I would oppose manual placement of units for tac battles. However, we have an 'army' button on the strategic (also cloth) map. Might the three rows of three be used to indicate marching order, and placement on the tac map? And yes, all the units should be grouped together, and not split up when initially placed on the tac map.

I went into lurk mode, as well. Not lurking now. I feel that SD has handled the EWOM >remake> FE >add-on expansion> LH development of the series very well. I was an early critic of EWOM feeling I had been ripped off. But SD (unlike many other companies) made good on their promise to address this. They created/crafted FE. And now SD has released a beta version of LH, an "expansion" of FE. Their method to address the EWOM trial shows both their integrity and their respect for gamers who w

I use the warden upgrade when I have nastys nearby and my army is busy elsewhere. Speed up travel upgrade, and at choke points, the extra defense upgrade. EDIT: I like the outposts. If SD decides to discontinue the outposts might I ask if they could be left in as an option, a simple 'on/off' switch, if you will, that is activated when setting up that game?

I like your suggestion. I find that using the mouse to move units safely requires me to click on each square in the path because, if I click on the end point, the AI [sometimes] moves the units in very awkward paths. - Very awkward when my units 'rest' adjacent to a big nasty hostile monster pack. Its delivery! And my army is toast. So I often have to move the stack/unit one space at a time, and that means one mouse click each space moved. WASD is much easier on my fingers,(arthritis).

By 'cheats' do you mean hidden or undocumented commands that the developers use to 'adjust' the game,(like the 'console' in Bethesda games)? Or do you mean 'exploits?'

Perhaps coding some sort of 'formation' that each army uses when placed on the tac map would force the AI to keep each sides forces together when setting up the initial placement?

One possible fix, all heros in army share (split) the total experience earned. However, if sov is present, sov ALSO gets an amount equal to 100% of earned experience. The sov's amount is not deducted from the exp shared by the heros. example. army with sov and 3 heros (and several troops) wins a battle and earns 100 experience points. Sov gets 100 exp points. Each of the three heros gets 33% of the total 100 exp points, so each of the three heros gets 33 points. Units get experienc

Yes, I agree; a hearty 'thank you' is clearly appropriate here. SD did what many companies don't do: the right thing. Thank you SD, Froggy, et al for doing the right thing, and more than making things right with those of us that trusted you with that 'game that is not to be named.' You made good on your word. Capitol.

I agree, the borders are too 'porus' and intel (notification) from locals way too lax. EDIT: I think post #16 was humor. About fast moving within one's own borders > already exists via the outpost feature.

I, too, have seen 'dazed' melee units visually participate in swarm attacks initiated by adjacent units. How can we determine if the dazed units are actually causing damage to the defending unit?

Yes, nichganz has a great idea, and so simple to code. Just make all magical staves [that are intended for use by dedicated spell-casters] into ranged weapons. Some staves have a magic affect but seem suited for melee combat, and rightly belong in the front line, [magic enhanced tanks].

Finally played thru a couple of LH games. Wow, wow, wow, (triple wow). Amazing game-play, amazing. SD, you exceeded my expectations that were already very high after i experienced your recovery from the 'elemental' fumble. FE was a vast improvement over 'the game that shall not be named.' LH, is, like, wow!

I, for one, like the "CHAMPION MARRIAGE/CHILDREN/DYNASTY" (caps in original, sorry) idea. Marriages often tied groups together, or caused rifts. Perhaps they could be introduced via a modified 'henchmen' mechanic? Some might really be spying for the lineage of one parent against the other, some provide positive and negative affects on the settlements in which they reside, come with a troop (military) retainers, or modify the like/dislike factors between the sovereign

Hey Starkers, actually, the correct link on the page was a tiny word, merely underlined, and still in black (not the typical default blue of URL links). Oh well. My radar is on high alert to Phishing - so kinda embarrassed on the driver link.. lemonade down under, really?

When I referred to the professional class of military personnel, I was referring to the specialized, highly trained folks, the elite types like seals, airborne rangers, etc. The intent of my post was to suggest that the erosion of personal, individual freedoms goes back to a fundamental change in, if you will, the American Psyche. Many people seem to be opting for what they perceive as as 'temporary' restrictions needed to keep us safe during the 'war' on terrorism. They really believe that
