I'd actually like to figure this out as well. Working on the "Undead Faction" for my Undead Rising Mod v2.0 and I want to get the Faction to create the units I make for the faction to use when it's being controlled by the AI. As such I'll have to find a way to dissable the default units it makes and have it make the ones I design.

Those Water effects looks freaking SWEET!!! Well done man, good stuff.
That does look cool!!! Great job man :).
Karate Kid. I was just trying to have fun.
hehe I thought that scene looked familiar. I should have remembered that....doh!!! That used to be one of my favorite movies back in the day and was what got me into the martial arts as a kid. Those 80's movies had a way of being inspiring that modern movies just don't nail down in my eyes.
as the Quendar seem to be the basis for any elven mod.
You know, now that I think about it, why would the Quendar make good Elves when they have scales? Elves don't have scales :P . I'd make the Elves out of the Wraith as they fit the shape best I think. Elongated faces, pointy ears, etc etc, With the proper skin tone the Wraith would make perfect Elves....hmmm... Urxen with "Realistic" skin Texture are here!!! They're beefy, they're nasty, they're hairy and violent, they are the Urxen!!! With this skin you'll have Hordes of Urxen beast men terrorizing the countryside. The armies of the Kingdoms shall bow to their strength!!! Details include tusks on the mouth, veins, and hair. Thanks guys. It means a lot to us that the community is into the project. For us, knowing people are watching, waiting, expecting, gives us motivation to keep up the work. On a long project it's essential to build up a fan and player base because they help spread the word. It's also good as a developer to see the community get excited :).
I'd recommend leaving this out of the release version of the DL mod. It is an interesting idea, but would be more suitable for a mod mod. It seems like it has potential to cause gating and other frustrations for the player and comes with some design challenges. I can expand on this if you like, but didn't want to come across as finding the idea (of random quest object placement) objectionable.
It comes down
Scott, you forgot one brother, and it's a Big One too. Using Buildings, Land Objects, and City Walls in Tactical Combat: This too was something the Beat Community and SD Team discussed at Length here on the forums. This was brought up as being Very Important almost every time the topic of Tactical Combat was brought up. This is a feature of Age of Wonders and it's expansions, as well as many other more traditional strateg
What the game needs is a mechanic that keeps a "Remnant" of a defeated faction once the Sovereign is killed. Of course this will only happen for defeated factions in a single player game. The mechanic of Sov Death = Game Over isn't going to be changed. Something though should be done with the parts of the enemy faction that would be left over if the faction still had towns left. Any champions still alive that could cast magic because they were "Imbued" by a AI Sovereign should loose t
Excellent idea for a thread. I actually had a thread like this in mind but I was going to cross-post it here and in the Elemental General section. I read one of the Devs say they are compiling a list themselves of things to work on in order of importance. The way they decide what to work on first goes by How Many Posts they see on a particular subject on the forums here and on other forums around the Internet. If they see 20 posts on "We Want Multiplayer" and only 10 posts on "Dragons are OP!
Hey Raven I have two questions: 1. Did you ever play AOW:SM? 2. And if so did you ever make a DL mod for it. They did have Draconians in the game and all the other races that would be needed for DL. Just curious because if so then I wouldn't mind looking it up and downloading it.
I did play it, yes, but I never did any mods for it. The last Mod Project I was a part of was a Freedom Force Mod m
That's Great Work, Heavenfall. Really well done. SD should incorporate your work here into the next patch.
I'm hoping SD will put one out soon. If not then hopefully one of the guys doing cauldrom work here on will work something up.
With the release of Elemental came the files and tools many of us modders needed to get to work in earnest on all the ambitious projects we have in store for Elemental. Interest has been growing in the Dragonlance project and I came to the realization that even though I've spoke about our plans at some length, up till now that's really all it's been, plans. All that has changed in the last few weeks thanks to the help of some very dedicated individuals here on our forums and I think it's time
The Hydra looks nice, but I'd prefer a version with 7 heads and without wings.
That's not a normal Hydra. That's Takhisis, the 5 Headed Dragon Goddess from Dragonlance. In Dragon Form she's supposed to have 5 heads. Good thing she doesn't have 5 heads in human form or we'd have to hear 5 times as much bitching from her as when compared to the amount of bitching by a chick with only 1 head..LoL.
I am glad that for once a reviewer was able to look past the bullshit and see how Awesome of a game elemental is. With that being said though, and seeing that almost every other site out there is on a Elemental bashing spree, I think this guy might end up taking some flak for going against the popular review sites. At least he had the decency to tell the truth about the game working and not being "unplayable" like a lot of other sites are saying. I saw a review last night where the re
Agree with pretty much everything in the OP. Good to see Frogboy cleared up the rolls per unit thing too.
For a minute there I thought this post was going to be about an age thing. I agree we should be able to marry our kids to the Champions we recruit as well. This would/could also grant a huge "Loyalty" boost from the Champion in quest (provided loyalty is ever added as a mechanic).
I have serious issues about associating the word "realistic" to the word "Quendar" (as a name for a fantasy race/species of a videogame). That said, as a skinning work, congrats I'd have gone for the Quendar to Elf mod though, as the Quendar seem to be the basis for any elven mod.
Hehe. When I say "Realistic" I mean from a visual perspective. The skin texture for the Quendar I used is from a picture of an actual
This is what I based the skin off of.
Got another Skin Mod for ya, Kyogre. Raven's Realistic Quendar Mod: https://forums.elementalgame.com/394301 Description: Adds realistic scale textures to standard Elemental Quendar race. I've got more in the works....you might need a longer list ;) :P
