begs the question, why do you stay if its so terrible? Why do I stay? Its home. Why do aliens stay, if they truly exist, and actually 'visit' earth, I suspect their reasons are their own.?

The alien civilizations that have been 'buzzing' us adhere to a strict set of laws. They have not been officially invited by any nation on earth to come and visit. So they respect our wish for privacy. So they don't land. All we get are teenager aliens 'mooning' us. Also, aliens are not stupid. There are no human laws on earth granting any rights to aliens or protecting their safety while here. Legally, they have the same status as most terrestrial

While i tend to favor 'quality' literature, and quality cinema, the twilight series has entertained me in a manner that other vamp/undead have not. Yes, the quality of writing could be improved. Yes, the story does include teenage angst. But it also speaks, in a fresh manner, to the universal human condition - and that i appreciate. Now, why is EWOM not 'succeeding?' (Whatever that means?). For me, what makes a scifi or fantasy interesting has two parts.

wonderful ideas. Except, perhaps giving the hero a city as an independent kingdom. perhaps if the city was a vassal, or locked into a semi-permanent alliance, perhaps it would , that might work. wonderful

[quote who="Tydorius" reply="3" id="2876221"]One thing that would make things come to life a little more is if things had names. I'm sure there's someone here that's played Dwarf Fortress - Notice how when the world is generated _everything_ has a name? To keep the clutter down it'd have to be a separate layer of text on the cloth map that we could turn off, but I'd love to zoom to the cloth map and find out that there are places like "Mountains of Blood" "Hills of Sorrow" and other

Bottom line, Brad LIKES games. Gaming gives him a hopping good time. Sure EWOM isn't where most of us wish it was, right now. But this game isn't just "a job.' Its his passion. And I continue to be patient while EWOM is fixed. I'm hopping it will be soon. (smile).

"What fools these mortals be." BTW, why throw out the baby boys? Seems like a waste. Why not trade them for other SOV's daughters? Bring a little variety into the Amazon's queendom.

hey Doc, like your new avatar. back to UFO's. I was reading about the 'famous' daylight buzzing of Mexico City. Happened about 20 years ago, i guess. Hundreds of people saw 30 or so 'thing' flying overhead... videos were taken. look like spherical lights, i guess. Interesting thing is that many people were interviewed after the event. Most saw what the videos seem to indicate. But a few interviewees said they saw, "ange

Wow, blast from the past. Yes, SMAC, and the alien crossfire expansion is (are?) one awesome game. Videos when you create a 'wonder,' create your own units (design!) according to the tech you have. Red stuff everywhere, lets kill it all and plant trees... opps, was i getting on your nerves! LOL. Best of all, FFH2. I began playing that back on one of the earliest versions. It has, as someone above wrote, the most replayability of any game I h

This new technique of using larger organisms, "parasites" is a logical extension of what we have been doing for years with bacteria. (We use bacteria to produce many of our drugs, etc.) Its wonderful to see MS/Gates begin to explore these possibilities. My one concern about using insects, or other creatures, to deliver medicine, etc, to large numbers of people is that the exact same technology could be used to deliver harmful 'packages' to enemy troops. &nbs

Transparency and candor is a wonderful attribute to express. I appreciate the open window into how Sd organizes the the gaming portion of their enterprise. My hat is off to you, sir.

I like the idea of marrying sov scions off to 'heros.' The Sov can propose to opposite gender 'heros,' and get married. Why cant that piece of computer code be 'adopted' (smile) and applied to the SOV's children? Makes sense. However, I would not agree with limiting proposals to 'nobility.' A powerful merchant prince(ess), for example, might have their family's loyalty to the SOV increased by marrying into the sovs family. And marrying a commoner hero wh
