Ya when I play I constantly get orchards, gold, ventri, and crystal mines spawning in my territory from the AI researching these techs. Kinda nice but also kinda off. Really need to either change the system to the Civ one or at least make sure they spawn only in your territory. These techs however are a good way to make sure that everyone can get at least some iron or crystal. Ventri mines could however use a nerf. You can get all the iron you need from just one. You should have to tr

Crashes are pretty much gone, but there are still a few significant bugs if you check out the support and general areas of the forum. Also before you release 1.1 you need to do a quick run through and polish! Make sure the descriptions of techs are accurate in particular. Right now half them don't do what they say they do and that will really throw people off this game.
You have suggested the solution yourself. Get armor! While I agree that in some games you get swamped a little to early, in most games just researching equipment or having a tough Sov off the bat will allow you to survive long enough to fight back. Leather and to a lesser degree padding makes all your units monster slayers. Sure the game is challenging at the start now but that's a good thing.
You should be able to offer a "dowry" in order to make sure that your new son or daughter in law ends up on your team instead of it being random. I think this would be pretty easy to implement, as you can already buy allies champions. In a perfect world you would be able to have "dowries" of everything from cities to alliances as well. This would make the system so much more political and awesome.
I think when they have the time they should just release a multiplayer version that is the same as singleplayer, and after that release a competitive version. That way they can get back feedback. Also I think most players just want to goof around with their friends in the elemental world, not play head to head competitively. Competitive would be nice but it's not a pressing issue and you would think that a normal mode would be easier to put out.
All very nice observations especially 7. Every game I play is like this as well. For 1 though I play as a custom kingdom faction and don't have this problem. As for 9 I like tough monsters and I'm not afraid to say it!
Thanks Frogboy for your response. Nice to know someone is working on it.
Monsters still stop spawning half way through the game for me. I have made several threads on it but have never gotten a response.
Odd. I play hard and the exact opposite occurs. Factions usually don't even expand beyond a single city until 100 turns in.
I like the idea but not buying out of the shop. This should be the entire point of questing. If you can't get something unique from questing why do it?
I'm I the only still no getting any monsters tougher then young ogres? Anyone here get anything tougher spawning? Monsters just stop spawning altogether for me soon after the first young ogre appears. I think this was mentioned in a past patchlog and supposedly fixed, but if so it didn't work for me. I have reported this bug(?) every time a new patch has been released and would appreciate some official confirmation of whether this is a bug or not.
12. Added the Garden improvement (Kingdom only). 13. Added the Skath Pit improvement (empire only).
Now i'm intrigued!
I like the monsters. It adds personality to the game. Also makes the beginning of the game more interesting becasue it's challenging. No limitless expanding without even having to build any troops until 50 turns in. I just usually get equipment right of the start and build lightly armored spear guys. One or two in each city will keep the monsters away. Same deal with Sov. Get him a level or two, a weapon and even one piece of armor and he is basically wolf and spider proof. Troops really aren
Ya, I have played plenty of games where I am cut off by one or more AI's and yet 75% of the world is empty. Now that we can't spell cheese it's really hard to do anything because of the ridiculous items AI's apparently start with.
Thanks Derek for your response.
26. Monster spawning now balanced for new world difficulty settings. 27. Monsters spawn more gradually at the start of a game. 28. Monsters are less likely to attack cities.
Does this mean monster bug is fixed? Will monsters keep spawning? Also I really liked monsters attacking cities, it prevented expanding without actually building an army. Hopefully they are still a thre
http://filebin.ca/dwmkkd/BrokenAI.EleSav A game in 1.09r where the AI acted really dumb, most of them never expanded. I thought it might be useful for debugging and AI improvements.
Cool, all the changes look nice. Hate to sound ungrateful but could we get a quick Great Mill nerf as well, it's obviously OP. Also There is still the monster bug which I have a thread on here. https://forums.elementalgame.com/401821
This was supposedly fixed according to the 1.09p patch log but it still happens to me. I get to young ogres and then monsters just stop spawning. Kinda kills late game fun. 1.09q save http://filebin.ca/swkhej/NoMonsters.EleSav 1.09r save http://filebin.ca/dwmkkd/BrokenAI.EleSav
Except that the Greater Shard Upgrade and Temple of Essence require it to be in a city.
I have had daughters in law come with ridiculous items as well, and fought a few sovereigns that ran around in full plate and one shotted my troops. His troops were clad only in leather..... Anyway ya touch of entropy solved that problem.
Sounds like you burning through massive amounts of mana. How do you get so much early game? Especially with so many imbued champions. How do they have enough intelligence to cast arcane arrow?
Since magic plays such a huge part in combat in elemental there should an intelligence boosting item or two you can equip your troops with. This would allow you to increase their magic resistance, and keep them from dying in mass from late game magic.
The mid game bug that prevents monsters from spawning still exists. This was supposedly fixed according to the P patch log but it still happens to me. I got to young ogres in several games before monsters just stopped spawning. Here is the one where it's the most obvious. http://filebin.ca/swkhej/NoMonsters.EleSav
Either is materials, or gold, because you get so much. Either is crystals, or elementium becasue you really don't need it. Basically as long as you have food your good to go. The exception being Iron sometimes if its late game and your in a war, and knowledge so you spam libraries like crazy.
Wow I actually beat a game without a single crash! Great work Stardock. Guess I will have to talk about balance since i have no stability issues. Monster bug is not fixed! Monsters still stop spawning mid game. This is my biggest issue by far. Materials are the non bug thing that bothers me the most when i played. All you need to do is build one or two workshops off the start then get production. After building the Great Mill you never have to worry about materials again
