A grey area to me was Highlander death by beheading. When I was a kid I thought it was any beheading, but later I was told it had to be a Highlander that did it (special effects and lightning show, I guess, is a requirement), and not just anybody who happens to bring a sharp heavy blade to their neck. So I would say it is also reasonable if another channeler, powerful hero, or immortal monster has to be present to
I think the best solution to the biggest disagreement on this game would be: Sovereign can die: Yes Sovereign can grow very powerful over the course of a game. Losing this powerful sovereign would be a huge risk but a risk that could be worth taking. The risk: If the sovereign dies an heir successor takes over. This heir is like the sovereign at the beginning of the game. Weak. Brand new. You have to sta

In the latter, I don't want to have to micromanage tons of cities and units, and I'd rather not lose everything on an unlucky roll, although I might live with that.
Sorry this one is both. ALthough the hide option is actually quite cool. If you really want
OOOh something through Ready2Play would be cool
Yes, what I am saying is that the current system encourages you to create every unit with a shield. yeah... that was my point. It won't stay that way.
I can't see why anyone would expect it to.
I'd vomit fish with excitement if Stardock took a swing on a dungeon keeper like game. (Startopia? It was the same game, except you weren't specifically evil, and it was in space not in a dungeon.... and you had to pay to open up areas of the map, which solved the problem of digging towards the opponents as fast as possible and basically end the game in 10 min if its fair multiplayer)
No you couldn't do that in
Quoting Raven X, reply 7 Quoting KellenDunk, reply 6I can't imagine that it will remain "can hold a weapon in one hand and a shield in the other" because that seriously limits the potential for variety in units. Why would you ever make units without shields, in that situation? Well, if you have foot-knights, I.E. foot soldiers in full plate. If armed with a sword And shield they would have higher defense then when armed wi

I think we can have a system that has all the requirements of a PBEM game without the need to actually PBEM. With saved games stored on stardocks server it could send a notice through your impulse account when your turn has arrived. You play your turn, it saves the game to the server and notifies the next impulse account.
An interesting development. I wouldn't mind a resurrection spell, but the resurrection gambit would have to be hugely expensive and maybe have a significant chance to fail. This hiding thing allows some players to play his like a normal civ game or almost exactly like MoM...
A lot of the responses are about running the system with the onboard as the primary solution. The guy is simply asking if it would cause some sort of conflict, and his desire for redundancy in video solutions isn't a bad thing if it is his only system. If something DOES happen to his card he could use the onboard solution until he can get his card replaced. The fact that it exists and is just sitting there doing nothing isn't going to hurt his performance.
I do agree that the UI with the infinite researching is currently misleading. When you've researched everything and are working on an infinite research tech, the green progress gauge that wraps around the icon should probably stay full, maybe use a little bit of that space for a different colored indicator that shows progress towards next upgrade....
Could you be more specific about "could not build"? Was it unavailable as a building option?

I wouldn't say that immortality means that he will not be KILLED, only that he will not die without someone or something else actually killing him. Much like the elves in the Lord of the Rings. Which are immortal, but may be murdered or die of heartbreak, which leads me to an interesting idea. Could we make the Sovereigns vulnerable to death by heartbreak? If you marry off a bunch of your sons and daughters and some evil-type decides to slaughter them all mer
I'm not sure the idea of succession of the throne is really going to take place in this game. Your sovereign is immortal and he is the boss.
This animation sets its own standard
That cartoon is spot on!
I don't think it makes much difference whether factions look different based on clothing styles or body designs. What I'm hoping to see most is AIs (with agendas based in the back story) that make as much or more of a difference in game play as any blunt instruments like a faction bonus for agility or mana production.
I'm hoping for that as well.
Love the idea, but surely I would be better to call it Elemental wiki, so it can be used after the beta.
A long term wiki page might be a good idea.
MoM is still the best, followed by AoW 2. - SM There is 1 problem with MoM however...the AI sucked badly. Yeah, all I really want is MoM with really good AI, all known bugs fixed - and there were MANY of them (see section 10.5) and multiplayer. One of the reasons why I think subsequent games have failed to capture what it is that makes MoM so amazing is because their developers did not truly understand i
