You could always move to the United States Technically.. But on a list of countries I'd want to live in, it's pretty far down. Back to the point. No matter your territory, there will always be titles not available to you via Impulse. And yet it happily tells you hurry up and buy it, only to change its mind once you go to your cart. Stardock seems to take pride in being consumer friendly. This isn't. Fix it.
<
Note: I actually just read the review and it's not much like X-Com. It's NOTHING but tactical battles. No research, no base building, just battles. Still might be fun, bit it's no X-Com.
The Overlord games are "kinda" like Dungeon Keeper. I miss the true Dungeon Keeper games though. There's still nothing quite like watching your minions tear apart a couple of do gooder heroes....mwhahaha.[e digicons]}:)[/e]
This actually looks pretty awesome. You know all those people who keep saying "Make a Fantasy Total War"!!! Well....someone's doing it and it'll be out soon. Check out this Video. If this is done as cool as it looks we may have a winner for real time fantasy battles. Of course Elemental is still going to be a better game, but the battle engine here looks pretty sweet.
Apparently since game companies know whats up in the industry way before the public knows what they're doing there is already a game jumping on the X-Com Clone band wagon. The game is called Star Sentinel Tactics. You can check it out on Gamespot Here . I haven't found out much about it, but it looks a hell of a lot like a updated X-Com engine. It might be worth keeping an eye on.

Here's a thought. How about a Research Tree where you start off seeing EVERY Possible Tech. As you mouse over a tech a info box will pop up and tell you what you need to reach that tech. You can then literally build your own Tech Tree each game by deciding what you want to go for. Researching some techs could close off the path to others so you would have to be careful what you go for. This also would make it useful to be able to trade techs. You could trade a tech you have for one that got c
Seems to me that there should be a difference between "city" and "settlement". Have settlements be built by settlers, created at cities (much like traditional TBS games), and cap their development at 2 large squares. That gives you enough room for one resource and some stuff or two resources. Settlements do not reclaim land the way cities no, nor are they are versatile or productive. If a sovereign feels so inclined,
Come on, Stardock. I beg you guys, _stop_ showing advertisments for games not available in my region. I've lost track of the amount of times I've seen a special offer, excitedly clicking it, only to be told it's not available in my region. It's extremely bloody annoying, and the system obviously knows exactly where I am so it shouldn't be a big deal to at least give us an option to only show games for our region.
You could alw
I own it on my X-Box 360 but I was thinking about picking up the Sith Edition on PC. Hmmm. Maybe I'll just pirate the damn thing instead :P lol j/k
Neverwinter nights meanwhile was great if you wanted to build your own RPG (although the core campaign didn't come close to the heights of BG2 IMO).
Once you experience the Epic Story of Baldurs Gate 1 & 2 most other RPG's pale in comparison. (at least for Story anyway)

I can't wait. I'm not too excited about the FPS shooter version but Firaxis is a great game company so I'm more then confident they'll do a killer job on a traditional turn based remake. I couldn't get into X-Com Enforcer. The FPS aspe
Finally, after almost 20 years of waiting. New X-Com games have been confirmed. Just as I said in another post a few weeks ago 2K Games is doing a shooter version and Firaxis is doing a traditional turn based X-Com game. Man I'm drooling already. I'm a HUGE X-Com fan. If you've never played one of the classic X-Com games now is a good time to get into them. Check out the article on GameSpot HERE !!

So my wife and I went out tonight for Halloween to one of the big adult functions in Orlando. We went to a place called Church Street Station (it has nothing to do with any Church that I know of). This block in Orlando is filled with bars and nightclubs and during Halloween they close off the entire road and all the bars spill out into the streets. One of the local radio stations was having a costume contest and giving away $3,000. My wife is 21 and I'm 31. This was the first year she could a
Don't forget your clocks get turned back an hour tonight. You're gaining a whole free hour of life...for free :). What are you going to do with it? You're probably going to sleep it away like a lazy slacker and not even fix your clocks to the right time until you wake up the next day...*shakes head*. Lazy....and you call your-self a gamer....for shame!!!! You gotta love daylight savings time. :)
EA can money grub all they want, I'm still getting the Wardens Keep DLC for 7$. Do they suck donkey balls? Yeap....Am I still gonna get it so I have all things Dragon Age? ....Yeap. ...Those bastards....

I'm sure it's only this way because of it still being in Beta (at least I hope that's why), but I notice a lot of the "Goodies" on the map you come across all have the same picture for their info cards. Misplaced Purse Misplaced Wares Great Swamp Tree Fountain of Tana Abandoned Caravan And a whole bunch more all have the same picture. That will be changed by release correct? If not, they should all have different pictures in the info card.
Yes, HP needs to be called something else. Tying Maximum Life to Attack Speed though....I don't know. It just sounds odd to me. As it was said earlier in the thread, I'd have to try it before I make judgment.
lol j/k, sorry, couldn't resist. :P Don't everyone try to kill me all at the same time now, I like LotR as much as the next guy.
Yeah, it is odd everytime we try to reconcile any kind of fantasy with real life physics.
I can see that happening a Lot in the months to come. We're always going to have two camps here. One that leans toward more realistic battles and game mechanics, and the other camp that will lean more towards the "Fantasy" aspect. Luckily there have been plenty of "Fantasy War Games" to come before this so they have a succes
