Well, it's a known phenomenon. Guys go from fanboys to a rabid pack of trolls on release date. I think it has something to do with the mentality that in a Beta, you feel more of a fellowship with the developers - you are working together to make a better game, which should give a fairly high tolerance to small problems - but on release, you switch toles to being paying customers that feel things should no longer be unstable or buggy at al
I'll let Wintersong or one of the other regulars handle the YouTube spin-off ;) The game works and it IS fun. We've got a LOT of good times ahead, I have no doubt.
Correct me if I'm mistaken but uhh is this version actually the "release" version? AFAIK the pre-release is just the gold version that is not as complete as the 0-day version (tomorrow) is supposed to be.
According to Frogboy the version that was released today is Half Way between "Gold release" and "0-Day Patch release". I'd say we can still expect an update today or tomorrow but it probably won't be a "Massive" update. Proba
Day 0 is NO fun when the game doesnt play. Spending it in the support forum is not fun. On the other side, I must say that there are relatively few but reports there, so the release doesnt seem to be broken or anything. Still I assume that Stardock is racking up quite a list of things to consider and fix for the next days. At least I hope so, since I cannot play.
I hope your game gets fixed ASAP my friend so you can enjoy the b
The Game is out, the modders are working, The Trolls and Fanboys are flaming and jerking, The Devs are resting after much labor and toil, while the game's players are burning midnight oil. Let's have some fun, let's have a blast, the joys of this game for many years will last. Don't get bent out of shape over a crash or a bug, just conquer a neighbor and beat down their thugs. Kill off their dragons, loot their wagons,
The offer is appreciated, though I'm no stranger to texture creation, as you suspected! My main gripe is the utterly convoluted way of dealing with color and alpha. It seems you need to create a texture; a single row of pixels, and the Cauldron draws color and alpha information from that texture like a timeline over the particle's lifespan. They warn on startup that the Cauldron is hard to use, but I've /never/ seen such bas
Whew. Got the game and browsed some of the effects. Some are decent, but I'll have lots of work to do!
I've noticed custom particles can be made in PSD form (I use Photoshop for that) and used in the particle editor. I'm not sure what your skills are with making new custom art but if you need a hand or need any specific sprites made I could probably find time between the other stuff I'm doing. Just say the word.<
The game really, Really, needs a "Delete a Sovereign" button on the screen where you pick or create your Sovereign. Of course we know (most of us anyway) that we can delete our Sovereigns by deleting them right out of the Documents folder, but, there's a lot of us lazy people out there that would really love to be able to delete them from in game. Please add this button A.s.a.p. Thanks :)
Edit: I did try it (deleted the seed files in the maps folder) and it seems to generate random maps. They don't look good, though, and I'm not sure whether they are playable. Can you cross mountains or use ships? If not, they are unplayable due to huge mountain ranges blocking several parts of the map. But even if they are playable, they are evidently not enjoyable. It was the right decision not to use this random map generator, but it was
You're on to something with the spell animations and combat animations. I keep thinking about that pic of the Triceratops looking thing batting away a group of men and they go flying through the air. I'd really, Really, like to see that in game. So far I've spent about an hour playing the game and about 4 hours trying to fix a text issue. When I get this text bug fixed then I'll start seriously playing/modding....and making a list of all things I'll "Suggest" get changed/fixed. Good p
All New Releases today have minor flaws and bugs. It happens. Anyone...I Repeat ANYONE...who buys PC games in this day and age should know what to expect. They expected to have a few more days to squash some of the minor crap people are complaining about. Hell there are still a few people out there who can't even get the game to Run at all. Those few people, as long as they meet the minimum system specs, are the only ones who should be bitching even in the slightest. Stardock ALWAYS s
Thanks everyone at Stardock, and to Yarlen for staying up till 6 this morning helping me with text issues. :)

And if you want true fractal randomness, you can delete the seeds but all balance goes out the door.
How pls.
Yea, we ultimately decided that the continent formation worked out better if we could start with shapes and then randomize it from there. We can also hypothesize ETs, and design experiments to see them (SETI is one such, though not looking on earth...). Problem is that so far we haven't measured them. Guys...I'll bet next time we see the Faction Creator it's going to be tied with the "Race Creator" and we'll be able to make custom races with custom models and all kinds of cool shit...no worries ;)
We did get it early, before the 24th, period. They didn't have to come in this weekend, they could have waited till Monday and taken the weekend off like they we're going to, but they didn't. We should be cheering and thanking them for doing us a favor. I can guarantee you Blizzard or EA wouldn't have done this. They would have said "Tough shit, it's only a weekend, wait or we'll gladly refund your money.". Thanks for coming in and busting ass on the weekend Frogboy and Team. If I liv

I was going by Elemental stats :P, in which case there is no Willpower, only INT and WIS. DEX wouldn't have anything to do with it as it's a mind altering effect :P I guess by those same standards though there's no "Horniness Modifier" either...LoL.
I'm curious on this as well for making my own AI factions. I don't want them to automatically hate each other because one is considered a "Kingdom" and the other is a "Empire". This way each and every game played can start Truly "Fresh" and un-fold differently. Meaning certain AI's you fight against won't always get along or be enemies every time you see them.
