Wait, so this series actually fixes the plot? I may give it a try, even if there'll probably be no Kyle "Chuck Norris looks like me not the other way around" Katarn love in it. Any chance it'll extend beyond the Clone Wars and overwrite Revenge of the Sith?

Meh, these days I tend to ignore anything Star Wars related that doesn't have Kyle "Awesome Beard" Katarn in it. I remember seeing a few episodes of the cartoon version of The Clone Wars, thought it was OK. Haven't seen the CGI one, but I did play the game based on it. It was sort of better than The Force Unleashed in regards to how a lightsaber is supposed to work, but the padwan Anakin had grated my cheese whenever she called him "Sky guy". If that happens trought the entire series,
I thought about actually playing the tutorial for once and something funny happened. I got to the "Recruit a champion" bit. The pop-up showed up, with the tutorial message, I clicked on watch the movie, it played it in the small window in the Hiergeminon (70% sure I spelled it wrong) and above it the tutorial message showed up again. I clicked watch the movie again and the game screen (ran in a borderless window) went black. No commands seemed to work, so after fiddling a bit I Alt F4'd o
I'm diving into the beta now and probably won't come up for air until tomorrow morning, so if there's anything Derek wants to tell us about any updates, now would be a good time. I'll wait five minutes and plunge head first into the briney deep.
I found a different one! Friday afternoon and Saturday I'll be playing FE non stop, so a new update would be fun. But regardless, thar be beta testing to be done! Testing I should have done last week, but I learned the hard way that it's not pleasant to play strategy games with a fever induced headache.
Basic things like getting up every day and being at work at a consistent time. 5 days a week.
You mean like holiday? [e digicons][/e] My dad had the same idea, so after I finished high school he took me with him to work for the summer, at an auto repair shop. Because up until then, getting to school at 7AM every day, spending 6-7 hours in class, spending another 3-4 hours doing homew
I played the preview build a few months ago, and it was surprisingly stable on a machine that was well below specs. I haven't gotten to the demo, but I expect it's not overly different from the other build. It was probably the most fun I've had in a Paradox grand strategy in a while. Looking forward to the final version on the 14th.
I suggest the ability to summon Devil Deer, that stalk the sovereign from a distance. They don't necesseraly do anything, but are creepy.
Meh, Kurt Vonnegut Jr. didn't know a lick of science and he is one of the greatest sci-fi writers of all time.
Sciense fiction is one thing, writing articles about scientific discovery is well "28 days to make its orbit which is very similar to our own one-month loops around the sun." I read that three times to make sure my flue didn't make me read what I thought I understood I saw while reading. I symp
Good find Doc. Also, I've been curious about LibreOffice as well. How does it fare compared to Open Office?
And the sovereigns are actually the missing primarchs.... wait... [e digicons]:(O[/e] ... MOD IDEA!
I remember disabling auto-turn, even auto-save. I'll get to the bottom of this. I'd hate to think I wasted dev time with a non existent issue, caused by some system fluke.

Oh, I wanted to post this: Now it's redundant.
I'll do a proper test of this over the week-end and try to get to the bottom of it. It's probably hard to duplicate on proper hardware, since my rig is ooooold. I'm not 100% sure how the AI thinks, but if it's multithreaded, one of the threads may be getting stuck(if threads can do that) in some cases. Probably because of a combination of Windows XP and an ancient singlecore CPU. Which would also explain why the game on occasion doesn't shut down after closin
Again, Medium map, 5 opponents, Moderate resources, the issue has gone away. I swear I didn't do anything to my PC, other than praying for it. I'll try a few more games with lots of resources to see if this was really the cause.
This is going to sound strange, but since I started using the Normal density of resources, instead of Lots/Dense/More(I forget what was the highest one), this hasn't happened, even on small maps with 2 opponents (used to happen on tiny with only one). I'm guessing that having a lot of resources makes the AI think about ways it can have the mall, and it gets to a point where it can't decide because of my slow CPU.
What really killed the SW prequels for me was Anakin becoming Vader mostly because he acted like 12 year old on the internet who couldn't find any rational reason behind his actions and statements, so he started to throw tantrums, threats and called everyone a Nazi... then he killed a bunch of kids for the fun of it. I could stomach JarJar, I could stand little Any, I could overlook the plotholes, but making that wuss Vader was just painful. That retroactively poisoned the prequel
Again, this could be set as a type of wound, "Blood Trai"l, the monsters follow you until it heals/is cured.
Sooo... this happened: Not much to say, I summoned an Air Elemental by using a scroll one of the champions had. I attacked the existing Air Elemental with mine, and they started doing that until I hit the autoresolve combat button. Ignore the obscene mana indicator, I sort of, kind of, cheated a bit so I can muck about with the spells. Not sure if that had anything to do with the animations. I made sure to
I haven't the foggiest why, but in a game today it sort of returned to normal, and the only thing I changed was setting the amount of resources from dense to normal. Could my PC have gotten faster over the week-end? More testing to come.
Since I'm using a fairly old video card, I expected some graphics related issues to be present, and they are. None of them are critical, but just in case, here they are. <img src="http://thumbnails63.imagebam.com/17237/4f16e6172364191.jpg"
The best testers for this are people with crappy computers and terrible OSes (single core, Windows XP users). We don't officially support single core CPU’s because they’re so old but their terrible performance helps us find bugs.
And finally my system is good for something again. Proud to help out [e digicons][/e]
Complaint 3: Long end game turn lengths There is an inncoulous check for city contiguity that gets very expensive late game which I’ve changed to only care about if it’s humans since the AI just uses the auto place system anyway. This little tweak just reduced the turn times by 75%.
That may solve my problems and let me play properly before going back to the PC that actually uses parts produced this decade.&nbs
Well, 5 seconds on an i7 would probably translate to 40 seconds on an Anthlon 64 @ 1.8 GHz, singlecore CPU. I'll have to wait until next month to play the beta properly(on a Pentium D). Still, the time jump between .76 to .77 is unexpectedly large.
