If you have a fraction of lower power is encountered you can declare war on them and then before exiting the conversation go to treaty and demand surrender. Kind of a cheap tactic. The reason I think this is a bug is that if you exit the conversation after declaring war; they will refuse to speak to you for N turns....

A fraction had significant stronger than myself. Before the first battle; I casted a series of strategic spells on his attack party. The next turn he resigned (I had taken none of his cities or attacked any other armies; this was late game and our first conflict).
Usually when I immoblize the enemy and then hit end of turn the game hangs and the end of turn button cease to work (even after exit and reloading the game).
Ok thanks; when i cast it i don't remember seeing a portrait but will try again as soon as I have the spell (again - in a new game). Weird thing I have like 7 heroes and not one of them know air magic :( very upsetting.
Hum. Not sure this is relevant but more quests; more items and more dungeons :) - What would be sort of neat ('cept it would take way too long) is to be able to build tunnels behind enemy lines (or take a series of dungeons). I think it sounds neat but in practice I'm not sure it is really relevant. What I've been finding is that my 'large' army can almost always dominate the enemy but the biggest issue is moving it into place fast enough. </p
I'm a bit confused; I frequently see caravans moving (even some of them own by me) but I have no clue how to build them. ?? - I also haven't been able to figure out how to buld roads. I see the [ROAD] option on pioneer and I click it and a circle forms but I don't see how to actually complete the road with an end point... ?? - I also couldn't seem to get the teleport army spell to work. either I didn't know how to click or something. The arm
Nehanski -- My comment on early game (early here is relative) is not with the mobs; but with the computer getting you boxed in and yes placement is a difference between an easy game and hard game. Not just the tile of the city; but placement relative to the computer opponents. If they manage to box you in quickly so you can't expand then they are quite aggressive. However
I used stinking mud quite a bit in my last game; mostly for end quests; where I wanted to immobilize large number of opponents while my other csaters charged fireballs; worked like a charm - and made those quests very easy.
I've played a couple of games (mostly on default hardness less) and generally I find the early game can be difficult (esp if you get boxed in early) but the late game becomes trivial easy. I also find that the opponents tend to surrender easy (whigh gives you access to a great champion). - I think the game would be a bit more enjoyable if: a) More items (and items diversity); I just love finding treasures; but a bit of diversity could help here b) The early
I did move them to the gate; and I stood on the gate... and click the quest icon and nothing happens. I am a newbie; but I did manage to complete every other quest in the game.... so i'm not 100% dense. - Btw I am willing to send a save game to someone familiar with the quest if they want to check what is going on.
Sorry there is a quest icon; when I click on it nothing happens. I think the quest is broken.
How do I find the darkling town and temple? The entire map has been explored; I've conqured all opponents; 'cept one town to leave the game running and I simply cannot find darkling town (though I probably already killed it) or the temple. Could I be blind or could it be a bug ?
I'm in the late game and tyring to open aa gate 'bound with magic'. There was some text at the start of the game when I first passed this gate but now I see no way to rediscover the quest objective for opening the gate. There is one active quest: Defeat waeloga the dragonlord; but nothing happens when I click that to get a description or hint (not sure if it is related to the gate).
I think there should be a bit of change when heroes are defeated. Specifically I can kill the an enemy leader multiple times and everytime they 'escape' and come back. It becomes a race to ensure that 100% of the leaders cities are taken to defeat him which (imho) can be a bit annoying on a large sprawling map. Not sure of the solution here; I certainly think there should be some initial chance (close to 100%) of escape on a random death; but perhaps if you kill em 10 times in 30 turn
I think they were down for only a few minutes; then they came back. I was getting login error for about 10 minutes; i had to keep restarting because i keep hitting a point in the game will it falls into an infinite loop; so i got frustrated and stopped playing for now.
The game can't log in again :( Also I keep hitting an infinite loop; is anyone else having this problem? (I keep having to kill the game and reload because I keep hitting an ifinite loop one or two turns out from the current save)
Thanks; will test when i get home !
I've had a few bugs with 4v2: infinite loop; no clue what triggerd this but at one point i hit next turn; hour class came up; I waited about 5 minutes while I web browsed (machine is a sb 2500k and turns normally take a few seconds); brought up task manager; saw one of cpu at 100% and killed the game. - occasional crashes when I reload a game (not nearly as bad as 4v1; but it does still happen - I captured a tower from an enemy; then signed a peace
My main character can only have 5 soliders in her army (2 champions; an archver and 2 mages; in case that matters). - I thought something like influence could be used to increase an army size but the size has not changed from since she was level 1 to now (level 10 or 11 or maybe 12). Is there a way for me to increase the army size (or even tell what the max size is)
While I think the gui has been greating improved I have a few annoyances after last night play session (and comments to fix): - a) On the left hand side you have a vertical bar (armies, cities, quests) and you can scroll this bar up/down but the last item (for very long bars that fill the screen) is covered at the bottom. Can we please be able to scroll it a bit higher so we can access the last item. b) In the trade screen you can trade items and equip i
HOw many do you normally see in a game of 7 or 8 hours ?
So I played a couple of beta 4 games (not full games of course; due to game ending crashes; but several hours) and I haven't figured out how do you get henchmen? Normally there is one near you when you first start but after that I don't seem to find them at all. I thought mybe buliding an inn would help but it didn't seem to do so. In my second game which lasted around 6 to 7 hours (before game ending crash) I had the one henchman at start of the game and one other that joined a f
Can i email them the save game ? I could put it up on a webserver I own for download but then I dont' want to post the url to the forum. The crash is trivial to produce; just move south towards the city (one turn) and kaboom. [quote who="Kongdej" reply="67" id="3217131"] Quoting you28, reply 66I reached an end position where everytime I approach the enemy city the game crashes. This is repeatable (have save file). Post it on the FE

Ok. I ack that this is reasonable during beta.
