Quoting Raven X, reply 3 1 A) Yes indeed my friend, Havok is more then capable. Just look at the building editor there. Oh, so the building editor is using Havok? I thought it's using the Kumquat engine. Pardon my ignorance. Hmmm...however the building "models" are not animated in the same way like the creature models. The buildings are static compared t

I think this sucks really. Bungie has always made games of a pretty decent Quality. I think the first Bungie game I played was "Myth: The Fallen Lords" which was a Awesome war game. As for Activision, they've made some awesome games, but, they've also made some crap games I wouldn't touch with a ten foot stick. Activision is also the current "bad boy" of the industry as they are taking the place of being hated that EA had just a short year or two ago. Bad form Bungie....bad form.
Raven - I commend you for your dedication towards creating customized races complete with backstory (in your head or otherwise) that feel at least as complete as the official races or factions included in games. But the fact of the matter is, you are in the minority. Sorry for the long rant... It's 4 AM and I'm procrastinating!
No reason to be sorry, Pigeon. I agree with you on everything but me being "in the
Like I've said in a previous reply, it would be awesome to have an editor like this, but 2 important questions must be answered firstly: 1. Is this Havok engine capable for something like this at all? 2. Will the various armor pieces be able to mold themselves to various torsos / body parts, or are they relatively fixed 3D objects that get laid over the model?
1 A) Y
i gotta say ravens idea is interesting, he cleared up a lot, but why can't you focus on both say... 75% Lore focus and then a very besic race creation.
I made a post in the Idea's Section as well ;)

Who hasn't seen the Elemental Building Editor yet? If you haven't there's a Pic of it in the Media section. Get an eye full here... Now, here's what I'm thinking.... Make another one of those only instead of building pieces have Body Parts. It doesn't need to be complicated. It doesn't need to scale and grow like "Spore". Nothing nearly

Another post transplant. I know that customization will give the game a lot of staying power, but i think there should be a limit to the amount of time and effort they put into easy customization.
I was actually already planning to incorporate something similar to this in my Lord of the Elements mod for Gondor. It wouldn't be Gondor with immortal Kings/Stewards. Since I intend to do it anyway, I could just make a mini-mod that does this for the regular game, and then after it's finished incorporate it into LotE.
That would be really awesome Kyogre. I'll fully support your efforts my friend, just say the word and you go

I made this reply to AlphaLegion in another thread but I thought some of the points were valid enough to be included in this conversation as well.
Hmm, if your Sovereign dies when you have no cities left, what's the purpose of this mod? I think it should also remove the "escape to nearest city" mechanism. Or is it meant to be used only when you get killed by another Sovereign? Also, what about the AI players? What happens when one of their Sovs is killed by another Sov? Does his/her nation have a chance to "fight the good fight"?
If your Sov dies and you
I think this should be done in the normal (unmodded) game. Why make a complicated dynastic system without implementing the kingdom inheritance?
A lot of people thought that when we had the debate on it. It was decided internally though that Sov Death = Game Over is a necessary and needed core mechanic. As a player, while playing Elemental you are playing the "role" of the Sovereign. Once he/she dies, your role is over. Your Na

I was thinking about all the debates that have went on in the forums and the game-play decisions that have been made thus far. Elemental is going to be a Amazing game no matter the outcome of any discussion or what decisions (for the most part) will be made about game-play. If I said I was %100 completely happy with every decision that's been made so far though, well, I'd be a liar. I had a idea for a small mod that I "might" get around to if I have time after the Dragonlance Mod. The

@AlphaLegion Well, I've never been a "professional writer", no, but my creative writing skills Have been used in video games before, namely Ultima Online. I wrote the background for a lot of items and quests in game. Of course as a Origin Employee at the time everything I created became property of Origin and I didn't have any rights to it other then to say "Hey, I wrote that.". I've also been published in 2 different Poetry books over the years. No matter how good "Lore" is,
I want a button in online games to disable custom races, because I'd rather play with known entities, not get wiped by a cheesed super-race with laser-eyes. However cool it would be to have that in singleplayer. I'd rather see the principle numerical values belong to the Faction, and not the Race. A faction should be good at building something. The basic stats of the Race should impact the starting stats of the soldiers

Basically I see Frogboy's question as this.... Do you want a Explanation as to why (insert faction name here) lives by the ocean? Or do you want to be able to make a race with fish fins and gills? Do you want to know why (insert faction name here) lives near mountains? Or do you want to be able to make a race with wings? What sounds more fun? Knowing why someone lives near water or playing as fish people? Note: the fish thing was just a example.
A lot of my angst with some of the journal comments is that people seem to find the concept of interaction with game designers so alien that they don't realize that we're soliciting their opinions. For instance, there are no "decisions" being made presently. We're just brainstorming with the group. But suddenly players think we've somehow switched course.
I know there isn't. I didn't mean the Dev's

Full of Lore. Limited customization (it's great but limited to what the world of Elemental supports by Lore). Elemental: War of Expansion (pack 1, 2, 3, 4...) No campaign. Story was finished in Elemental: War of Magic. Mechanics restric
