Graphics cards being what they are, how fast the industry moves forward, and prices, I always buy long term. I don't mind paying $400 or $500 for a good graphics card so long as I know I'll be using it and I won't need a newer one to run anything that comes out in the next 4 or 5 years. As a general rule the less you pay for an older card the less amount of time it will be before you need to upgrade to run the new games coming out, whether we're talking two or three years from now, or 4 or 5
RavenX
That's good stuff :). Excellent concepts so far.
I like the difficulty. . .. ... ===============WARNING: Minor Spoiler about Enemies================= ============================================================ So far my group has only died once and that was against a Revanant that I accidentally released in the Circle of Mages tower....oops. Also there's a Sloth Demon you fight later in the Fade that's pretty tough. ============================================================
Updated 11-7-09. All new ideas added to lists and catagories. Now....back to Dragon Age: Origins :)

I'm guessing you are going to Circle of Magi for a very specific reason and returning to Red Cliff for that very same reason. I did NOT go to the Circle of Magi for the reason. Maybe somehow the quests are playing out differently, who knows. I don't want to get into too much detail for spoiler reasons.
Ahh y

Human Mage. I'm at the return trip to the Circle of Magi after solving most of the problems in Redcliffe. I still need to go back to Redcliffe to take care of...something...can't say what without going into story details. Man I'm loving this game. Also, don't forget you can talk to your party members and they can even give you specific quests.
The cheapest way to get a new computer these days is if you have the cash to buy the parts and a decent computer shop in your town somewhere. I'm talking about a custom shop/small business, not Best Buy or Curium City. All you'll really need is a new motherboard, a processor chip, a new graphics card (most expensive part usually), and memory. A new Hard Drive isn't that expensive these days but you can always just use the one you have now (but you'll need to free up some space). If the DvD Dr
I've always viewed tech trading in games as a bit of a crutch that games use to force players to make use of diplomacy because diplomacy was otherwise useless. In the real world diplomacy is not generally viewed as a method to acquire technology. (Of course in the real world most technology is developed in the private sector anyway). I'd prefer to make diplomacy useful even if tech trading were completely forbidden. [
It's not as much the user interface I'm opposed to as the mechanic itself. It's either too vague and random, or it takes something that should be simple and quick and turns it into a mini-game that would be fun the first few games, but quickly start to get old. Now... if Stardock does allow us to dynamically create or combine spells of our own... That would be awesome (I cannot emphasize how awesome that would be). And having

My vote is definitely against cauldrons!
I suppose you could use a giant crystal with smaller crystals around it. Still, I think any kind of interactive interface would be funner then just clicking a picture on a graph. There could be an indicator of some sort as you mention or you

I've heard that the Xbox graphics aren't nearly as good as on the PC, that they're all washed out, etc. Has anyone seen both? Is it really that bad in comparrison? And then there is the standard edition vs. special edition. Is the special edition stuff worth it? And added to that, the Xbox special edition is $15 more than
Graphics: The visual presentation of DA:O is beautiful and elegant. The world comes to life in all it's high fantasy glory. When you enter the Fade everything gets blurry to show it's a dream world. When you're in a dark dungeon the lighting fits the scene. When you are outside the weather changes. Everything is done in such vivid detail you'd swear you were part of that world making the big decisions that affect the lives of all those around you

There should be some "normal or universal" spells that everyone has access to like Fireball, and Lightning Bolt, etc etc. Mixing un-known amounts would be s

The minimum system specs aren't that bad really. They're even less if you're running on XP and not Vista. So far I haven't had any glitches of any kind except one time I couldn't restore it after minimizing it. That hasn't happened since though and I seem to be able to minimize and restore as often as I want

I'm only about 10 hours into the game. It's actually pretty safe to read the spoiler section now that I look at it. I don't give away any plot spoilers, just a little background on some of the politics of Ferelden. On a side note I hate most of the
I don/t really think a 'cauldron' fits in particularly with the lore. It would look cool, but would probably feel out of place
I have to disagree. I think Cauldrons fit the theme nicely. As I remember there were quite a few screens in MoM where a Cauldron could be seen. Cauldrons just go along with Magic and when I think of a Magical Laboratory I picture a Cauldron there somewhere along with beakers and burners and such.<
I really, Really, don't think everyone should get Every tech. This severely limits the usefulness of Tech Trading and other tech related options that could be a big part of diplomacy. Part of the draw of these games is the feeling you get when you're doing good and slaughtering your opponents. This is partly done with Technological Superiority. I can agree that as a tech gets older and has been around longer it would make sense that those who don't have it would get it easier aft
Warning: Some minor spoilers within, you Will be Warned what to skip if you wish to avoid them though I will try to be vague enough that it won't ruin anything for you if you read that section anyway. I don't say this too often, but in this case, Believe The Hype!!! Dragon Age: Origins is the RPG Experience of the Decade. This is the most fun and epic story that's been done since Baldur's Gate. I don't want to give away any story secrets but, needless to say it's Amaz
