I only have Time Warner out here (and a few local area ISP's that go through Time Warner's pipes anyways), and they're not terrible. Other than overcharging for TV packages everything else is alright. They have a local office which does their best to fix the problem (as in, give you credits before you start yelling in front of other potential customers) and decent bandwidth for the price. Haven't had a problem with their routers in 5 years.

Everyone's favorite game to discuss is back! Anyways, I logged onto Steam the other day and it had patched Warlock. I go to play it and all of a sudden there's multiplayer, heroes (they're called lords) & artifacts, an artifact vault where you can disenchant current artifacts, more world events, victory condition options, plus some reworked diplomacy and AI. After only playing a few hours I can say the AI was marginally better at sending units out after me, though I ha
Question: Are there new orders from anywhere? Hero unlocks? Tech unlocks? I haven't found any yet, but I'm guessing there should be more than the initial ones you have.
Hero leveling is one way, but most of them cost dust to use and don't seem worth it compared to the standard ones (Ultimate Defense and the Black Hole one are the only ones worth anything). The standard way of getting more orders is techin
Is Allegiance still kicking? Man, that game was a blast. I remember playing that 10 years ago. If I remember correctly, it was being developed by Microsoft Game Studios and then something happened, the project fell through and they released it as freeware, then the community took over. I'd describe it like a first-person Sins of a Solar Empire. You had two teams (picked from the different factions with different ships, although I don't know how much has changed in 10 years), e
This is what happened in HOMM4 - when a hero was defeated they would go to the nearest prison, and you needed to capture the city with that prison to get the powerful hero back.
Ah, HoMMIV, a game that didn't get nearly enough credit for being a great game because it had the unfortunate legacy of following HoMMIII. Also, to Nitram, Beta 4 refers to the "4th major update" to Fallen Enchantress. For exam
I still have the MoO3 disks buried in a pile of dust around here somewhere. I'm pretty sure I was one of the few who actually enjoyed the game... there was something neat about seeing those swarms of little fighters closing in on something. It did get boring somewhat quickly after I realized the AI was very very bad. Perhaps if I have some time I'll give the chocolate mod a try.
My point is, Elemental: World of Magic was the most ridiculously unfinished game I've pre-ordered and payed $50 for.
I see you didn't pre-order Sword of the Stars II. "Six!? What happened to seven?" "Just kidding!"
I believe that anyone who bought War of Magic in 2009 gets Fallen Enchantress and a yet-to-be-named additional expansion for free. People who bought War of Magic in 2010 get Fallen Enchantress for free and everyone who bought War of Magic in 2011 I think get a discount on FE. I believe you had to have installed War of Magic through Impulse in those timeframes to get the stuff, although if you didn't and have proofs of purchase Stardock Support can probably help you out.
I know right? I mean, it's like the CEO of the company whose game was not up to par actually wanted to give something back to the gamers who have stood by him for so long. Although in my case, I paid $70 to beta test War of Magic and get FE for free... and have a shiny pewter dragon and cloth-but-not-cloth map of Elemental. I don't know of any other company that gave me free stuff and two more games when the release of one of their games went south.
quoting post Let me first say that a lot of TNG episodes don’t hold up well. Burrrr. Some of them are really bad. I started watching TNG again because of this topic, and I completely agree with your statement here. 'Encounter at Farpoint' had so many cringe moments I almost gave up. But after watching a few more it gets better I think. I do have a new goal should the situation ever arise that I
I think I've come up with a bulletproof way of recommending this game: Ask yourself this question, "If I was forced to choose between either GalCiv or Sins, which do I prefer?" If you answered GalCiv: ----> BUY ENDLESS SPACE, ENJOY BIG SPACE PARTY AWESOMENESS

"Vintage" PC, in no particular order X-Wing (My parents didn't get me Tie Fighter after all the sweat and tears that went into X-Wing) SimCity 2000 Wolfenstein 3D / Spear of Destiny Escape Velocity (and Override, Nova) Heroes of Might and Magic II (my sister and I played II so much, I really enjoy 3 and it is the superior game, but for nostalgia factor II wins hands down) "Vintage" Console, in no particular order

Another episode I have to throw out there that I haven't seen mentioned yet is "The Next Phase" where Geordi and Ensign Ro are believed to have died in a transporter accident but are really just phased and trying to figure a way to get the attention of the crew before they perish in that bariyon (or something) sweep. Data gets to plan the funeral and does a bang-up job. It probably wouldn't be in my top 5, but in my top 10, sure. "But my uniform... my visor... are you saying I

Most significantly, I found that besides the incredible cosmetic variance, I quickly became bored with my three choices (guns, lasers, or whatever the third thing was), and I found the need to update my Lasers II to Lasers III unsatisfying.
Essentially that is the core of shipbuilding in ES as well. You have your choice of gu
I agree with seanw3 for the most part, the AI was pretty simplistic in the Alpha version, but the current Beta versions show much more promise. Before I was always able to get away in battle using the same 3 cards over and over again, but now the AI noticed and deployed his 3 cards to specifically counter my own. I still won because I had better ships (took some damage though), but it was still nice to see... and made me think twice about my cards the next time I got into a big fight. The AI
All this stuff added while we're still months and months away from release? This mod is going to be a beast! After the War and Reliquary for FE? Yes please!
