. Very excellent game that gets almost everything right.

If global warming is such a huge concern, perhaps the scientific community should get their priorities straight. This is the wrong attitude. Chevrolet had problems marketing the Chevy Nova automobile in Latin America. Since no va means "it doesn't go" in Spanish, the oft-repeated story goes, Latin American car buyers shunned the car, forcing Chevrolet to embarrassedly pull the car out of the market. Where the hell do you get this stuff? &nbsp

At the beginning of the movie when Alfred starts talking about his wish to see Bruce in some random cafe with a wife and kids, you just knew there was no way they couldn't end the movie without that scene, as cheesy as it was. Also, is Bane supposed to sound like Sean Connery hooked up to a sleep apnea machine?
