The game isn't really an RPG, I don't think you level up. Also, there's no pathfinding, you have to keep clicking, or use a gamepad. Once you get all the elements(takes about 10 minutes), and you start to randomly combine them, I guarantee it will be for you. The insane amount of spells you can make is.... well, insane. Then there's the humor. Good Lord do I wish I could hear that mock language they made up more often.

It's very fun, but I wish it didn't hog 600MB of RAM just to get to the main menu.
I just got my prize, not even the snow storm could keep it away from me. After I finish my exams, I look forward to finally being able to play Elemental with the 3D engine activated at all times. [e digicons][/e] A big thank you to Stardock for hosting the contest and making the game, to the people who voted for me, and to Kathleen Lane, for making sure the prize got here safe and sound. [e digicons][/e]
It's Enchantress. And it worked for Ultima 2, so why wouldn't it be proper for Elemental?
The hat analogy made me think of only one thing. But contrary to what Team Fortress 2 has thought us, too many hats can be a bad thing.
Don't understand why not, unacomm. Works, and takes me to the same url as yours. If it wasn't working for you, how did you get to the same url?
I searched for the title of the article[e digicons][/e] It's probably something to do with my Opera, for a few versions now, just about anything that has a facebook plug in or something similar will just not load 8/10 times.
The article about dust cleaning didn't work for me, if anyone else has that problem use this link. Thank you for the tips in the article. The one about dust is really going to come in handy when I reactivate my main PC that's been sitting around and gathering dust without a video card since May.
Awesome. I've been waiting for 44 and 46 for ages [e digicons][/e]
The X series can be a lot of fun, if you like space sims that not only let you fly a ship, but in essence, build your own empire. It does take a lot to get used to though, and there is the occasional bug, especially in TC when it comes to the missions. I would recommend TC however, because the space ship controls actually allow for mouse powered combat. The one I've played the most was X2, and let me tell you, few things can compare with that feeling of scouting out a Xenon infested s
Quoting Lord Xia, reply 2Do those chicks get naked? Again, I like your thought process
Well do they? Just curious since I've been wanting to see the movie, but have a low tolerance for boredom.
This used to happen to me often in 1.09. It was caused by the auto-explore option of some units. If you have it active on any unit, disable it, it may help.
Good luck everyone, make us proud [e digicons]:D[/e] Also, in case whoever will handle the image associated with the Shadow World spell(about which I will never shut up, ever) in the spellbook is reading, I have a suggestion. Picture this: an outside shot of the world of Elemental in a corner and right above it, a tare in space, with a dark planetoid barely visible. And from that tare, something like a dark smog, or viscous fluid pouring out, with scary faces in it
Sweet, I can hardly wait. Also, seeing the description of Shadow World in an official press release gets me right her *points* right here.
I've recently had a few ideas on the implementation of Diplomatic Capital and I would like to share my thoughts. Feel free to comment and add your own ideas. Firstly, having DC being generated like any other resource causes it to accumulate in fairly large quantities. This doesn't really fit well since it's a concept, something intangible, not a resource. It should be a reflection of the status of a faction and it's relation to other factions, and therefore shouldn't be generated by t
From personal experience, I would have to say Fallout fanboys. After the first Fallout 3 teaser came out, I could not have a rational discussion about the game for over a year with anyone on a forum, without some people doing their best to enforce their opinion as fact, regardless of how much evidence was show to the contrary. They they got mean. The sad part, I wasn't aware Fallout fans could be volatile until Fallout 3. But in all fairness, any person that gets too attached
Just to clarify, the name Shadow World refers to what happens to the world of Elemental after the spell is cast, rather than the place where the shadows come from. It would be cool if the light levels in the game were lowered while the spell is active, but I don't know if that's possible.
Good point, then you can never go wrong with more diverse spells [e digicons][/e] Deathball actually sounds very nice.
A big thank you to Stardock and to everyone who voted for Shadow World. I'm looking forward to plunging the land into darkness [e digicons]\o/[/e] I really liked some of the other spell suggestions and I hope they get into the game, at least in spirit if not in name. You can never go wrong with more spells.
[e digicons][/e] I'd like to thank everyone who voted for the ability to fill a world with rampaging monsters. Knowing there are people out there who want the same thing makes me feel all warm inside, and somewhat scared.
Happy new year to everyone at Stardock and on these forums. May you have a 2011 that's better than 2010.
For Christmas I got myself a gamepad... last month. I decided giving was better than receiving, so I gave all my money to the bank. Oo, happiness juice:[e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e]
Love the spell ideas. If you can't get them all into the game, I hope they will at least inspire you to make some really powerful magic for Elemental. Also, in regards to my submission, it recently dawned on me that the other Sovereigns may notice all the creatures of darkness roaming around and start to not like the caster as much.
If I ever get around to moding(I've been putting it off for months because of work), I want to try and make a spell that lets me summon the friggin Devil, beat him to an inch of his life, and make him my servant. Unless of course Stardock does it first. I won't mind. Hopefully after this spell contest ends, there would be a lot more spells in the game. A tone more, useful ones, like Cracks Call :D
Later Edit: Disregard, I missed something very obvious. I was playing around with the faction editor, and made a faction with the Master Archers perk. When I started the game, I could design units with bows, but I couldn't build them. They didn't show up in the build cue. I researched Advanced Archery, and the game told me it had designed for me a new archer unit. It did, but that didn't show up either. I initially thought that the Master Archers trait was bugge
Darn, and I was getting ready for bed. Guess I'll have to play Elemental now [e digicons][/e]
