A note to people reading this thread who are not playing. I ended up with the Yomi Kings nation. I have tried to create a role playing 'person' for the Yomis. Yes, definitely play the demo a few times.... Dom3 is pricey, even on sale its in the $50 range. Once thru the demo is not enough to tell if you REALLY like immersing yourself in this world. The spacing is OK... what I would like to see is the possibility of using start up points to 'purchase some tech to start with. That way ... everyone gets something they want / need to begin with... I like the long lead times between tech advances because you then have opportunity to 'play' with the units /spells of that tech level. But starting the game with almost none... well, that just bites.
