I really don't know the differemnces between the balance mod and vinalla, either. I was just mentioning what others have posted on the Sharepnel site. I would play with out the balance mod, if a dis interested third party were to oversee the the set up, and insure a fairer start.

How did i get wacked by turn 3? It happened because i attacked a neutral province adjacient to my home castle. I won, but took many losses (support troops, not leaders). The very same turn Hinnom rolled in and attacked the province, now defended by my weakened forces (with no PD to help). My pretender and HP were killed. Almost everyone in the game (except the player who benefited from this) agreed that the initial set up - especially with the water

Campaigner: Dom3 (based upon what i have read - never having played Dom2) is a refined and expanded version of Dom2. But rhge fraphics are very basic. Since you mention the Dom2 demo... may I suggest you try the Dom3 demo? I think there is one...) The game doesn't have a lot of eye candy.. but the battles do show everything going on... it just takes a while to figure it all out. I don't think i have, yet.

Dr Guy: oh, I hate trojans, too... not familiar with the 'java' variety. I hope you can save all the data, etc., on your PC. I have not used a 'mac' since the days of the Apple//+ and Apple//e. I switched to PC's becuase most softward that interested me would more likely to be released for a PC, and not for an Apple. Iv'e stayed with PC's because i'm more comfortable with PCs. I am not happy that Macs are now being targeted by malware writers. Guess I'm not happy about anyone getting 'hurt.'
