This could be great if done right. Very interesting post Demiansky. You should have posted this in the Elemental Idea forums though.

Note: Also, if your list starts getting large you'll have to use a Text Editor or a Web server to keep the format correct. These forums have issues with copy/paste and excess HTML code can build up and cause problems in your post. One you may notice is eventually you'll have a lot of empty space at the bottom of your post and you won't be able to get rid of it. Then as you add new things that space will keep growing. You'll also notice eventually your spacing between headers will get out of h
So you're saying I should bombard Kyro with PM's to get it stickied? I bet he'll like that
lol No, not saying that at all. Actually Yarlen stickied it after Boogiebac said it would be useful. I think in order to get your list stickied you'd have to have a lot of Mods to keep track of. When the Mods start adding up though it will be a good idea and you might be able to get it stickied then. A piece of advice though my friend, i
RavenX, I'm not really sure if you are "officially" making your mod or not. I saw a post of yours when I was searching for mods saying that you want to create a Dragonlance mod, and you had some ideas down, but it was also a thread about modding in general. So if you want me to take yours down, let me know.
When the time comes I'm going to "attempt" one yes. Depending on how many Dragonlance fans we have around here I may even

So, if you're finding that cities are a good 10-20 tiles apart and it takes a few turns for units to get from city A to city B, then I feel we're doing something right, not wrong (again, IMHO).
I agree with you Boogie. The problem I foresee though is people building citi

I guess a long-distance morale effecting spell like Sauron's would be ok.
I'm actually hoping that as long as a battle takes place in a Sov's sphere of influence that he could cast in the battle like he was actually there. Or perhaps you can get a magic item your army or hero could carry, like a mirror, that would
That's actually one of the big 'under the covers' change. Before, unit movement was tied to the animations, so if you clicked TURN before all the units were done moving, the data would get de-synched (and all sorts of bad things could happen). We've cleaned it all up considerably, so clicking turn like a fiend is officially an option (since the data can now keep up)
That's excelent news, brother. Well

In a game where you can nuke something with magic it's hard to pre-calculate battles. Doing the math and having the AI balance a mundane army system is easy, but that doesn't include the possibility that your Sovereign could remotely cast a battle altering spell and win the day. Unless they somehow produce a number value in a battle system for every spell and ability in game and then factor in the likelihood that it would be used by the Sov or other magic caster I don't see how it cou
right now the whole essense system isn't really very functional. I mean its in the game, but all it does is create cities. Once they've ironed out the other uses of it (namely the whole spell system, enchantment, and hero boosting deal) I'm sure we're going to see some dramatic changes to how the essence to deploy cities is handled, both in cost to start a city and general amount on channeler. The next build will clear some of that up we hope so we can get some serious testing in. In a way you should kind of be glad you won't have to pull your hair

Well, this is what I see happening. It cost Essence to build a city. Say you build a city that is in a good position but some improvements you want are still a few or more then a few squares/hexes away. Now you have to build another city pretty close to a city you just built so you can get those other improvements. How will this affect Game Play? We're going to have too many Cities sprouting up and our Sovereign's will be Essence starved from building so many cities
Spell creation system as in Oblivion...? NOooooo! Playing with cost/range/power/critical chance/duration sliders, in order to create the most unbalanced spell, is something that I really don't want to see in this game. First, it's tedious for players to read through tons of topics, just to know if their spell composition isn't screwed. Second, balancing such monstrosity (system) is a task for true heroes (or fools). With sufficiently big selection

Ok, we've got new categories on the research screen, less info cards, looks like more buildings, new resources on the map, and new items for units. You know that part there where you click through the turns real quick? That's normally when I get a crash. If I click through the turns slowly it seems a bit more stable. Then again I'm sure your build is a lot more stable then the beta were working with now so I'm fairly confident we'll be able to test and critique more things in the

Now, after building his power and draining essence from the lands, the Dark Lord is made manifest... " I, Raven Xavier, do name this metropolis "Ravenloft".
