That's why the more I think about it the less I want the spells in the game.
Agreed. I never liked how these spells were presented as low level utility spells, it's just wrong from both a gameplay and an immersion perspective. Spells like lower mountain might be fun if they are both expensive and high level, so that when it is used it is something impressive.

Yay! Sounds good, I like a lot of the traits you've given the factions and their leaders. We'll need to see how it all works out of course, but it sounds like most factions will have a unique playstyle. Also, is that Sauron in the first screenshot? Or maybe the guy from Overlord? I know that I will not read the histories if they are behind a tab, even though I really like the lore aspect of the game. If it is easily displayable in the character sheet I will get more attached to the game world.
Have you ever played Age of Wonders? One of my favorite parts were the unit discriptions. That's incredible. You've got to love such attention to detail. I wouldn't mind having that on my wall, and if he's looking for a new project; perhaps a similar one of Europe? I love maps, doesn't matter if they're real or fantasy. Just this afternoon I was ogling the map that came with my premium edition of The Witcher 2. Having a map just makes it seem more real, that there is more to the world than the parts you see in the game. Same thing with real world ma

Thanks RedneckDude, roflmfaoo, and DrJBHL. I used this program, and although I can't say it has made a big difference, it didn't cause any problems either. It did clear my 'most recently used' list though, but I only noticed by coincidence as I hardly ever use it.

I share your concern about the balance between heroes, sovereigns, and armies, but it's to early to tell anything about them right now. They seem really powerful in Brad's sneak peeks, but he has commented on this himself, saying that they might be a bit too powerful. To be honest I don't really like any of your suggestions to fix it. a ) Casting a spell on heroes to give them the 'survive death in battle' ability. I think this would not be fun for a number of
oh and specifically as far as early game strategy.. bring it on!! If as a player I cannot adapt (through multiple games) to the AI taking early advantage and rushing me, then I don't deserve to be playing the game imo or at least on normal difficulty. Once again, this shouldn't be a factor for every AI and then when it is... DIPLOMACY! Two things.
Yuck. That's completely the opposite of what I would like. I d

Yeah that part was pretty bad, adding a completely pointless machine just because you need a laugh or something. Reminds me a bit off the scene in Galaxy Quest where they have this pointlessly dangerous room in the ship, just because they needed a dangerous moment in an episode. But other than a few minor things like that, I quite liked the movie. Making it an alternate timeline gives them the freedom to do new things without the fans going nuts screaming "THAT NEVER HAPPENED!!!!1!11!
I love how blatantly bias and untruthful media is by labeling violent groups "rightwing", big on small government where they? Communists are as far left as you can get and they were rabidly anti-semantic. Fascists actually believe in strong central government and strong controls on the market, which actually makes them very "left-wing", but the media finds that truth a little inconvenient. If you don't believe it then look it up. [

Ah yes, right wing people are all really nice people and the world would be a perfect place if they would run it, and left wing people are really just egocentric savages, held only in check getting things for free from the honest hard working right wingers. How the #$%^&^* do you arive at that point in a thread like this? OT; I live close to belgium and visit it quite a lot. Scary to have something like that happen so close by. Although, thinking about it, stuff like this happens

Giant scorpions would be very impractical as mounts. With other animals, you are pretty safe from their attacks should the become unruly. A scorpion could just stick you with it's stinger. But maybe being able to use their pincers and stinger in battle make up for the risks. Does anyone know, are scorpions especially strong, fast, or mobile for their size?

I can see there's no arguing with you lulapilgrim. You believe in a god, you want to see god in everything, and surprise surprise, you do. Even while trying to convince us you're right, you just show how wrong you are. Like your definition of theology:
Theology is certainly a branch of learning that involves a methodical investigation, presupposes Christian Faith . All the other sciences integrate into theology, the science

The level up buildings come close, but the whole system lacks something. For one, it requires the town to grow, so you can't add any other conditions for attaining a trait. So no town can slowly devolve into a haven for criminals because there are no troops to keep order, or you haven't build a city guard yet. Second, it requires you to actually place something on the map, which I find rather inelegant. Take LightofAbraxas' examples; why would a harvest festival or militar
